Beautiful morning hike in Rancho PV. Start at Point Vicente Interpretive Center (parking lot and bathrooms available) and head down the trail. We did about one mile each way, and it was fairly flat and easy. Parts paved, parts dirt but very manageable (bring the kids). Dogs allowed also, but must be on leash. Amazing views of Pacific Ocean and tidepools below the bluffs. Great for visitors to the area.
The views on these hiking trails is beautiful. It’s not hard at all to get here. And there’s plenty of parking on the street around the neighborhood. There’s also a parking lot by the lighthouse. It’s a very easy hike. Unfortunately there was no access to the actual lighthouse, but you can still get a great view of it. I’m happy I found this place, as it is a great place to chill and watch the sunset. There are some benches where you can sit and look at the ocean. There are also bathrooms, and a picnic area.
A perfect easy walk through the cliffs of Palos Verdes to see the endless ocean waves and horizon. There is two starting points for this path. One point begins near the Vicente Lighthouse and the other is at the end point. Both points have a small parking lot and its best to come in early because it can get filled up quickly. The pathway runs along the side cliff where you can see beautiful homes and ocean waves at the bottom. It is an easy walkway there is no inclines and its on a dirt path. There is tall grass and signs warning of snakes, so you have to be careful. The walkway ends up at the Vicente Lighthouse, but it was closed on the day I visited the reserve. The walkway is clean and there are benches to sit down to watch the waves and if youre lucky you get to see some dolphins or whales. Im happy I checked out this walk because its easy for beginners and the sights are breathtaking.
Beautiful hikes and lots of free parking. Would recommend!
Cloudy or clear, its always a fantastic view!
For the most part it was empty. Clean and people where nice. Every one minds there business.
Nice place for a walk. You have the view of the ocean while exercising. Unfortunately, the access to the light house is not allow.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Walking along the cliffs is stunning and the occasional flock of pelicans that glide along overhead is a treat. You might see dolphins from a distance and others enjoy whale watching. The Point Vicente Interpretive Center hosts many weddings as well. Imagine wedding pictures with the ocean, cliffs and the light house in the background.
Beautiful views, enjoy a good walk and relax looking at the ocean. There is a Starbucks around, you can sit and enjoy the sunset.
Pleasant flat walking path along the cliffs. Always a little breezy and sometimes quite chilly. Many people bring binoculars to watch for whales and dolphins in the ocean. Blue herons and seals can be seen on the rocks, while birds, bunnies and other creatures scamper along the trail. Pelicans and seagulls fly overhead. Lots of native plants, flora and fauna to observe. Excellent view of the lighthouse, ocean and Catalina island. Daily whale count displayed at the center.
So beautiful here. You can see Catalina Island on a clear day. Great views of the coastline in both directions. The day we went, I saw whales migrating past. Last time we visited a herder had a bunch of goats eating up all the weeds. There were baby goats. So adorable!Parking was very crowded on the weekend just before sunset. Pack your patience and be kind.
Can walk along the shore and it takes about half an hour. Beautiful views and very comfortable flat sand walk. There are picinic areas and restrooms are very clean and tidy inside the building. A little museum is also inside the building.
I love this place SO MUCH! its a very easy trail (seascape trail), very kid and toddler friendly. Ive been there 5 times already, I take my two toddlers and one is in a stroller. Beautiful views of the ocean, and Point Vicente lighthouse. There are several benches and picnic tables around, also a great place to walk your fur babies.
The gray whale census spotted 3 cow-calf pairs headed toward the Arctic before a fogbank stopped us for a while. Enjoyed the grass munching goats who arrived this week with a bunch of adorable kids! Happy Earth Day!
Whale watching along a beautiful bluff trail with views of Catalina Island and the Point Vicente lighthouse.
Those are my pictures of that area. Beautiful place to visit.
The lighthouse is next to this area. It is not accessible since it is Coast Guard property. The Bluffs are a great spot for whale watching. Plenty of parking available. You can even borrow a pair of binoculars in the gift shop by dropping off your license as a deposit.
One of the few places amidst the urban sprawl where one can experience a taste of what coastal California was like before the strip malls and stucco tract homes.
Beautiful place I somehow forget about. Ample parking.
A beautiful place to go and walk on the trail and thank You Jesus for every day is a fresh anointing of life in Jesus Mighty Name Amen.
Nice place and trail!
Ocean breezes & fantastic view easy walking paths
Amazing view, nice lighthouse.
I love this place, not a lot of people, cool place to just chill.
Come to watch the sun set from this beautiful park in a great location with views of the Pacific Ocean, coast line and walking paths.
Beautiful location and great walking path for anyone.
I love this place, really peaceful.
AMAZING place for a short hike. the view of the ocean is breath taking. If you are lucky you can see whales migrating and Catalina island. The hike is easy and the trail is about 2.5miles.
Beautiful open space and cliffs with walking trails
Great place come and hosting a wedding or just in town or passing by. Will be back again.
The views are magnificent. The local museum/visitor center shares a lot of local history.
Snorkling. Fishing,tide pools
I enjoy the walk, the museum and the little store. You can usually see Catalina island.
We go here to spot whales during the gray whale migration period (~Dec-May). If you hit it on a good day, youll see lots of whale activity right from the shore! Theres a bunch of volunteers that do a whale census, so keep an eye out for where theyre looking then watch for spouts/blows and flukes (where they dive deep so their tails stick out of the water.) Theres also a nice, easy trail that goes along the water... Parking is free but gets crowded on a nice weekend. There are also weddings here a bit so that will make parking tougher!
Beautiful hike and amazing views!
I mainly come during the night to stargaze due to the amazing view. The whole area seems to always be clean every time I visit, whether day or night, so thats pleasant when taking pictures of the landscape/scenery. Trails are nice and straightforward.
Cool spot to pull over along the cliffs to start a hike or take some pictures. During whale season if you bring some optics you can see whales passing between here and Catalina. This is also a good spot to go diving/spearfishing with beach access via good ol Cardiac Hill. There is also maintained restroom at the end of the parking lot if needed which is nice because of the locations isolation.
Been coming here for 11 years nice place to take a walk in the trails or hike down for a dive
Amazing place
Park and take the walk. The views are majestic.
Nice place with nice people. Museum is small, especially now since they are renovating. Went there around 11. Really nice lady who asked if it was our first time there (Ive been here before once but not with my friend) was really informative. Gave us the heads up about whale sighting and even helped us find our first whale. Really cool and neat especially since I had my monocular, while my friend rented binoculars. The other fellow whale watchers were helpful too. Had I a good camera, I woulve had great pictures of whales and dolphins.
Very scenic - great for hiking and taking photos.
Beautiful walk
Positive energy here from everyone. Overlooking view of ocean & watch the sunset. Educational opportunities in RPV Natural History Museum - Point Vicente Interpretive Center & Lighthouse (adjacent property). They lend out binoculars for viewing passing whales, dolphins, pelicans, etc. Has a park with clean but limited amount of picnic benches.
Nice place, beautiful scenery. Love living here
Perfect place to go on a run with my dog.
Excellent place to view sunset, relax and enjoy with family
Beautiful scenery. You see whales at times. Nice hiking trail
Gorgeous place to visit, especially after all the rain we recently experienced. You will not be disappointed.
Beautiful views overlooking the Pacific Ocean. At the right time of the year, you will see dolphins and whales!
Great scenic views! The center has a huge trove of information inside and beautiful views outside. Large patches of green grass as well as a free parking area. Wonderful relaxing place to visit.**Helpful? - hit the LIKE button! :)
Nice hiking sweat and relax afterwards
Short but very scenic walk!! Very beautiful. I would recommend visit to anyone
This is a very nice and beautiful location someplace to just get away from it all and just really chill out if need to clear Your mind you knowcan get a little busy here in there so keep an eye out for the that and parking is okay I was at best it is a bit of a drive but at least it is place you do get it really nice walk so if youre going to just get some fresh air and stuff you can definitely do that here
Its at the very western edge of California, and America. You feel free to leave all worries and problems behind you--because they literally are. Here its all nature--land, ocean, sky, sea animals. At Golden Cove when the late afternoon sun reflects on the sheer rock walls, they light up with a golden glow so overwhelming that its almost blinding, so wear sunglasses.Actually, the cliffs change color throughout the day--cream, brown, gray, green--and are fascinating to watch. And so are the whales, and other sea mammals passing so nonchalantly by.
Amazingly Beautiful.... Nature at its finest... Fell in love with everything about this place...its breath taking....just the perfect place to take the little ones for an exploring adventure so they can have fun and get to know and respect all the critters around us...A Great Family Friendly and Educational place to visit!
Theres so much to see there; birds, wild flowers, the ocean, the bluffs, the lighthouse... I was in awe the whole time I was there, taking pictures of the beautiful scenery. I bet watching the sunset there has to be spectacular! Highly recommended!
Love this place
Beautiful serene place for a walk
Fond memories with our Japanese friends that we miss now that were back in Virginia
Beautiful view. Great place to take family. even your dogs of course they should be on a leash. There are hiking trails, and areas for lunch, but bring plenty of water bottles as it does get warm when the sun is out. There is a light house, just no access to get inside up close..
Day after a rainstorm. Some erosion. Still a nice walk.
Its kind of just OK. We walked the ground which were beautiful. We are at Basi which was delicious but pricey, the drinks were good too, not great just good. Then we went to the lobby bar which was really cozy with fireplaces and they will when bring you blankets. Nelsons was cool too but the hostesses were weird. There was plenty of seating outside and inside and they just kept telling us there was a 30 minute wait. I kept telling them, there was tons of open seating and all she said was, let me check on it. So we left. The resort over all seems a little dated and mature. There were a lot of purple there with their families and dogs which was nice but it just seemed very old and boring.
Fantastic views of the ocean from stop the cliffs with nice long walking paths. Pet friendly park area and plenty of parking.
Good place to go get some air.... Take a walk, sit on a bench and read or write. Peaceful.
Beautiful vistas and great place to learn about the ocean! Volunteers are very helpful in showing you how to spot wildlife swimming by. We always take a picnic lunch, hike the trails or just relax in the sun or share,
Pristine and excellent place for a walk in the morning. Place for youngsters learn much about nature and environment protection.
Beautiful and calm view.
One more hiking and nature preserve site.
This is a great place to spend an afternoon on sea side with friends and family. The lighthouse is open every second Saturday morning hours. If you like that kind of things, its worth a visit.
Beautiful area, nice view, great walking place, and a nice museum.Great place to really the family on a walk!
Beautiful ocean views, native plants and the Point Vicente lighthouse. Watch the gray whale migration right off the Point and visit the small, but quite interesting interpretive center. A great spot for kids, too!
My first time visiting and it was Simply Beautiful. Enjoyed watching the sun rise, the lighthouse, and I saw a few Whales with the friendly group of Whale watchers. Will definetly be back.
This is a very beautiful spot in the area with easy hike. Perfect for a quick picnic. They also have a gift shop with historical exhibition.
Amazing place to visit and relax. Saw whales also. Nice museum. Great picnic spot too!
Beautiful location with stunning views!
Just beautiful!
The park itself is a nice public space for short walks and picnics. The trails are wide and easily accessible. Benches are spaced so hiking doesnt have to become too much of a commitment. Trails did not seem to be clearly marked where they begin/end so several times found myself wandering into the surrounding neighborhoods.
Beautiful view great simple walking trail
Gorgeous sunset views, with whale watching & a cute museum, and gift shop too! I bring all my friends & family here.
Favorite, did several paintings from here
About to be married here. Location is beautiful. The museum is great. Now is the best time for whale watching
One of my favorite trails!
Beautiful scenery.
Very peaceful! Good parking. We had a picnic and just relaxed. Excellent day!
Beautiful leisurely walk. No access to the beach. Great place to picnic, walk your dog or stroll with the kids.
Nice end peaceful place fresh air
Beautiful location for exploration in Rancho Palos Verdes on the coast.
Beautiful n Peaceful...... Great trail
Beautiful view of the ocean & Catalina plus today, whales, dolphins & pelicans.
Beautiful views of Catalina island. Nice, reasonably priced gifts in shop. Free parking.
Happy New Year Family And Friends 2019
A great place to get away from it all. Kick back for 30 or 40 minutes or longer. Very peaceful.
Plenty of parking here and the views are breathtaking. The lighthouse view is amazing and you can see out as far as your eyes can see. The best time to visit is right before sunset
Beautiful trails leading to the ocean below, some little known beaches, and caves at low tide. The trails are dog friendly on leashes. The beach by the sea cave was not.
