Amazing view of the ocean and Catalina island from a big grass field, fun little winding trail between the upper and lower fields, multiple playground sets, clean bathrooms and picnic tables. Great spot to bring the kids for a picnic or just to play for the afternoon.

This is a great place to go when you want to unwind and have a simple picnic and enjoy the cool ocean breeze. The folks here are respectful of each other and generally come here to relax with friends and family and a nice safe environment.Weve had two picnics here this summer already and loved it.

Love coming to this park. There are little trails that go up and down the mountain. Also because of covid there are one way signs which we really liked.

Another great park in the South Bay! Wide open spaces with a childrens play area, picnic benches, spots to sit and check out the amazing ocean view, walking paths and shade trees. Nice place to stroll with dogs or take the kids. Plenty of parking and two ways to enter and exit.

Beautiful park despite everything being roped off due to the Corona virus. Few visitors which made for a lovely walk. Loved the trees and flowers. Will be back soon!

It is an amazing place for proposals or meditating. Sunsets make it worth it otherwise its just a good view with the ocean. During this pandemic there are no inside places to look into but it is a great mildly strenuous path.

Such a nice park. Everything about this park is nice, even the parking lot is beautiful. Flat paved walking paths as well as dirt hiking trails on the hill. Baseball diamond, large green field surrounded by trees for shady area to sit. Childrens play area. Community center. All overlooking the ocean. What more do you need?!

Beautiful, sweeping views of the ocean. Upper track around a baseball field, and lower dirt trails for ocean and hillside views. BUNNIES!!! A nice picnic area and playground for when covid-19 dissipates.

One of the nicest public parks I’ve been to. Great for kids and adults alike. Clean play area for kids and an amazing view to enjoy while you push your little one on the swings.

Terrible, horrible, place!! Vicious rattlesnakes, ugly kids, toxic debris everywhere! No easy parking, intrusive video surveillance, and Rangers with nail-studded clubs. . . Do not visit this park! (if you care at all about yourself or your family)

Its very peaceful and quiet. Theres a playground and picnic area with views of the ocean.The grocery store is only a quarter mile south and theres a 7/11 about half a mile north of the park.

I dont like this park. Too many people here and no privacy.

I went there for a memorial service for a friend of mine. I understand why he loved the area The views are spectacular The neighborhood is nice and quiet the facilities are wonderful. I suggest that you go there on a clear day because you can see all the way up Santa Monica Bay to Malibu.

The day we went it was really foggy and chilly. The fog covered the view of the Pacific Ocean. I didnt hike the trails but want to come back and try it.

Nice park for walk and play

This park has amazing views. You feel like you are on top of the world looking over the ocean. Very well maintained. Didnt see a bathroom there, but I also didnt stay too long.

Great for kids, they really enjoy the playground. Only problem is that people will show up to claim tables hours in advance of their use; it seems theres no rule against that yet.

A great place to kick a soccer ball around, fly a kite, play baseball with your kids, walk your dog and more.

This place is truly beautiful! Even during this heat wave, no one felt the sweltering heat that everyone else fekt in the surrounding areas. It was cool and refreshing because of the sea breeze...love it!

Plenty of Parking at the park. The park has one huge grass field that is decently cut. There is only a baseball field within that field. The park also includes a trail that lead lower to the beach.Has a very nice scenic view of the ocean.

I like this park. It is built into a hillside in Palos Verdes, and it is very nicely maintained. There are a couple of playgrounds here, but I think the big attraction is the community center. They host a lot of events here, including community meetings, nature hikes and lectures, and various classes. The views from the main building are amazing, as youd expect in PV. The staff are friendly and helpful as well. They also offer free WiFi. If you have an event coming up, I recommend giving this place some thought as your venue.

Lower Hesse Park is officially open for biz, kids (as of last summer - Im a little slow).The lower section of the park used to be filled with wildflowers, as can be seen in my photos of 11 years ago. Gone now. The space looks more landscaped, sadly, and they added a parking lot.They paved paradiseAnd put up a parking lot- Joni MitchellAbout that lot: It aint paved. Its covered with serious big gravel mixed with chunks of sharp rigid plastic. Dont go in there, like I did, unless you be drivin a tank. I was the only car in that lot today for a reason. (Free street parking surrounds the lower park & the upper park has a paved lot.)That volleyball net or whatever it is has been refurbished. Good, cuz it was pretty sad years ago.And now theres a little bridge I dont recall seeing before.Best views are from the upper section of the park, off course.So overall I liked the lower park better before it was improved but the entire place is still a 5-star community park.

Beautiful baseball diamond, great community center, great playground....but really, you cant ride a bicycle at a park?!?! I guess Ill have my kids learn to ride on Hawthorne Blvd.

Like this park a lot. Always full of people. Take my kids here to practice baseball. Word of caution...the main walking path doesn’t allow anything with wheels. I’d rather see kids using bikes and scooters but I guess there’s been to many collisions with older folks! So come for sports but not with bikes, etc.

Very nice see view. have big playground area, few child play area, few amount of seats, tables and BBQ. Lot of ants climping on seat and tables. Restrooms close at 8pm.

By Southern California standards, this is a very nice park. By the standard of the rest of the West Coast, its mediocre.

Excellent weather greeted my grandsons. They played on the equipment for about 45 minutes but the 9 year old lost interest.

Hidden sunset views. Peaceful place to visit for a solo day trip. Surrounding Beach clifs are also really nice. The drive up the hill reminded me of somewhere, familiar, like a homey mid west feeling. Helped my homesickness a bit!

Fond memories with our friends from Japan and became like family to my son and I.

I like to walk here on the trail. They upgraded the trail during the summer. The views from the hill to the ocean are great.

When people say beautiful, it doesnt quite capture it. I want to propose in this park. Its so pristine and perfect. The perfect get away from your life and the perfect spot to tell that girl thats been hanging around you want her to hang around for the rest of her life.

Good for walks, jogging, yoga and meditation. I see many people walking on the trails and the upper feild area. Great place to take kids or to hang out. Upper feild area has baseball area and there are swings, slides and an area for little little kids. :)

Nice small park. You can BBQ, there are picnic tables, a large field, bleachers, and a track. Smells very nice because of the jasmine and other flowers and it is well maintained. Also there are clean restrooms.
