With the help of over 65 volunteers a public arts project has been finished at Ryan Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Funding was granted by the city council. The project was carried out by the Parks and Recreation department. I personally budgeted and led the project as a city employee. The mural is a representation of the Rancho Palos Verdes Blue Butterfly. It is the most endangered butterfly in the world. Children can stand in front of the butterfly and be photographed looking like they have wings. It is a nice memory to take away from a wonderful day visiting the park.

This park had a beautiful view to the beach and also a beautiful light tower... the park have big parking lot for free it have some table for picnic. i really enjoyed the time with my family in there .

This is a beautiful park with a well maintained lawn and partial oceanview. It offers a huge green space, big mature trees and lot of shade, ideal for social distancing.

One of my favorite parks in PV neighborhood. The park is supposed clean and extremely well maintained. The park overlooks the scenic drive from Hawthorne going into Palos Verdes and is a great place to get a birds eye view of the Pacific ocean. The kids play area is fantastic and you can rent toys from the park administration office. Fond memories of visiting this park so many times in the last few years.There is also a basketball court for folks to play.

Nice big park with a decent amount of parking. Brought my pup here and was able to keep her off leash to play some fetch with no one causing any problems!

Pretty view but a lot of stairs from the parking lot to the rent room spaces/bathrooms THEN a lot more stairs to get to the ACTUAL park and playground(s)

Beautiful park with a playground, baseball field and basketball court.It is surrounded by trees and has views of the ocean.There is plenty of parking and a great place for local families to bring their children.

My wife and I had our daughters birthday here in the community center. The space was the size of a small preschool classroom with three tables, kid chairs, (bring your own chairs if your bottom cannot fit in one or if you have physical challenges) sink, fridge, 2 trashcans (which you have to take out when done), counters, very large outdoor patio, restrooms, and a playground/park with beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean.Id give them a 5 star however we felt like we were rushed with the time that was allowed. We happen to be the only party that got out of there on time. So I can see where the being rushed feels come in to play. Be aware of that factor if you dont feel that the time allowed is not efficient.

Nice, clean, quiet & safe place to enjoy your kids. There are nice BBQ grills and pits too.Caution: when the park staff(its PV, of course theres staff) tells you the gates are gonna lock at 6:30, they do not mean 6:30.plus 15 seconds. Those gates lock. Everything not outside the gates starts inside until morning.

I have a 4 & 5 yo and they love this park. The bathroom facilities are always clean and staff is onsite if there are cleanliness issues. The office has sand toys and other park items available for check out during your park visit. They have green-space and ample shade trees. We moved in November, so not sure how busy they get in summer time, but we frequent this park a few times a month.

Lots of grass for pet play, basketball court and clean bathrooms.

Multitude of playground sections. Lots of soft green grass and climbing structures and trees.Walking back to the parking lot can be a pain due to the many stairs to climb.I wish there was parking closer to the playground. It would make a difference when navigating with a toddler and all the luggage required.

Love this park. We just moved to the community and love how everyone is so nice. The park is so clean and well kept. We are thinking of having our birthday parties here. Great peek a boo views of the oceans.

This is a great local park! The whole park is set into the hills in Palos Verdes overing the ocean, so there are some great views. There are fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, and play apparatus. I really like that the pay apparatus are themed to look like pirate ships. You can borrow sports equipment from the staff, and there are available bathrooms and water fountains. There are also picnic areas with grills for cooking. On a nice day, this is a hard park to beat. Just bring a jacket because the breeze off the ocean can be chilly.

Beautiful park that is well maintained. The grass needs to be leveled to the sandbox to prevent tripping hazards for toddlers, and some pieces of equipment need repair. Quiet and peaceful park with a great view though.

Lovely park.A playground with 2 stations, lots of picnic tables, some grills, massive amount of grass and greenery, a good amount of trees if youre looking for shaded areas, and a large section in the back- off to the right- if youre looking for privacy.If youll be in that area, please keep the noise level down. There is a golf course on one side and backyards/homes on the other. ;)One issue (that cant be helped), the whole park is on a downward sloping hill, so you park and enter at the top, then you have to walk down a good amount of steps (or a ramp) just to get to the bathrooms/office/basketball courts, then more steps to get to the playground. If you want to go further into the grassy area, more downwards.This can be tough if you decided to picnic and are now bringing everything back up. Even worse if your toddler took you down there to explore and now refuses to walk back!!
