Great hike to the overlook, only took me 30 minutes to get there. On the way back, I recommend taking a right and going on the horse flats trail. In the summer the Aspens there are great, and lots of ferns under the shade.
Super fun hike and not crowded at all! Would recommend
Beautiful hike through the trees 2irh amazing views at the end. Well worth it.
We took this trail for the first time today, As avid hikers, we were pleasantly surprised at the prize at the end(the view/overlook). We logged just over 4 miles because we walked around a bit off trail exploring along the way. I think if you stuck to the trail it would be just over 3 miles round trip. For a short hike, it is an amazing hike. Plenty of shade along the way, and the views from the overlook are incredible. You can see all the way to Deer Creek Reservoir & the Heber Valley. We seen lots of children(of all ages) and lots of people with dogs. Not counting our time at the overlook, it took us 40 minutes each direction with no children and not pushing ourselves.
Skip the crowded Stewart Falls hike and mosey out to this beautiful panoramic vista overlooking the entire Wasatch Back. Youre high above Sundance and Aspen Grove at the end of the hike and the majesty of the Timps backside soars above you in all its grandeur.Drive up to the top of the Alpine Loop, park in the lot at the summit. The trailhead starts right at the parking lot on the south side. Follow the trail signs to Horse Flat. I call portions of this hike The Time Machine Trail due to the many initials and dates carved into the Aspen trees from young lovers decades back. Please dont add anymore initials. Its about a 20-25 min hike to Horse Flat with another 20-25 mins to Primrose Overlook. Just stay on the trail and youll end up at the overlook. Some portions of the hike are stiff with some good elevation gain but are short in duration. Plan on 1.5-2 hours roundtrip.
Great view of Timpanogos
Amazing view, I will definitely go back.
Good hike, plenty of great views of high mountain meadows and the back of timp mountain. Great view from the overlook.
Great little viewpoint! Short hike - 4 miles round trip from the summit parking lot.
Beautiful 369° views! Well worth the short strenuous hike up to it.
Leisurely trail with an incredible view at the end.
Great hike! Ive loved here my whole life and this was a first. Definitely worth it!
This is a non-technical hike that requires a moderate amount of exertion. The trail takes you through several beautiful meadows and ends with a breathtaking view that spans from Mt. Timpanogas to Wallsburg. This is a great hike to do at different times of the year to see how much the landscape changes. On our last hike we witnessed a herd of two dozen elk running down a hill, it was awesome.I recommend using hiking sticks and good hiking boots as some of the hills are covered in silt and it can be challenging to get a good footing.
Beautiful spot! Best visited with skis.
Great Saturday morning trail run.
Not a difficult hike, but the sweeping views were extraordinary! Fall colors in the aspens were beautiful.
Beautiful hike to a magnificent view of the backside of Mt. Timpanogos. Started at the summit trailhead off the Alpine Loop. A 1.5 mile hike to the overlook. Wildflowers were amazing!
Outstanding look at Alpine grove trail to Timp
Quick and easy trail with a beautiful view at the end.
Short hike with a great 360 view at the end!
The trail from Summit Trailhead gets quite steep toward the end, but Primrose Overlook is spectacular. May consider using bug repellent, as the mosquitos are pretty thick around the small basins and clearings along the way.
Beautiful
Beautiful hike!
