Great stop to start your day at Olympic National Park. Maps and general guiding for the park is available right as you get out of your car. Due to covid, the station was closed to be able to buy souvenirs or anything other than books, but a ranger was there to help if needed. Only issue I had was that the water fountains werent working.

Visited in Aug 2020, while under the CDC and state guidelines. An outdoor booth is set up with 2 staff members available to answer questions, provide brochures and a small selection of souvenirs for purchase. The restrooms were well ventilated and maintained clean. Behind the center is also the wilderness permit and bear cannisters are available for rent. Its a very nice center serving as your first stop before heading into the many places you can explore within the Park.

Beautiful park but lot of drive inside you need multiple days to cover.. if planning to go from Seattle make sure you have enough time as the shortest drive route include Ferry ride.. going there in morning is good but while coming back its lot of wait time so visit with extra time . Everything ferry is over booked and have to wait 2 hrs to get in.. else its a beautiful visit .

Contains a nice little info center with several things for the kids to see and do. The ranger was extremely friendly and helpful as well. There are 2 or 3 hikes of varying length that begin from the visitor center, including a half mile hike with just the right amount of distance and adventure for Families with kids (5 and up).

I dont really know if I can describe this place in a review. Its just flat out breathtaking everywhere you go. It has endless trails and places to discover. Everything is picturesque and beautiful beyond belief. I wouldnt recommend staying here for fewer than 2 days - youll really miss out on all the natural delight that this great state has to offer.

Great national park with two distinct parts. One is along the coast. Sandy shores with rocky outcrops. The tall ones in the waves are known as sea stacks. The part more inland has woods that get a lot of rain, so theres a lot of moss, and lush vegetation.

Gotta love nature. And the hall of moses during sunset is pretty cool, if your into the weird spooky trees. This is the rain forest, so summer time can be extremely hot. Like anytime youre hiking, always bring plenty of water and remember it gets darker faster in the woods.

Cannot wait to come back here. Only had about 5 hours to explore, but we plan to return. Lush forests and an incredible amount of beauty. We traveled along the 101 and explored some of the highlights. Even the trip up the Olympic peninsula was a pleasure with the changing fall colors. Highly recommended national park.

Very nice visitor center, friendly staffs. Large bathrooms outside the visitor center building, adjacent to the parking lot. Plenty of parking at least during an end of March visit. Its easy to find from Port Angeles, off highway 101.There are a few exhibits in the visitor center - roosevelt elk, cougar, whale hunting boat, and skulls of various animals. The road to hurricane ridge is drivable at this time, but we did not attempt as its probably still mostly snow covered at the top.

I visited here on a rainy Christmas day 2019. They were closed but there was a nice walk path behind the visitor center in to the woods. A short path, I think less than a half mile but I got to see huge fallen trees and mushrooms, ferns as tall as me. My kids and I really enjoyed it a lot. It felt as though we were walking through a jungle because no one was there due to Christmas holiday. Damp and wet forest full of green plants is almost never seen from where we live (so.cal) so it was real special for us

Several biomes: want ocean? Want sub Alpine mountains? Want rainforest? This park has them all. Absolutely breathtaking views-and some hairy trails along obstruction path. Moose lake is can and serene, with a well maintained campsite. In mid June, temperatures at night dropped (possibly; I was told by another hiker this) below freezing, or at most low thirties, with any wind being frigid and biting; come prepared for this. We hiked a trail though the Hoh rainforest as well, I cant recall the name, but it was just gorgeous at every turn.

The National Park Service still hasnt figured out how to implement a system to allow visitors into the museum/store/permit and trail info center in PA but you the café at Hurricane Ridge is open to expose thousands of people daily to each other. One is run by the NPS. The other is a private business on contract. I LOVE, value, engage with, and financially support NPs and other non-commercial public lands. There are not easy solutions here. And its obvious the solutions in place are not the outcome diverse, informed experts planning adaptively. It reeks of a top-down, slow, rigid decision making model. It protects employees but not visitors. It drastically cut the services to visitors (safety, education, trail/permit info, etc) without implementing any of the proven protective measures for the packed in like sardine parking lots, bathrooms, and the short hikes around NPS facilities. Still beautiful. Still nature. Still financially and beauracratically broke and COVID magnifies the NPS worst long term issues.

This is a ginormous National Park. It is definitely now one of my favorite National Parks. There is so much you can see and do here. I went to three parks and I will talk about them briefly and include one picture from each spot. I saw the rainforest which was awesome and something completely different from everything I have seen before, this was my favorite part. I also saw the beach, with the rocks with trees growing on them, which was a fun little walk, and there was a bald eagle there. Finally I went to the hurricane ridge trail, and let me tell you it was freezing, but the views were good! This is an amazing national park and you should definitely go.
