Its a typical Washington beach. Foggy and cool on a summer day. The beach has sandy stretches and rough rocky bluffs. Plenty of driftwood to sit on. The beach can be accessed from the campground and several parking areas outside the campground. There is no fee or pass required for day use. Check the tides before going.
Great camping area. They offer both primitive and partial hookup sites (water and power). The views of the Straits are excellent and there are multiple access points to go down by water to see tide pools etc. There is a hiking trail from the WWII bunkers to Crescent Bay Beach area about 3/4 miles total. Another hike is more challenging up to a scenic viewpoint above the camp area. Excellent bathrooms with showers available. Well maintained area too.
Best to visit during low tide for a day visit. Cool campsites, lots of trees. RV camping is pretty out in the open though.
Such a beautiful spot. Quiet with lots of trails, beach and stuff to explore.
Absolutely beautiful! They also have a handful of first come first serve tent sites!
Great campsites and good restrooms. Showers are available for 25 cents per 2 mins, but both lower campsites drains were clogged when we arrived. Campsites seem to be all full by 5:30/6pm so get there earlier than 5 to guarantee a spot.
Was a beautiful place. Enjoyed our time
The view is spectacular, very Zen ️, and the salt water in the air calms the spirit. Great hikes for a beginner (like myself) but pretty and nice enough to go back as a stroll for more experienced hikers. Nice place for a picnic and chill just watching the water, or nestel amongst the trees. Many exciting beach finds and nice learning place for kids to check out tide pools, but please respect nature and her creatures and be gentle and if you pack it in, pack it out
Beautiful area. At first we werent sure that walking and driving through a campground would be fine. But it was as a few parking areas were labeled for the public. Be aware of the tides!! Hit the shore around low tide to be able to walk.
Really nice campgrounds within earshot of the ocean waves and great views, however the (free) beach area is pretty small because most of it is private and charges per person for main beach access.
Off the hook. Beautiful. Just like I the movies. Maybe we need to keep this one a secret. We found it only be chance and are completely blown away. We are coming back In October when its stormy.
Cool place to get out and explore. Lots of wildlife. No birds though.
This area of Juan de fuca is pristine! Go down to the tide pools. The campsite is really nice as well
My favorite campground in Western Washington! We go every year. Its absolutely gorgeous and has something for the whole family. Basketball hoops, volleyball net, playground, WWII bunkers, tide pools, sand beach, spectacular views of BC, plenty of water to go kayaking, paddle boarding, boating, I can go on and on!
Great spot for a day trip or camping. Lots to explore near the water. There and many tide pools. Also a play park for the kiddos. Well worth it! Day use is free.
Beautiful site with great hiking, views, and what looks like a pretty great campground. Visited a few days ago and the weather was perfect, sunny with a fantastic view of the water, see the photos for more!
Lovely park, and so much history and fascinating remains. The old bunkers are amazing in how big they are, how fast they were built, and how fast they were deemed useless thanks to modern missiles. It is also a stern reminder that our freedom and safety in the USA is not a given. The Straight Views are fantastic and the coves are lovely for walks. Keep the tides in mind.
Good place. Due to state park closie8not much stuff to do but it was still nice place to visit
Great mellow day hike, the hidden beach is super cool, unfortunately my wife got attacked by the infamous wasps that are along the peak trail. Stay safe and no bright clothing!
Awesome place lots of side cliff area to get close to the water lots of sea life to see you can also camp id look online to see how much. Not to packed either an there is alot of cliff side views
Great camping for the whole family! Beach, tide pools, playground, bunkers, RV hookups, well kept shower facility!
Excellent campground - clean facilities, free dump station, beautiful view of the ocean, tons of walk up availability.
My family and I visited last weekend, after checking the website (which indicated that the park was open for day-use only). Unfortunately, we arrived only to see that the main entrance to where the campgrounds are was coned off and inaccessible by car. We did end up parking down the road a bit (closer to the private campground) and were able to access the beaches where people were SUP/surfing, but, having a toddler with us, we werent able to walk into the main area for tidepool viewing, very disappointing. I wanted to share our experience so others will know before they make the drive for a visit!
This is the best place to go on vacation. Not very far away from Seattle, it is a park on the coast and is great for tidepooling. Here you can see all kinds of marine life such as anemones, urchins, LOTS of crabs, and more. You can also hike a mile through what seems like a fairytale land to get to a cove, where I saw a seal and jellyfish. Everything about this park is beautiful. Definetely 5 stars!
There is no other place in WASHINGTON STATE like this park. Its the best tide pool viewing in the country. Finally open for camping. Drive through or walk through. It takes all day to see the whole park,if you like. Come at low tide if you can.
The beach and tide pools are very accessible. The camp is kept clean. Beautiful area!
Salt Creek is one of my absolute favorite places to go! My dog loves it and I love the tide pools. I’ve always enjoyed my visits.
This place has all the majesty of the west coast of Washington without actually having to drive there.A real hidden treasure.
Amazing place for a picnic with great views easy tide pools access from multiple points. Two WW2 16 inch gun enplacements and a few smaller bunkers. Over all an awesome place oh and theres a playground for the kids. Some nice hiking trails as well.
Lots of stiff to do here, but most of of it closed for COVID at the moment. There is a beach, tide pools, WW2 bunkers and gun positions to explore. Also lots of camping and RV spots as well as showers. Highly recommended.
Appears to have good amenities for campers. Beautiful rocky watersedge. My husband and I enjoyed a picnic lunch here. Other families visiting te park looked happy. Hiking trail nearby is always aplus with me.
Great picnic spot with a view over the bluffs to the Straits of Juan de Fuca. Camping mostly of the RV set packed together with little to no separation in full sun (during good weather..lol) but great views. A few spots in the shade under trees for tent campers. Playground for the kids and a short walk down to the rocks to see tide pools.
Very picturesque beach, and there were lots of surfers to watch.
Great view! Great camping! Beautiful nature walks!
If you havent visited this park then your really missing out on a treasure. Just a short 20 min drive from PA and the beach is sandy. Also a great kids swimming hole with knee deep water really fun. No pass required its a county park.
Beautiful place to visit. It wasn’t too busy and was an easy walk.
Great beach and tide pools, nice campground as well!
Great! Coin operated showers, clean bathroom, beautiful view and attentive on site ranger
Awesome beach combing at -2.7 tide.
We hiked down to the mouth of Salt Creek where it joins the strait. Lots of pretty driftwood, lots of fun rocks to clamber over. Super cold water in early March. Great to stop at if youre on your way through, but a bit of a trek if its the only thing on your itinerary for the day.
Best kept secret in PA. Saw bald eagles soaring along the beach today.
Gorgeous park with a beach, trails, views, and free public day use and parking.
Always forget about the great jams we have in our back yard. Most any time of year and most any tide, this is a great place to visit and enjoy the nature around the salt water! Surfing/boogy boarding sand castles feeling the waves on your skin....I love it! Every visit I remind myself to return much sooner!
My favorite spot to walk along the beach and take my dogs, most everyone that goes there are friendly and respectful.
Great day, Great place!
Nice place to spend a couple hours, not a lot of parking spaces.
Beautiful Beach and Tide Pools
Wonderful campground. It was clean, beautiful and the staff were so friendly.
Clean area, great beach with great views of sunset. Check out the WWII history in the area. Talk to the locals.
This place has excellent tide pools, with a wide assortment of sea life. There are lots of anemones, crabs, snails, sculpin, chitons, mussels, all kinds of creatures. If you like tide pools, this is the place for you.
So beautiful! There is literally a creek that runs into the ocean. It has a nice beach and huge rock formations also.
Favorite place in the world!
Quaint - nice sites but mosquitos!
Decent surf spot but watch the surf reports closely especially in the summer months.
Beautiful day use area and campground
Awesome place. The old military bunkers and wildlife add to its beauty.
Absolutely beautiful, dog friendly, many bathrooms and campsites(RV and tent), tidepools, and trails.
Loved it here! Went there during low tide and it was gorgeous! Quite a bike ride to get there though! Up and down hill and about a 45 minute ride one way. But absolutely worth it. Sun sets behind the mountains. Something to keep in mind.
Loved the place, its right next to the beach. Lot of picnic amenities as well as RV hookups. Showers are also onsite. The day when I visited this place it was not crowded as well there was no entry fee. I can imagine this place to be a family hotspot during the summers. Lush green forests right next to it. Beautiful indeed.
Its scenic and beautiful all around.
My dog and I enjoy the day, so beautiful
The view is gorgeous, hiking is fantastic, and we loved the tide pools!
Beautiful place to explore tide pools and climb rocks. Scenery is gorgeous.
Sasquatching with shimmer the sashaquach hunter lol.
The most perfect spot in all of Washington.
Its Stunningly Beautiful!! Whale watching, surfing, hiking, camping and killer tide pools. Quite a magnificent place.
Nice hike around the beach. Go when the tide is out.
Clean and well maintained RV park/campground
Beautiful Pacific Northwest Beach. Amazing views. Kids love it. Good parking availability most times, but it does get full on the weekends if the weather is nice.
Too many rules and patrolling. Cabins are over priced but nice. Picturesque beach, the North West style, appropriate for exploring, kayaking and even surfing property equiped.
Beautiful view. Easy access to water.
Tide was out so got to wonder a little father than usual. And see a little sea life. It was nice.
Lovely spot!
Great place to hike the beach, camp, and watch the sunset
This is one place that feels off the beaten path of many coastal towns. It feels a lot more removed like it was about 30 years ago. Area is nice and secluded and theres not too many people in this particular area. If you want to get away to really get lost and to hear yourself think for a very long period of time, this is probably the place to go. The area is very Scenic and fun and adventurous to look around.but also cozy and very Scenic.
Beautiful place! Very calming.
Beautiful area and great for families! Shallow waters of the river for kids to play in, as well as rocks to climb and tide pools! There is also a playground and a covered party area on the upper level
Clean bathrooms, good views
This place has such variety of terrain. Its archetypal washington coast.
Beautiful place to camp and visit
The best recreation area in the state. Lots of trails, camp sites, tide pools, and even a play ground for the kiddos.
Come at low tide to explore all of the tide pools.
Great little hideout.
So beautiful I am so glad we found this amazing calm place
Refreshing to be out in enjoying the fresh air and ocean.
Such a beautiful place.
Great views, the kids had fun finding seashells and rocks.
This is one of the prettiest camp grounds in Washington. I come here every year for a cross country meet. The views are just stunning.
Wow, wow, WOW!!! I could have spent all day wandering around here:) loved it
Beautiful place. Great to take the whole family too.
Very nice park with good facilities. Has play ground, basketball court and open spaces for kids. Great tide pools a short walk from the campgrounds. Good views of the water from many of the sites.
This is an incredible beach!
One of my favorite places in Washington
Beautiful, scenic. Wildlife, trees, salt and surf.
What a great place to go. Had a public bathroom and can go clamming during low tide. Or just the perfect spot to get away from the heat
This place is fabulous. Great beach. Have to walk a little bit and then this great beach. Flat. Sandy. Huge. Loved it.
Such a great stopping place. Take your time and enjoy the area
