Fantastic place. Beautiful. Great for jumping into the deep blue water. Trail is currently closed, but as long as construction crew is not present its totally safe to go there.
We boated in from the resort and anchored down for some fun in the sun! Folks were jumping from bridge and side of cliff and having a blast. Lake Crescent is a beyond beautiful place and playing on and in the water on a sunny day cant be beat! This is also accessible by foot trail. Just park and walk in along the lake path and enjoy a jump in the water as a reward!
Super deep, bright blue glacial water. There are rocks to climb and leap from, as well as the bridge just a few feet above the surface. Lake Crescent is over 600 ft deep in some places; don’t wear jewelry in this lake because if you lose it it’s gone forever!
The water color was absolutely beautiful. Great short hike to the bridge. Do not listen to google maps and continue straight to private property as it tells you to. Park at the trail parking and head up. The tunnel will take you parallel to the bridge and you will miss it or if you go through the tunnel you will have to take the trail back on the left. Instead of the tunnel going left right away will get you across the bridge.
WOW.... this place has it all. Crystal clear Fresh deep blue water to chill in summer and with breath taking view. A lot of people get confused with the trail, so let me give you some direction- take the trail to the left of the Tunnel(you dont have to go inside the tunnel) But If you want to go in the Tunnel(for fun), then take the left trail immediately after the tunnel ends instead of going straight! There is a cliff you can jump from, if you know how to jump. If not then there is a smaller jumping points as well. Some people jump from the bridge. If you are not into jumping from any of those, no worries you can just get into the water and enjoy the view!
The water is like blue Kool Aid and so warm during the summer. It can get a little crowded on weekends, considering the bridge can only allow so many people on it at once. Worth it!
Very calm place to take in the sight of Crescent Lake. Accessible by trail or water
Breathtaking views here.
Such a beautiful colorful spot on a dreary day! About 15 min walk from the entrance of the trail.
Beautiful hike along the trail. The water is so blue and clear you can see forever into the water to the sunken trees below. Great hike for families and kids
Beautiful bridge with people jumping in the water.
This is a great stop along the Spruce River Trail. The head of the trail is not where google has it marked. It is just past the Log Cabin Resort. Also, true location of the punchbowl is not well marked on the trail. When you come to the tunnel (about a mile from the trailhead) take the trail AROUND the tunnel to reach the punchbowl. The trail is wide and paved untimely you get past the tunnel (where it narrows and is dirt). Would go again
Great trail even for dogs in strollers.
Pretty little find along Lake Crescent. Make sure you take the trail around the tunnel or youll miss it.
Great place to swim and jump off the bridge. And a big rock you can jump off of 2 if youre brave!
Beautiful place to go for a walk and swim. The water is clear and beautiful. The path is well taken care of as well.
Short walk from the head of the spruce railroad trail to the devils punchbowl. Its beautiful, the color of the lake really comes through. Its just a really lovely spot to view lake crescent
Absolutely amazing surroundings! My kids loved it so much we went back 3 days later. No park pass or fee to enter. Swimming hole is approximately a mile from parking. Trail is flat and maintained. Very clean out houses.
Very hard to find, a really difficult hike, adventurers only! If you dont plan on swimming youre not doing it right.
Fun easy family hike
Fun hike,; Punch bowl is a fun place for kids to jump into Crescent Lake.
It is a beautiful place. You have to take the lakeside trail instead of the tunnel to get there.
Great place for an easy fun hike, able to get to the water fairly easily in different locations
Quite a trick to find, you hike down the path to the tunnel, then around the left on the path that isnt very obvious. But an AMAZING location! Great view of the mountains, the punch bowl bridge is a great photo OP... Just dont drop your phone in!
My favorite place to visit at Lake Crescent
Like a page from Huckleberry Finn. Just one of the features to see along the Spruce Railroad trail. 2 refurbished train tunnels now open. Best views of Lake Crescent. Very well maintained trail. Continuation of trail is planned, but whats there now is more than enough.
Beautiful! Nice walk on the Spruce Trail
Great place to swim and jump off rocks!
The greatest swimming hole ever. One of the best hidden away places to take your family. Bring food and drinks. Go early. You will spend the entire day.
I love this place. Been jumping off this club since I was a kid
The hike in is really easy. The hardest part is a slight climb just before the bridge. We went there at night, for photography. But with a 1.5 mile hike to get back to the car, and hearing some wildlife moving around not too far from us, we left before I got the photos I was looking for. I would definitely recommend it during the day though! The tunnel was really cool though, and the bridge and water were amazing.
Make sure to explore this path as well as the big railroad tunnel next to it. Beautiful.
Such a beautiful place!!
Beautiful scenery. Great walk along the lake.
Really nice hike at a little over a mile from the parking area. Modest elevation gain. The first part of the trail was recently improved and might even be wheelchair accessible. The second part of the trail is much less improved and can be quite muddy after rain. The bridge is very scenic and makes a nice destination.
Park at the east spruce railroad trailhead. Its a relaxing, one mile, flat hike out to the punch bowl. Before entering into the dark tunnel, take a left and youll come to a bridge where the punch bowl is. The color of the water is gorgeous!
Fun lil hike!
Delightful small swimming hole at Cressent Lake. Very refressing.
So beautiful and well kept pathway! Short but fun hike!
Fantastic place and walk.
Beautiful views, but they need to mark the trail better.
This is my happy place
Amazing!
Love,love,loveA must see
Used to quite place, perfect for hiking walking trail and enjoy the beautiful lake, but not anymore. Too crowded now, too many people and teenagers party and play the music and drinking
Loved this place!!!
Beautiful and cold... worth jumping into
Nice hidden gem.
Pretty cool spot
Awesome cold wata
Lake Crescents hidden gem! Water so blue I couldnt believe it! Terrific forest to trek through and even noticed a hidden cave along the path. A quiet nice place to collect your thoughts and feel at peace.
Beautiful and Fun side trail . While visiting the Tunnel.
Used to like it better before half of the trail was expanded and graveled but its still a beautiful light hike. And the punch bowl had gorgeous blue green water that is so clear.
Beautiful views. Nice walk.
If you go through the first tunnel, turn around and take the small path along the lake shore.
Beautiful views and the water is crystal clear.
Great spot to jump in, gets kind of crowded though.
Gorgeous!
Beautiful hike
A scenic, fun, and fairly accessible destination along the Spruce Railroad Trail (part of the Olympic Discovery Trail) around Lake Crescent. The actual punchbowl is deep enough that you will sometimes see people jumping from the bridge and the rocky prominence on the southern side of the bridge into the water, which is crystal blue. This is a fairly common place for people to stop at on the trail, and when out in boats.Due to being mostly along an old railroad grade the accessing trail has very little elevation change, and recent improvements are making it even more accessible. From the northern end of the trail -- East Beach Road -- the punchbowl is a modest mile with only two hills. Recent improvements to the trail have made the first half of this far more accessible, however there remains one fairly steep hill right before the punchbowl. One may notice that directly before this big hill there the remains of an old railroad tunnel to the right of the trail, which is the route the spruce railroad took around the point the punchbowl is on.
The water was an Unbelievable shade of blue.
Great day hike with a beautiful swimming area. Not wheelchair or stroller friendly.
Fun place to dive off of the rocks into the deep, blue-green water from various different heights. Assessable by walking, biking or boating.
Amazing blue green water and cliffs with a fairly easy hike in and out
Water was great for swimming in. Recommend jumping off the bridge!
Great place to jump in!
Cool place to swim and look at the lake
Beautiful!
Great place for the kids to play
Jump!! Been going since I was a kid
Love it
Beautiful. Fun.
Great cliff jumping spot
Good view point
