I love stopping at the pier when I come through Port Angeles gives me a chance to try to conquer my fear of climbing to the top of the tower. But once you get to the top of the tower the view is spectacular a complete 360-degree View another amazing beautiful sight is the murals painted on the wall of the museum
This is a good remembrance of the old Port Angeles. Wooden dock, great lookout for view. The problem is, like much of Port Angeles, it could be amazing, with some modern advancements and upkeep and just... isn’t. Port Angeles forgot to move on with the century. Overall there is nothing *wrong* with the City Pier. It’s sturdy. It’s a pier. There’s a view of the ocean, some picnic tables, a public restroom that sometimes is clean with toilet paper. Eh.
It use to be a very beautiful place to go. But now people have trashed it and I dont feel safe bring my kids down there anymore.
Nice place to toss out some crab pots!First time crabbing for us. Ended up with a great meal out of it from the fresh caught crab!
The locals were nice and would answer our questions about the fishing and crabbing. Saw a sea lion in the water. Parking was easy and the pier was clean.
The place is nice and clean and close to restaurants and grocery stores
Lovely day to go for a walk. Clean and great views.
Best place for fishing with beautiful views 360 degrees
Love going to the pier to just relax and think.
Nice..need more parking.
Wonderful waterfront with plenty of picnic tables and benches to relax and take in the gorgeous views.
We stayed the night in port angeles and got up early to go down to the pier and get some sunrise photos and we were not disappointed! The morning views on the pier and beach were amazing.! If your in town in the a.m. go down and check out the sunrise its most definitely worth 1000 words. The sunsets were beautiful also. The pier is very clean and a well planned layout. The beach was clean as well.
A nice place to take a walk
Easy accessible and convenient beautiful view
It was raining..no fish.. would come back
Big pier and observation deck for people to relax & fish. Could use a few more parking spaces.
Very good place for visitors to explore. Includes a marine science center lab and boat docks for transient moorage. Oar your dingy in today and try the snack bar at the Landing Mall.
It’s a nice place to hang out, but it’s pretty mediocre for a pier. For one, the pier is really short. There is a viewing platform you can climb up. You get a view of a sparse harbor, the fading cityscape of Port Angeles, and the local waterfront. You can see Victoria and Vancouver Island on a clear day, but there are so many other better places to get that view.
Awesome place to visit, great downtown area and right close to the Coho Ferry that leaves to Victoria Canada daily
Lookout tower with amazing views. Nice little beach. There are restrooms. Murals and sculptures are very nice. Walking path along beach. The only down side was people begging for money and cigarettes. It is sad but it seems cities and parks everywhere have a homeless problem.
Nice hub of activity for Port Angeles. You can see across the straight to see BC.
Port Angeles is the most beautiful, wonderful place to live! Thank you PA for welcoming strangers into your community with such open arms! This is our home now and we couldnt be happier!
A lovely pair with a lovely host
Best place in the world
Beautiful views of the water, the town and the magnificent mountains that meet the sea.
Crab festival beautiful day with my beautiful wife.
Really nice place to view the sunset!
Fun walk nice view
I really enjoy the place. I walk down there alot & watch the birds and enjoy the fresh air.
May be it was that the day was cloudy, but it was not that impressive. The view is Gorgeous!!! The pier is well taken care of, but it could be prettier. There is a tower you can go up and take pictures from. At the end of the pier there are people trying to catch crab. Some of them actually caught some. It was windy. There are a few homeless people but something too bad conpared to Seattle or Portland.
Great spot to walk and enjoy the fresh ocean air, get a beautiful view of the Straits and Victoria, Canada, listen to live music or enjoy the multitude of festivals.
It looked beautiful
I got lucky it was a pretty sunny day. Last night was raining quite a bit, I could have thought I was going to wake up to a cloudy sky but Im very glad I didnt!! Its just beautiful out here
Grew up here never seen a better pier
We visited this city while visiting Victoria, BC, we took the fast ferry crossing the San Juan de Fuca Strait, and you can actually see Victoria from here on a clear day. It is a historic city, has that small town vibe and you can tour downtown in half a day.
A very nice pier for strolling along. The views from the tower offer a great view of the town and Olympic mountain range.
Love the lookout tower
It was absolutely beautiful. Flowers planted along the sidewalk and huge ships out in the water. A treasure in this town.
Was here for the Crab Festival. Lots of fun, lots to see and do. Oh and the crab dinner was very fresh and tasty.
Very pretty !
The bathrooms are dirty and there is no changing table. But the pier itself is lovely, with great views. A very enjoyable place to spend some time bird watching or letting kids play (or both)!
Beautiful outdoor venue for live concerts; chairs and floating bubbles a bonus! The Talbott Brothers band was excellent and they did a great job engaging the audience!
Beautiful views on the pier or higher up on a look out tower. You can usually see some kind of sea life here as well.
This pier is beautiful! Great town as well and food at the local restaurants is great! If you are able to catch the farmers market on the weekends in the summer they will have live music and make sure to hit the bakery stand, unreal! There’s only one!
I went to the Concert on the Pier. The band was great. It would have been nicer if the benches had not been removed.
Very pretty.
4th of July festivities at the pier this year were really nice. Freddy pink the band is a great show. And it was a large friendly crowd.
The pier is a fun place to bring the little ones there is a little park that thay can play at. A little beech to enjoy even a little ocean wild life center that is hands on and educational it does cost but is pretty cool. Not to mention at the end of the pier the is a tower you can climb up the stairs 2 or 3 stories and watch the boats and what not. My daughter loves it up there. This is only a 2 min walk from the ferry also
Good place for a shark attack.
Awesome views! Modern sidewalks and clean.
Fun place and not a bad photo op ! A lot of history here.
When for their Crab and Seafood Fair, wonderful had my favorite crab Dungeness .
The pier was a great experience. We loved the views. Easy access to the beach. The artwork was pretty interesting No complaints whatsoever.
Took the family for a quick stroll through before leaving. Nice view, not crowded and a small sandy beach my grandson could play on.
Utilized the seasonal boat docks. Very rocky moorage. $20 per night, no water or power. The northernmost docks are deep enough for sailboats.
Relaxing place to visit & enjoy walking
A cool place to stop. Photo ops galore!
Nice to explore, good informative posters, viewing tower, parking, rest rooms, walk to a large selection of eateries. There are homeless people here.
Beautiful!
Awesome there were starfish on the pier piling under the stair observatory
A small sandy beach, an inexpensive marine life center where kids can touch underwater animals, a small playground, and an observation tower at the end of the pier all make for a fun family trip. The pier also hosts a number of events including weekly live music during the summer. Before taking the family there, be aware that there are a large number of homeless people who hang out and sleep there. They can be loud, but generally dont bother anyone. Unfortunately starting this year (2019) Ive noticed a huge increase in shouting matches between the homeless. 5 of my last 8 stops there, there have been fights that, thankfully, havent become physical yet. But they do involve language I really dont want my toddler to repeat. The pier is quickly becoming an area that may no longer be as kid-friendly as it once was. Outside of events there, of course.
I love my city, the pier has a 3 floor sightseeing unit where you can take pictures to die for. Beautiful grounds, plenty of parking, safe for tourist at all times visiting. Dont be afraid of homeless they will not bother you. It is a safe place to visit and enjoy your outings!!! Dont forget to visit the near by business, restaurants, museums and the artist landings!! A nice atmosphere, a must take the ferry to Canada!!
Beautiful!
As a boater: unless one of the small cruise ships that visits the city is tied up here (or the harbor is dead calm) expect to roll a LOT while tied up here. That said, the pier is typically quite empty and makes a safe spot to overnight in a pinch. Deeper vessels, watch your depth sounder! The eastern-most floats are your best bet, especially in negative tides. Provisioning is a bit tough, as the nearest grocery is Safeway (ick!) ~1 mile uphill. No shore power/water/sewer and the bathrooms are a bit grimy. Not horrible but not spectacular, just average.
Great for crabbing, mostly clean, but you might see a homeless person or 10 roaming around.
Nice place to relax
Nice place to take the family. Has a marine center to learn about critters in the bay here.
We had a lot of fun at the Port Angeles Fireworks Display. They had the Black Diamond band and food vendors at the pier. Great city and real nice folks.
A great place to walk and sight see.
Beautiful and easily accessible with surrounding food, Shoppes, and services.
Nice view of the straight and port
Its awesome seeing all the barges and ocean liners, lined up, waiting to enter Puget Sound
I was stranded here for an extra 3 hours because I missed my ferry (DO NOT RELY ON GOOGLE FOR FERRY TIMES). I enjoyed looking out at the views and had some fun watching a stray seal play around the pier.
It is so beautiful
Beautiful town, the view are spectacular, the shops, it will be a place to show off when we have visitors. We drove 2 hours to go there but it was worth it.
While the beach is only a small section of sand, this is a great place to stop and stretch your legs after a long drive on the 101. There are nice vistas of the Sound and surrounding mountains.
Lovely and serene place on Ur way to Olympic mountains. Enjoy the view from the pier and on a clear day u can see Canada
Amazing place to hangout at
I love it because the lookout point
Pros: Great views, awesome atmosphereCons: NoneThis is a great place to visit if you are ever in town! My family and I visited during the evening hours in the summer and there were bands playing and lots of people walking around...it was awesome! The views from the tower are also spectacular, although, the climb up can be scary for some...especially at the top! I would recommend this area to family and friends!
The restrooms leave something to be desired, but it is a great place to watch the ships and squint to try and see Canada.
Good place to visit
The ferry Wes cool. Foggy day could not tell you about the view, but Im gonna say it would have been a good one.
Can walk and view saw a seal nose and a few gulls. Very much worth the stop.
The homeless that live there are hilarious.
We didnt Catch any good Pokemon #PokemonGo #Billy
Great place to stop. Good view and pretty good restaurants options around in walking distance.
Really nice place to walk out and see the water, and to look back on Port Angeles. Cute benches under the trees just before the pier to sit and relax.
Quaint
Fishing and crabbing, great places to hike.
Nice waterfront. Great views from the pier. Good place for a walk.
Beautiful place
Just a quiet place beautiful views
The experience getting there and seeing Lake Cresant....AWSOME! Go eat at Michaels. It is a great restaurant.
Beautiful view, very welcoming. Lit up at night, feels safe.
