As usual, I love anything to do with education and the ocean. The Marine Science Center is no exception! They have tanks to look at the critters, and so much more!Take the time, explore! Please donate and support the science center! They are so much more than just a few fish tanks they help with education with the schools, education programs for the general public, conservation efforts for our watersheds and local marine areas! This is our center so go down and enjoy it! The park surrounding the center is really nice too! Enjoy the dock, the beach! Look across and see Canada.

My 4 year old grandson enjoyed the sand table with toys and looking at the tanks with sea life. They need lighting on the tanks and the glass cleaned as it is difficult to see things in a few tanks.Small informative center with friendly staff. Beautiful murals painted outside on the walls of the building.Nice murals inside too.Great viewing tower on the dock.

UPDATE: Please see the interesting information given by Melissa as a response to this review. I originally gave a lower ranking. Her response added points. Thanks a bunch!Original:While preparing to leave, we heard one of the staff members talking about some renovations in the future. Very happy to hear that! The tanks looked filthy. Perhaps they’re supposed to look the way they do, but it should be explained. From the untrained eye, it just looks like these poor creatures are living in neglect. It is also much smaller than it looks. I would not have wanted to be there on a busy day. That said, I think any place that is trying to do well for wildlife deserves funding. So go there and give them money, even if you opt not to go inside.

A great little place to check out local Marine life, learn about it, care for it, and learn how to care for our Waters. When I went in, it was volunteers who helped me enthusiastically answer all my questions. The displays were great, and continue to grow and change each time we come back. I love visiting this place and the surrounding pier and walkways. This place is a gem in Port Angeles.

Theres a touch tank here I was more interested then my kid but she loved the sand play table. There is a elwha dam removal model here that can demonstrate what happens with the sediment when the dam is removed and a brief history of the removal operation. They also only have local marine life from the area including urchins, sea cucumbers, star fish and lots of other creatures too that the staff is more than willing to tell you all about all you have to do is look curious or even better ask.

This is a small town aquarium that has great local character and charm. I like that its just local fish. Volunteers are super into what they are doing and explaining things to kids. The three touch tanks has a urchins and star fish. We got to feed the urchins kelp and see several of the star fish in the midst of eating oysters

My daughter had her 11th birthday party at the Feiro Marine Center. It was a great price for 3 hours. We saved money by promising not to bring balloons or plastic straws and letting the staff provide reusable dishes. Win-win. We called it the Greta Thunberg package ️ The girls explored the touch tanks, loved the sand table ️, decorated fish-themed cupcakes, and collaborated on a painting of an ocean scene. When they had too much energy, they ran the pier and played tag on the playground. It was relaxed and welcoming. I highly recommend a birthday party at Feiro!

Free and great for kids but lets be honest I loved it here, too. Touch tanks are really cool (how sharp is a sea urchin? Not too sharp to touch!) and is a neat tide pool experience. Some really neat local fish and giant sea stars (as well as a bunch of baby sea stars!). Locally and lovingly owned, a really enjoyable and educational experience. They request donations and I am happy to help support this venture!

An amazing little local gem with hands on (yes you can touch the sea life!) exhibits and engaging viewing tanks suitable for 3yo and up. Adults wont be dissappointed either with an underwater robot, microscope viewings, and knowledgeable / engaging staff. Wheelchair and stroller accessible, though no power doors. Small area so probably best to park the stroller at the entrance. No public bathrooms, though there are some just down the street at the docks.

This place is hands down one of my favorite places to be in Port Angeles, and not just because I volunteer here! Interactive is an understatement, and the staff and volunteers are lovely. If you have questions about almost anything we will do the best we can to get you an answer. With 3 touch tanks and team of people constantly working to provide the animals and the public the best environment you can bet your bottom youre going to walk out of here with new knowledge :)

Feiro Marine Life Center is the heart and the face of public marine science in Port Angeles. With a dedicated and knowledgeable staff and team of volunteer docents, Feiro is a must-do for residents and visitors. Spend time at the touch tanks observing local marine life and touching creatures including sea anemones. Experiment with the large Elwha River working dam model. Visit the other creatures from those under the microscope to bigger specimens in large tanks. Kids love to spend time at the sand play table and one of the most fun things to do is celebrate birthday parties at the Marine Life Center! Dont miss the copper art inside and out by local artist Clark Mundy!
