Very nice park with lots of trails and open space. A little tight on parking if its a crowded day. We hiked around a number of different trails and covered about 4 miles total. Trails were ok, some maintained better than others and a number of unofficial spur trails people have trekked. Only about half the people we passed were wearing masks and some groups were gathering but there was pretty good space to be away from these people.Bathroom facilities were adequate.
Great facility with plentiful rest rooms and picnic tables. Hike up for great views of Phoenix (despite the pollution haze). Adequate parking. Great new parking/picnic areas being built. The trail is a bit treacherous as it has not been adequately maintained but it works for anyonfe fairly nimble (even us oldies). Elevation gain is significant.
This is a medium to difficult hike. About 30-40 minutes up the peak and a little over that time descending. If youre hiking at night a flashlight to light your way will keep you safe.
Great hike. Beautiful views. Such friendly people.
Beauty of the nature. Absolutely fantastic for a hike, take a lot of water and nice shoes.
Great hiking parking is ok just depends on the weather wear a mask
Some of the parking is still under construction but when its complete, it will be amazing.
Great bike ride up the mountain. Lots of water fountains and bathrooms.
One of my favorite hiking spots in the Valley with a gorgeous view from any trail.
Fun, great trail. Beautiful scenery
Ive been to plenty of mountains in the valley that were pretty easy to hike but this one right here was the first to ever kick my butt! My now new favorite place to be. By the way I now know the actually name of the mountain haha dont forget to properly prepare before the hike. Have fun!!! Its all worth it in the end.
Awesome run to top in the 116 degree heat ..
Such a beautiful hike, with a glorious view of the city at the top. Highly suggest starting the hike before 4:30 am, so that you can catch the sunrise at the top. If you want good light for vlogging or filming, the full hike, start after 6:30 am
Stop here to see the sites. Had little ones with didnt get to see a lot of the area but I would recommend this location if your into hiking.
Great place for a hike
Great sunset views!
Pretty but no parking and 30 cars looking. no parking nearby
Variety of less traveled trails in park
It does get a little tricky right at the summit. But so worth it!!
My wife and I ended up doing a night hike in July. BE PREPARED if its your first time. Its quite difficult and we had to stop to take some breaks. Its all worth it when you get to the top - at night, the citys lights go on and deliver a view thats hard to get if youre not in a helicopter/airplane.There is wildlife! We got to see 3 ring tail cats, some rabbits, and kangaroo rats.Be careful going down if youre there at night - bring a flashlight, extra batteries, and plenty of water!
So many trails! I have been coming here for YEARS and have never had a complaint. They are doing some major construction now. I cant wait to see what it will look like when its done.
Various trails of difficulty with great views! There seemed to be plenty of spaces for parking too.
A great Desert Park, but if you go hiking in the summer make sure you do it at dawn, for both the magical experience of seeing the sun rise in the desert, and preventing heat stroke from an Arizona summer day.
Wonderful trail. The only issue is the construction. But other than that, its a beautiful hike. Isnt that tough either.
This is a really nice hike. It’s always fairly busy which I like, because I don’t feel like I need to bring a buddy. It’s also a great way to train for bigger hikes like Camelback.
Nice
The summit trail (#300) and its beautiful views were definitely worth the trek up. I would stay that the trail was pretty moderate to difficult considering the elevation and unevenness of the terrain. I consider myself pretty in shape and found myself having to rest once I was getting closer to the top. It took me around 35 minutes to get to the very top. I would highly recommend going right when the park opens to see the dark city skylines, sun rise, and the daylight views all in one shot. I noticed that some people did not pack water for this hike but I would still recommend at least a regular sized water bottle.
This is a beautiful and busy place to hike. I highly recommend the circumference trail (#302) if you like long, easy-moderate hikes. It links up with the summit trail for a little bit but the rest of it is pretty mild and not heavily trafficked.
Squaw Peak is a wonderful place to hike. What a view from the summit ! Hike after a rain and the views will stretch for miles on end. Take water, its a pretty good hike to the top. Great trails !
Great variety of trails for all levels. Combined with Dreamy Draw you can hike for miles. What a great recreation resource in the city.
Great trail for novice hikers. The trail was design to not be too rigorous with many plateaus so that you can enjoy the view without needing to get to the peak. Getting to the peak is challenging but completely possible for a novice hikers. However, I was not a fan of all of the cement laid in place along the first half of the trail.
Wonderful place I love hiking
Its AweSum & A Beautiful Scenic View From The Very Top, Your Family Luv It.
Really good place to go for a hike with your family
Gets crowded quickly
Physically challenging, visually rewarding. Easier than Camelback peak trail.
