This is a stop on the Salt River bike path for me. Plenty of room around the fish ponds both in the sun and shade. Bathroom facilities seem clean and well tended, although the large one at the south side near Dunlap seems to have a lot of homeless hanging out. Large playground with picnic tables and benches. Metal benches need some maintenance and/or replacement.

Clean and peaceful.... There was plenty of shady spots around the lake and this is the perfect place for leisurely fishing. The upkeep has regularly done and a rather large playground for the kids.

It is quiet and clean for the most part. The police patrol but they dont bother you. It is my favorite place to go when I need to think.

Great park with large lake and waterfall. Has a large group of transients that make there home under its shade trees during the day, but always have been respectful and never bothered me or my dogs. Abundant fishing and a loyal group of local fishermen. Has big playground with covers slides and jungle jim for the kids. Isnt kept as clean and manicured as Encanto, but few parks reach that high standard of grounds keeping, and Cortez Park is still a safe, clean, park to walk, read, fish, run, or meet new fronds.

Years ago I used to fish Cortez Park this was back when it was a nice place to go fish since then the park has gone downhill due to the amount of squatters and people not caring about their environment a lot of Garbage. In the last few months they have done a lot of cleaning and water preparations and everything else too be able to bring fish back to Cortez Park they did two stockings the first stocking went really well fishing was really nice second stocking I noticed a lot of dead fish hopefully the garbage problem and water conditions do not return

I love that theres a pond here, but when I tried to fish it I got snagged 3 times in about an hour. Forget that. Also, there is an awful lot of duck and goose poop on the sidewalk that circles the pond. Other than that its a lovely park.

I loved it cause its beautiful, clean, and quiet. If you like animals it has a pond to feed the ducks with a waterfall and a lil area for dogs. Plus it has a playground, basketball courts, and volley ball court. Not to mention its right next to a water park. It also has to bathrooms one on each end of the park. And it has spacious picnic eating areas.

This is is a big park. Bathroom was a mess. Kids made trash of styrofoam cups while the party by the basket ball court could care less. The homeless there were more respectful of the park by being neat, tidy and had their own table and chairs. There is a pond for fishing and exciting bridges and waterfalls to walk past. The play equipment was amazing. Plenty of party pavilions with grills. They had the newest play equipment, very exciting.

A decent park to take your kids to play. Theres a jungle gym and swings. A little pond with some ducks and stuff. The park added a swimming pool for the summer... I wouldnt say a water park, but it has some slides and water gym to play on. If you dont have a pool of your own and dont want to drive far to a full water park. Grab your swimsuit and a few bucks to get in the pool.

Had an amazing time with the family! Great City pool! $3 for adults, $1 for kids. Water slides, kid pool, diving boards and the water is refreshingly cool & twinkling crystal clear blue! Changing rooms, showering rooms & bathrooms were all maintained well. They let you bring in cooler with Beverages & snacks. Plenty of attentive life guards! Free life jacket usage for those that need it. Great community pool!!!

We went for a stroll Friday 35th ave Dunlap. Walked around neither of us has really checked out this very large park since Ive lived here. We walked to this entire park. Their lake has to be for a duck pond, the cleanest I have ever seen. Wished I had a small roll boat just to sit out in the middle of it. Kids playing, people fishing and you can eat these, not like most ponds.Fishing license required. There is a limit and weight your allowed to catch and keep. My bad, theres 4 types of fish, Carp, Bass, my bad I forgot the other 2. I hope when you go, take a blanket before sitting under some of the trees, we did. Until next time. Have a blessed day everyone.

This is a great park to visit. I loved the huge lake and the atmosphere is very relaxing and family oriented. You can do quite a bit here fish, walk/run, skate, play basketball, fly your drones, small parties/get together, public pool, ride your bike, soft playground for kids or just sit and enjoy being outside. If I were to say anything negative, it would be the amount of homeless people that can be present at times. Ive been here a few times and some visits were better than others when less homeless people were in the park. Still a very nice park and one to visit if you like being outside.

This is my community park. I visit numerous times weekly to walk and relax. It is a beautiful well treed park with a large duck pond, fishing, a variety of water fowl, two baseball diamonds, walking trails, 4 verandas numerous picknick tables, a basket ball court and volleyball court.Yes, there are numerous homeless reclining on the grass and gathering in small groups. They are generally quiet, friendly, keep to themself. If this is a stressors it might not be comfortable for you.As for me, I love it all and the park workers keep it remarkably clean and deal with any concerns quickly.P.S. The restrooms do need some help. I wouldnt recomend them.

I visited the park to fish in the evening and it was solemn and relaxing. There were turtles in the lake and ducks as well. What I wasnt too thrilled about was the amount of debris and trash at the east end of the lake. Last but not least, there is a nice size water park at Cortez equipped with two slide tubes and diving boards. Nice place.

This is a peaceful park with a nice lake that had bridges, and nice spaces to chill by the water. The whole space of the park is very big, there’s a nice playground for the children.Park services does a good job cleaning up, but there’s still garbage and junkies in the bathrooms during the day.The issue of homelessness, drug addiction, and litter are the only things keeping me from giving 5 stars.

Cortez Park city Pool is awesome. You get the fun of an expensive waterpark at a more than reasonable price. The staff is attentive well trained and friendly. However, the restrooms are not very clean due to the rif raf coming in off the streets. Our family has typically enjoyed visiting this pool as often as we can when its open, but the last 2 visits were frustrating due to over crowding and extensively dirty bathrooms.

We’ll be coming back soon.

Still one of the best community pools. What I like the most is they make everyone take a swim test if you want to participate in jumping off the diving boards, or swimming in the deep in. Its only once a year though. We love that they allow you to bring your own cooler with drinks and snacks.

Great park for family time, they have the duck pond they have the play ground lots of room to bike and skate, Pokémon go hot spot ..basketball courts and Ramada’s are available.. during the summer theres a public pool area too, the reason for only 3 stars is that the park has so much homeless activity sometimes they will be taking up the Ramada’s that are needed for birthday parties ... they usually keep to them selves but on those days when you need the space it’s a bit on an inconvenience
