First time back to the movies since covid 19, they had so much time to clean the seats professionally. Seats were still dirty as ever. Seats did not recline. Only reason why this gets three stars is because the sound quality of the theater and screen resolution was really decent. Other wise it would be 1 star. People are going out with brand new clothes. Nobody wants to sit on dirty things.

I love the area and the theater location. The staff are also friendly. But I dont come to this location much because it is run down and needs an update. I love AMC and the offers they have. AMC, please update this location to include the same benefits of other locations. like the better sound and better seating (recliners). Also the popcorn is always stale at this location. People skip this location to find more comfort and better food options. Prior to COVID, I hosted a movie night for my family and friends.. Out of the many people that would attend, they often were less then interested when I chose this location. They preferred to drive further. I imagine an update in this prime location would increase your bottom line and you customer satisfaction!!!

Before the covid era this place was great. I saw every new movie here with my family and they loved it too. The auditorium are spacious and offer much leg room. Also the sound is too notch and something you definitely cannot acheive in a home setting. I hope things return to normal and I will be able to see next years movie s at this place rather than renting from home. The experience is just better at a theater.

Saw 7 pm Tenet downtown with my Wife and Teen. No-one else there. One at ticket booth. One at ticket verify podium. One at concession stand. Empty auditorium. Would movie had played if we didnt buy tickets?Go to the Movies on Tuesdays. Safe

I have a worst movie experience in my life. It was my first time in this movie center. We went to watch a movie over the weekend(Sunday evening) and there were not many people. However we paid 18$ just for parking that is more than how much we pay for the movie itself. That was unacceptable for me. I have never paid that much money for parking, not even in Newyork. I would like to give a 0 but. I wont bother going there again, never ever.

The AMC Arizona Center 24 is where you come for a true movie experience.Ive come here twice: a Hitchcock triple feature and an Indiana Jones double feature, and I was amazed both times. Of course the films themselves were great, but the theater is just beautiful. The ceiling and walls make you feel like youre at an opera; theres even a pre-show organist!

A truly grand and historic theatre thats used for so many purposes that patrons might forget to pause and ogle the exquisite ornamentation over the stage and on the ceilings, as well as the artwork along the side walls.The real treat is the organ player before each show. Not only is the playing itself exquisite, but its always amazing to see how the organs sound fills every nook and cranny of the theatre. Unquestionably a West Bay gem.

Not enough COVID precautions. Reserved seating online but no enforcement. Went to watch Hocus Pocus and a group of 5 sat directly in the row behind us in a theater with only 10 people forcing us to move as a precaution. Harkins has been a much better experience. Staggered seating with no one directly behind you and seating is taped off.I will revise if I go back and they’ve changed. Good luck

This is the center city Phoenix location of the AMC theatre chain. Validated, garage parking with several charging stations which is convenient. Although theyre often full. There are a bunch of theaters Im not sure how many but it can be a long, long walk if you happen to be going to those ones. Popcorn is $9 and Diet Coke is only $10 and they have those machines that can give you any type or flavor variety of Coke or Diet Coke or any soft drink you could possibly want! Even Root beer I think and maybe ginger ale!

I went to see a movie on a Wednesday night. It was pretty empty and we pretty much had the theater to ourselves. The theater was clean and comfy. There are fun arcade games! The staff was really nice and helpful. And dont forget to validate your parking ticket inside before you head out if you park in the garage - you wont have to pay for parking!

As a first visit, I was very impressed. The area is spacious. Staff is very friendly & helpful. I love that the drinks and popcorn butter are self-serve. The seats are assigned. But unless the theater is full, you likely could switch seats and no one will mind. The restrooms are clean and has a little lounge. As with movie chains though, of course, the food is pricey. I still have to find out their membership perks to see if its worth getting at least for drinks & popcorn.

Actually, I like AMC BUT, Their speakers are too loud. Im unsure why they have these speakers so very loud but can only assume, they are contributing or helping seniors who may be partially deaf & losing their hearing. IDK BUT YES, THE SPEAKERS ARE WAY TOO LOUD!

I can not believe how bad this place is ran. This has to be the worst AMC theater in Phoenix. The management of this place needs to go back to basic training, if not fired.We came to watch Endgame. We bought our tickets online and reserved our seats. Every single showing was close to sold out and they had one playing every 30 minutes. Just by looking at this you would be able to see that it was going to be very busy at the theater. Not surprising to be that busy, it was a highly anticipated movie and it was opening weekend.We show up and the line to get in is wrapped around the building. Again not surprising, big movie weekend. This line moved pretty fast, but there was only one person taking tickets. The process could have been sped up if they would have had another ticket person.Next came the line for concessions. It went all the way to the end of the theater, next to the completely empty and unused concession stand. They only had 3 cashiers working for this super long line. There were only 5 or 6 people working behind the counter. It was crazy to see that many people in line with so little staff working. It took an hour to get our drinks.Some guy in front of us tried to order a pizza. He asked how long would it take to make a pizza and the cashier told him 4 hours. He told her but movies are only 2 hours and she told him that everyone else got here early so they could wait for their pizza.The soda stands were all broken except for one, and it only had coke and diet coke. Everything else was out. The mess was awful.The bathrooms were soooooo bad. My feet were sticking to the ground as I made my way through the bathroom. Each toilet was clogged and a nightmare. There was no soap and no towels.I have never seen a theater so destroyed. Garbage everywhere. Popcorn all over the floor. And everything was just sticky.I felt really bad for the staff. They were doing their best to take care of everyone, but there were just too many people. What kind of manager and general manager thinks its a good idea to have such a small staff working on such a busy weekend? It wasnt a surprise. Most of these tickets were bought in advance. I thought this was just poor planning on the managers part, but after reading other reviews, this seems to be a common occurrence at this location. It is time for new management.

I hadnt been to this theater in years because I no longer live/work downtown. But, it is bigger than I remembered. Nice theater, but make sure to get your parking validated if u park in these garage.They had some neat promo items for the Star Wars movie...Staff was very friendly. Id go back here again.

We had to walk pass several doors just to get to the entrance after parking in the garage they validated parking thats a plus! Inside the theater was still a nasty mess! The teenage workers didnt clean much. The seats were comfortable and reclined a little.

This is my favorite theater to come to the ushers are helpful and if u need anything just ask they do they re best to help u I recommend this theater to anybody bring ur family ur friend ur date ur wife theres more than enough space to accommodate everyone here they also feature cartoon movies here for kids too the pricing is very good here I saw bad boys here for $5.49 he other time I paid $7.59 very good pricing for a ticket here

Although this AMC movie theater is located on the Northern end of the Arizona Center, the entrance is more about halfway between Fillmore St and Van Buren St. Its pretty spacious inside however the seats are the older, regular, smaller, and non-reclining seats. Other than that, the picture and sound for the movie that I saw was good. I did not purchase any concessions.

Quiet and not very busy until the later evening. Quite nice and clean despite lack of popularity for the AZ Center these days. Its my go-to AMC.They also have the assigned seating now which can be good OR bad depending on the movie and when you order your ticket.

Great theater in downtown Phoenix. Never packed which is great for locals and visitors alike. Plenty of shops to visit before and after your movie.

How to rate this place?Its seats have not been updated so it is not comparable to modern theaters. That being said the video and audio are ok and it is not crowded.It is a great place to go to a movie and be assured of a good seat even on opening weekends. And it is within walking distance of all of downtown

I got really confused with the other google reviews...!! big letters... PARKING is FREE for 4 hours if you watch a Movie..!!! Get your ticket from Parking ticket stand while entering into garage and scan that after entering into theatre in a bar code reader placed near Auditorium 22!! Seat are comfy!! Screen looks small but good l!!

On a weekend you usually have to wait for too long in line because theres only one or two staff members working the register. bathrooms were pretty gross. Popcorn everywhere. I dont blame the workers at all. I blame AMC for not renovating this place and hiring more staff to help keep up.

This is an older theater that has a great matinee price and great snack bar. Matinee price was $5 and change. There are 24 auditorium so there are usually plenty of seats and showtimes for new movies. There are also unlimited free refills from the self serve soda fountain. Park in the parking garage and get yours parking ticket validated for free parking.

The staff moves like molasses in winter! The theater was virtually empty because it was a Tuesday night. I got there at exactly 7:31 for the 7:30 showing of Joker. I wanted to get a popcorn. There were 3 people waiting at the counter to get snacks and 3 people working behind the register. Two people were ahead of me in line. I waited in line until 7:43 and the line DIDNT MOVE! Why? Because the idiot theater staff looked about as enthusiastic as a guy about to be executed! I left without the popcorn, furious. This theater has to get its act together. Ill never go there again.

Nice theaters, and friendly staff. I may sound cheap, but movies are really expensive for a family of 6 - so visiting locations/theatres like this (for our family) is a rare treat. However, very enjoyable!

I love AMC Arizona Center 24! Its our neighborhood theater & I usually attend here. However, I have to say I go to the full dining, reclining seats AMCs. This theater has got so much potential & I strongly recommend whatever upgrades Corporate come up with in a the next few years at this specific location. Oops! The movie was great however the lobby to theater was messy with popcorn everywhere. Stadium seating but seats were very uncomfortable and do not rock or recline. One soda machine didnt gave coke zero but was nice to have many options. Womens restroom had overfilled trashcans with clean paper towels hanging and touching dirty ones in trash below. Toilet paper all strung out on floors. It appeared that a homeless man made it into the theater where our movie was and he followed us until he heard us say we were getting a refill and walk towards lobby. Needs an update, be kept up on being clean and better security. Great location however.

We come here at least once a month. Todaybthey had no one selling tickets out front, neither of the horrible ticket machines were on, and the only way to purchase tickets was at the concession stand. As there were a number of movies starting at the same time, the line quickly got long because there was only one staff member at the concession. Plus, picking seats is a ridiculous idea that needs to go. Waste of time. This theatre is showing its age in the newly renovated AZ Center.

If you’re trying to catch a flick why not just walk on over this place. This is a great spot for dinner and a movie because there’s so many cool restaurants that are within a stones throw away from this movie theater.There is also a cool looking fountain right in front of this place which is a nice added touch.

Nicely remodeled and dont forget to validate your parking ticket or youll be stuck with an additional $16.00 cost for parking.

So disappointed! There was a line to get into the theater then a massive line to get popcorn. For an opening weekend for a three hour long movie this location should have been staffed to handle all these people.Not impressed and will not return to this location willingly.

Came and saw Zombieland 2: Double Tap what a good movie. Great ending to its awesome sequel for director Ruben Fleishers franchise Zombieland.

I always hesitate to go to this theater, but its the closest one to my house. Parking is a pain cause its downtown, but if you remember to get your ticket validated its free. But do when youre there, dont go back 5 min after youve left, the attendant will harass you. The concession crew is slow as molasses....and a little bit dim. no one was in line, but it took forever for the guy to call us up to get out order. When we did, I had to repeat and clarify everything not sure if he wasnt paying attention or had a hearing or processing problem. Finally, make sure you check your tickets for the theater number....last time when went we went to the theater the attendant told us and sat through 25 minutes of previews and the first 2 or 3 minutes if what was clearly not our movie because she told us the wrong theater. We had to hustle to the correct theater, now late. Luckily we didnt miss any of the opening of the movie.Plus is that its NEVER crowded, so youll almost always get a good seat.

The guy working at the concession counter was cussing at his coworker while my boyfriend and I were trying to order, and even interrupted us to continue belittling the worker next to him. Our food came out cold 15 minutes later and the theater was absolutely disgusting and outdated. There was no one who was able to validate our parking. We paid $80 and the ONLY good thing was the actual movie itself. Have tried contacting the manager; the issue was escalated three times with no response from them. Tried calling the theater. No answer either time. I have escalated this to corporate. I’ve never had a problem with an AMC in 15 years until I came here.

My husband and I were visiting from another state,We paralleled parked on the street, we walked in wrong direction on side of theater building.The theater needs to have better FRONT ENTRANCE SIGNS! Extremely Confusing !The theater itself is average - when comparing to other theaters in USA.

Very cool, the Arizona center seems like a nice mixed use space. It was a pleasant surprise when visiting Pheonix. Pheonix is more urban than you think!

Always dirty and slow service. Soda machine is always out of ice soda is flat and warm. Floors sticky. If you use the light to see your seat they are grotesque. We use to come years ago and stopped came back and was quickly reminded why we dont come. Centrepoint on Mill is same price and by far 100X cleaner better and worth the drive

This is obviously an older theater you can tell by the carpet and other aesthetics, it could ise a refresh. They have a huge ticket counter in the front that is not used at all, there is no one to ripe your tickets either. My main issue was that the sound was too loud it distorts and crackles at times, you can get your parking validated though which is a plus.

It was kind of confusing to purchase tickets (the ticket booth out in front wasn’t working), but i purchased them when i went to buy concessions with no problem. i also have dyspraxia and i knocked over my popcorn as soon as i got it, and the lady who checked me out gave me a refill on it for free and was totally nonchalant about the fact that i accidentally swore in the checkout line lol. great service and a nice theatre.

I would give this place 5 stars but hold off one cause its old and musty... otherwise its a decent outing for the family.

Thats the worst movie theater in a first world country, for sure. Rough place. Literal caution tape across the seat I booked, because it was broken in half. Probably the height of sophistication in the early 90s, but daaang.

So much to do in this area and so many great places to eat and drink. Check out the Canyon Cafe, it is my favorite.Its a great place to see a movie and get a bite, or to just hang out.

This is a great theater. The food is good and the auditoriums have always been clean when I come here.

The best thing about this place is that its mostly empty. You dont have to worry about crowded opening weekends here. The theaters are always clean and the staff is always friendly. But the overall theater is outdated and rundown. The bathrooms are usually a mess.

FYI no recliner seats. And no more $5 popcorn and coke combo. Sophia or Sophie the customer service rep with the glasses was super nice and sweet!

Came here at 10pm to see Aladdin in 3d, the film was delightful, the theater was clean and there w ere only a total of 4 people viewing the film. However, I did wish the ticket kiosk would work better. When selecting my seats it was hard to select unless you were zoomed in all the way. Should modify it so you can just type in the seat numbers youd like instead, would be faster.

Ive been coming here for years and love this place, However its been getting scary and dangerous to do so. Twice Ive had to take off running because I didnt feel safe and once with my kids. They need more security and to check peoples bags. People sneak in from the the back doors and make there way into the movies. Just the other day a man came in during the middle if the movie with a back pack, he started doing drugs and then kept his hand in his jacket pocket making multiple people run out of the movie. Something needs to change for the safety of the people.

Wasnt impressed when we first arrived. Long line up out the door due to ticketing machine being down. No human there to sell me a ticket. Then no option for ordering food at the kiosk so had to wait in another long line to get food. Ended up missing the first part of the movie. Found it very inefficient. Theater however was clean.

Very good movie theater thats is located near a lot of outside food places. theater floor is a bit dirty where i sat and the bathrooms also didnt have any toilet paper.

Have been here enty of times over the years. Not a bad theater but not amazing either. Staff is usually very attentive and its as clean as youd expect with as old as this theater is. Parking is convenient and free with the validation.

Love going to this theater, its been 20 years. One thing theyon is being a bit more courteos with people in wheelchairs. Asking a simple question if the person would like any help getting to their movie; after buying something at the concession. I did ask for help, the person did drop what he need if I needed

This is a wonderful theater, laid out well and organized to handle popular movies with plenty of patrons. There are video games for entertainment while waiting for the movie to start, a large concession stand for fast service.Remember though, the movie start times are when the trailers for the other movies start. The movie you came for starts 10-15 mins later.

Great theater. A bit dated but still an excellent experience. Less expensive than expected as its downtown; probably due to it not being renovated like other AMC theaters.

Only went once but its large and roomy, the seats didnt smell and the validate parking in the large garage.

Difficult to buy tickets. One machine for a lot of people only and not everyone can operate it. Long line at concessions and bathroom needs attention. Went 2 weeks ago to AMC Westgate and line for tickets was also very long and line for concessions was extremely long.

Its a decent place to watch a movie but the place is in need of some serious refurbishing. Especially the restrooms!

The staff member that was scanning tickets around 930 last night was really nice. There shouldve been another staff member scanning tickets considering how busy it was.

In my opinion, its way better than harkins on snacks and beverages. Overall experience was pretty good.

I just love the location of this theater because i can meet a large group of women for a saturday afternoon movie and none of us are going too far out of our way. Will be great if they get some much needed upgrades (can we get a bar?) and my womens group will rent a theater out for the reopening!

Great Theater! The seats are a little narrow, but otherwise its a good theater. They also validate parking garage at the garage behind the theater (enter the garage on Fillmore street).

A very nice theater. It was my first time visiting. I attended a conference at the Hyatt and decided to walk over to see a movie. Please note that the entrance is down the walkway to the left, not around the corner.

I went to see The Lion King 10:00 pm Saturday. The common area of the theater was ATROCIOUS!! It was obvious no one had swept in front of the counters, soda machines, nor outside all day!! It was t just a little; it was ridiculous and a bit embarrassing. Definitely wasn’t going to try the restroom. The AMC in Ahwatukee DOES NOT present itself as such!! PRIDE PEOPLE, PRIDE! I’ll be contacting the district manager next.

The dirtiest movie theater in Az! This is just a snap shot of how disgusting this theater is! ALL THE TRASH CANS LOOK LIKE THIS .... OVERFLOWING! Even the restroom trash cans ... I saw a diaper, openly displayed, at the top of the trash heap that spilled onto the floor. I walked into two stalls that were unoperational and overflowing! Ive never been so disgusted with a theater ever!

Finally got to see the movie. Well, almost. We paid the premium I went to see the 3D version. Sitting there for 35 minutes of previews everything went dark. After 10 minutes I got up and went to the front to report but nothing was going on. 15 minutes later they turn on the lights came in and said the projector was broken. They gave us tickets for another movie another time and allowed us to do a lateral move to a different theater. we did not get to see it in 3D but we did finally get to see it. Unfortunately, we had to sit through another 35 minutes of previews. So our 6 showing took us all the way to 11 p.m. and our movie validation was no longer valid so I had to pay 4 bucks to get out of the parking.the reason why I gave it five stars is the young lady who was the manager came in theater and gave us all the bad news but she was very professional and extremely organized. When we got our new tickets for the lateral move, I told her she did a great delivery of the bad news and she was handling it well. I wish I could remember her name she was great and made it worth it.

June 29 went to see Socario good movie. Horrible dirty theater.We choose AMC always over Harkins but this AMC was discusting. I thought I was at a dollar movie. More than half of the womens bathrooms were out of service. Their was few soap dispensers filled (so good luck with employees washing hands before making your popcorn) the dirty paper towels were overflowing, the floors and carpet were gross. The attendant who cuts your ticket stub was sitting slouching with her head down like she was hung over or ready for bed but had an open M&Ms bag that she was eating. Like I want to touch the second half of my ticket after she just put M&Ms in her mouth. This is shameful on AMC.

I was wondering how this theatre has a higher average star review. I went in slightly before the start time of a film. I noticed the sticky floors, and the broken arm rest first. I then took out my phone and looked at the seat and this is what I saw Horribly dirty seats (pictures inclided). There was no way I would be comfortable sitting in that seat or any of these. I then proceeded to getting a refund. I wont be returning to that location in its current state.

YEARS ago, the AZ CENTER was one of, if not THEE best place for happy hours, dining, or a movie, BUT all that $$ spent torenovate&reviveour center city, was wasted here. Its dead. Always. &Mostly vacant, except for the AMC, which *obviously hasnt been remodeled or even updated, since the 90s,& they always seem short staffed!

This place is massive, they have hot food and freestyle fountain drinks, even slurpies. Very clean.

Not too happy with the forced automation to purchase a ticket. The theater was clean but the concession stand was a little messy.

The parking garage isnt very handicapped friendly. The elevator on the second floor is all of the way over to the East side of the garage. Once you get downstairs, there isnt a sidewalk and you have to walk amongst the vehicles. This poses another safety Hazzard! The theater should have been located closer to the garage. I doubt that Ill ever go to this theater to see another movie.

The screens are very small so just sit on the very first row that starts to elevate. The seats have literally no movement to lean back at all so be prepared for a stiff back. This is just where we chose to go while waiting for someone. I definitely would not go back for a movie.

My gf and I watched TOY STORY 4, should have gone to Harkins. Ive always wanted to come to this movie theater. Seeing it everytime I came to phx. But I was very unimpressed. The place was filthy, the popcorn was extremely cold and stale. The xtra butter at stand was even cold. There was no popcorn seasoning. Seats are the old style seats. The place was a rip off but still paid full price when it could have been at a nicer theater with better employees. These little kids were rude and it smelt like burnt popcorn behind the counter. Im just glad I ate before going! Lamest AMC ever,

My boyfriend and I bought tickets at the machines cause there was no one out front. The machines told us that it couldn’t print it so we had to go up to the food counter. There were a couple of families ahead of us ordering food so I asked one of the employees checking tickets if there was any other way we can get the tickets we paid for-other than stand in line and wait for people who are ordering food(we all know movie food takes a while). I was told no.So respectfully my boyfriend and I stood while a couple of large families made their order and the person behind the counter scrambled to get their items. After what feels like 20 minutes, it’s out turn so as I am walking to the food counter the cashier stops me and tells me she’s actually going to take the person waiting in the “rewards line” - who LITERALLY just got there. I was livid but I went back to the line and waited. When it was our turn another employee took us and we told him we just wanted to get our tickets printed- and when he tried to print them, his screen froze!!I felt bad for him because he was so kind and didn’t know what to do. His supervisor told him to print it on the other screen(the girl who first kicked us back to the line) and she gave him attitude for it!This was so ridiculous. We literally just needed someone to print tickets that we ALREADY purchased.I am baffled by how differently this whole situation could have been handled and greatly disappointed in the quality of service at this location.This location is also always dirty and hardly staffed.
