Watched a movie in the first week of opening post pandeminc shutdown. AMC/this location has done an outstanding job of keeping the theaters clean, there are wipes and hand sanitizers located all over, plenty of signs informing about social distancing and masking policy.Overall the location is pretty good and beyond what I was expecting for my first movie in almost 6 months.
During the quarantine, no one takes your money. Just kiosks. And the theaters are small. But everything else is great. The sound is good. The sodas are self-serve, which means you can get refills. The building itself is well maintained. The staff are professional.
I like this particular movie house! The ambiance was excellent, and the customer service was quick and great. Also, the foods and the drinks that they served were OK. When we already entered the house, the seats were properly arranged, and the screen was large and had extreme loudness. It was truly worth it to be here at your movie house. Highly Recommended!
Only had one bad experience, where the projector was super dim, but the staff was happy to help with a refund. Ive been several times since theaters reopened and their covid-19 measures go above and beyond, there are hand sanitizer stations throughout, and each theater has a sanitizer wipe station outside, so you can clean your seat if you feel its necessary.
AMC had sanitary chair wipes that I viewed as safe and considerate. Hardly anyone was at the movies. It was good there and safe.
Comfortable seating. Reasonably priced. Staff was friendly although theres not much staffed left post covid. Positive experience.
Great place bring your family and enjoy a movie
They have everything clean and stocked. Felt comfortable and safe seeing a movie.
Finally! Back to the movies! It will be nice once there are new movies to see again.
Almost had the theatre to ourselves watching Hocus Pocus for the first time. Seats were nice and comfortable.
AMC Ahwatukee is our preferred theater for location and value. The theater is always clean and the temperature is kept just right. The theater is handling the covid19 much better than Harkin except for the fact they expect everyone to keep masks on except when eating or drinking which is ridiculous since theyre already distancing, no one seems to wear the masks once in the individual theaters so its not an issue. Harkins uses tape to space the seats, AMC is much smarter once you pick you seats the program removes the next two seats from being reserved this allows groups of three or four to sit together then the next to seats cant be reserved. INFIDLE was a great movie until the last 5 minutes which were phoney!
The theater is in great shape for its age.I wish the location in Tucson took care of things as well as this location does.
Didnt like it staff were rude
I love coming here to watch movies. Theyve got a comfortable theater made for you to lounge. The popcorn never disappoints and well yeah, the prices are sky high, but why go watch a movie if you cant afford it. The fact that they have liquor to sip while you watch your favorite actors on the big screen is great. Ill continue to come here and Ill continue to praise a great location to watch the big stars on the big screen.
Always had a great experience watching movies at AMC Ahwatukee 24
It was a nice clean theater, but at the risk of sounding like an old man yelling get off my lawn, Im not a fan of all the automation. From buying tickets to concessions, everything was automated and there was very little human interaction. I havent been to any theater in over 3 years and I understand that this is pretty much the same everywhere, but I didnt like it. Not only does it take away job opportunities, when you have any type of issue or are unfamiliar with these computers, finding someone to help is difficult, not to mention a little embarrassing. But I did enjoy the reclining seats they were very comfortable and the restrooms were clean and stocked as well.
Sunset Tower was a wonderful experience. We booked through American Express and enjoyed all of the benefits that were added. Service and cleanliness and location and friendliness couldnt have been better.
Sadly we will probably look for another cinema to frequent. The mess they have created with the snack bar ordering and receiving is near to intolerable. You have to place your order on a kiosk that is not easy to navigate and then to receive your snacks is pure chaos. The level of customer service is non existent. People milling around confused the drink lids and straws are now no where near the drink machines, its all a mess, dirty and an altogether terrible experience. The only redeming feature now is the location and the comfortable chairs.
I frequent this theater and I have noticed a decline in the cleanliness of the theater as a whole. (ex. The bathrooms were not clean, toilet paper all over the floor, no paper towels. Popcorn was randomly scattered on the floor all over the theater. In the theater there was popcorn and paper left on some of the recliners.) Its actually very disappointing because the main reason for visiting this particular theater is its convenience. On another note, the staff is still very friendly and helpful however more automation has made getting concessions inconvenient and takes a lot longer.
Clean, nice seats! Great to be back!
Saw My Hero Academia yesterday at 3. No one around to help cash paying guests at first. I was eventually helped. Took 15 minutes to get our tickets and 20 minutes to pay cash again for refreshments due to lack of staff. We were late for our movie and refreshments are about 400% marked up. And the new touch screen ststem alienates patrons like me. Gave 2 stars for reclining seats. Wont ever return here.
Love how they remodeled the whole place very very comfortable seats no cramps and it’s in a good spot near all the restaurants the #1 movie theater always go to it
Used to be a nice place to go and watch a movie. After the remodel, the theaters were really comfortable. Last two visits, 8/2019 and 12/2019 were horrible. The place is filthy. Overflowing trash cans in theater 8. I checked a couple others, same way. Our seats looked oily. There were candy wrappers and popcorn in the cushions. Aisle floors were trashed, restroom floors were wet in front if all the urinals. Overall disgusted with the place. Wont go back. Management needs to walk the halls and facilities and make sure people are doing their jobs.
My fav theater. Great seats, never crowded! Excellent selection of films, they often carry more off main stream films. Great place to catch up on nominations during award season!!
My sons birthday is today. I took my son and we had an amazing time. Cashier and other employees said happy birthday to him. That maid him very happy. Thank you so much for the great experience!!!!
This has been upgraded with a bar, reclining seats, and you have to get your tickets inside. The tubs of popcorn are huge, they do not hold back. I found the foyer cramped since you have to come in to get your tickets and then line up again to have your tickets ripped, get your 3-D glasses and and then be directed to your theatre. However, people were pleasant, both staff and visitors. On the downside, the recliner my wife was in did not work. Also, both my wife and I found the sound for the movie muddy. Now, I am not sure if that is a problem with AMCs sound system or the film.
This is our movie theatre of choice when we want somewhere close with affordable seating. The assigned seats make it a more enjoyable experience. It’s usually pretty clean but we have noticed an increase in garbage stuffed between the reclining seat cushions. Your mileage may vary. The food is expensive and not particularly good, but that’s usually the case for movie theaters. If you want a good ‘dinner and movie’ experience check out Studio Movie Grill. This just isn’t that kind of experience.
Was trying to give 2.5 stars. Was kinda disappointed. The front area was dirty. You walk in and there is no one to greet you. Im spending close to 50.00 dollars for 2 tickets 2 drinks and a large popcorn and everything is self serve and automated. But the movie Was really good.
Love the comfy reclining seats! This is the only movie location we go to! We love the reclining chairs that give us an unobstructed view of the big screen. The staff there is A+, very eager to provide excellent services. Place is kept very clean, and offers new food and beverage menus which we love. My only complaint is the Stubb reward card. Unless you buy the premium card, you cannot autocheck and this location is understaffed. As a result, we always have to anticipate a waiting line.
This theater had a huge screen! Comfy recliners. Great snack bar. We had a blast.
This theater is one of the worst I’ve seen. It’s always dirty. Stopped going there pre-COVID-19. Definitely will not be returning once they open again.
Updated reclining seats and improved surround.sound. For popcorn lovers, you may apply the melted butter yourself! The picture is much better with the new projection systems. Some films must be seen on the big screen to be fully understood. Even the big home screens lack the presence from an image more than twenty feet tall. Most home sound systems are, alas, a pale imitation of a real theater audio system. The AMC folks appear to have spent the resources to design their audio system correctly. (If your home theater setup cost more than $10,000 you may disregard the last comment)
Loved the movie experience itself. The movie wasnt too loud. And I do love the remodeled theaters which hold way fewer seats, and they are large recliners. But the kiosks wouldnt accept either of my gift cards, so the cashier had to do it for me. Also, with the new way of purchasing tickets, you have to wait out front for your friend and buy the tickets at the same time so you can sot together. Gone are the days of wandering in to the theater and choosing good seats together.
So disappointed. The place was filthy! Garbage all over the counter at the popcorn and beverage stand. Service was terrible, or, the lack there of. All automated and no one knew what to do or where to go. Popcorn in the soda machine! Popcorn everywhere on the floor. Restroom, disgusting! I dont think they had been cleaned in forever. Id like to know what happened to our once very nice AMC Ahwatukee?!
It was a nice place. But dont go there thinking you can use cash. Everything is done with a card.
This was a really nice theatre with recliners, a bar, and a touchscreen menu. Youre gonna pay for all if it too! My family of four went to see a kids movie that came out two months prior and still paid just over $100 for tickets, popcorn, 4 drinks, 1 candy and two of the cheaper food items, (about $6 each). The theatre was in great shape, the snacks were good and drinks came from those touch-screen coke machines my kids really like. So all-in-all, this was a really nice theatre, but itll put the hurt on your wallet if youre not careful!
As far as theaters go, its ok. Not great, not bad, just ok. Our reclining seats didnt recline and whatnot like that. They do have a bar so thats cool. But everything is really old here. A little bit of updating would go a long way here.
Good experience everytime we go. Clean, friendly, and quick to get your tickets checked in, plus your food/drink can be ordered on a kiosk so you dont have to wait in a line (most of the time.) Great location, but parking can be a disaster as the theatre is in a huge strip mall. Lots of things to do before or after your movie though! Great date place or to take the kids out.
Best place for cheap movie dates. Alamo is like the high-end treat for movie places, but AMC has really given them a run for their money. Ive been coming to this AMC in particular since I was a child and theyve really stepped up their game these past few years! The recliners are SO comfortable and their food goes beyond the typical popcorn and drink fare. The McStuffins bar is crazy expensive, but they have a pretty good drink spread and usually offer delicious novelty drinks for certain movies, a la Alamo. The inside has become very automated, which is actually nice. You can buy your ticket online, have the ticketer scan your phone, then order/pay for your food at a kiosk and go pick it up yourself. Its honestly very streamlined, but it does offer the human factor, too, if you prefer to avoid kiosks. I love that you have an option in that. All in all, this is my favorite theater to go to for its value
Our go-to movie theater. The seats are very comfortable and wont block the people in the back if youre standing up. We are considering getting the A list since we enjoy going here so much on our free time.
Probably my favorite AMC in this area. Kind of my home theater until I moved and Mesa Grand was much closer. However, I dont like AMC popcorn when I do get it (which is rare). But if you like movies, they have those.
Went to movies twice in two days in August....air-conditioning not working great in two different theaters. Come on, AMC!!! If you’re going to have the high-priced drinks (over $5 for a bottle of water!), at least have the theaters cool. That’s why we all go to the movies in the summer, to relax and cool off.
This movie had a great cast, however it took awhile to figure out what was going on and how it all tied in!!! Overall it was okay!! Im glad it was free. My wife said it was 2 hours of her life she wont get back!!!
Love the AMC Ahwatukee 24 theaters! Just saw the Lion King in real 3D - it was awesome. Theater is always clean and well staffed with very friendly individuals. Seats recline in any position. Lots of leg room. The bonus id that no.matter how tall or short your view is never blocked by the people sitting in the row(s) in front of you!!
Havent been here for a while and a lot has changed...love that I buy my ticket online and just show phone to ticket taker! The drinks area and womans restroom was a total mess though. Not much staff around. Im amazed how few people fit in a theater now. Seats are great though so I guess those big comfortable seats is why.I appreciate not freezing in the theater too!
Nice reclining seats with leg rests. Plenty of foot room and space between you and the next aisle. Not bad to the left and right. Screen visibility is pretty good from all but the front two rows.
Theyve taken away personal interaction. They make me do everything from buying tickets from a machine to ordering food at a kiosk, that is so not user friendly, btw. And then I have to also pour my own soda at a very, very dirty and messy drink station. On top of all that, theyve raised the price so much on concessions that its almost impossible to take a family affordably. So, theyve removed jobs and overhead and the theater is less friendly and very much a mess. If they didnt have $5 Tuesday deals, I wouldnt go. Thats the only thing that keeps us going.
Surprised at how clean it was, seats are great, so much so that I gotta go back see the movie I napped thru lol. My grand daughters enjoyed the theater
The seats are very comfortable and recline. The tickets are very inexpensive but they make up for it with the price of the consesions. You can also select your seats ahead of time.
I love AMC! Their seating is wonderful. Like watching movie at home its so comfortable
My daughter treated my youngest son & I to See the movie The photograph which we loved bythewayl, the staff was friendly & helpful and the theatre was very well kept we enjoyed
Just a dump. Always looks like someone seriously needs to sweep the lobby and wipe down the drinks areas. Good Lord A M C, CLEAN THIS PLACE UP
Great theatre. Watched Midway. Historys iconic sea-battle that determined the outcome of the Pacific during WW11. This remake covers most of all the events before Pearl Harbor to the actual battle at Midway.
Always a pleasure coming here
Comfortable, adjustable lounge chair type seating. U pick ur seat when u purchase ur ticket. Rest rooms are clean with soap, air hand driers, & paper towels available. Only problem was the box office located inside was understaffed. One young guy was behind the counter to help with ticket purchasing & any problems. The ticket purchase screens were extremely slow in switching to next pages & printing out the tickets purchased. Only 3 screens were open & available in which to log in & purchase tickets. Leave extra time before Ur scheduled movies start time if U plan to purchase ur tickets at the theater
Been going here for years, but this past weekend was it for our family. Lines to use kiosks to order food and take 10 times as long as simply relaying an order to a human being. No priority for Stubs members. Dirty floors, popcorn everywhere, and the ladies bathroom was seriously disgusting. This place has really gone downhill since trying to automate. Just gross.
Comfortable chairs nice screen size with decent audio. I went in a t-shirt and shorts and was shivering most of the flim so dress for a colder theater.
While it is further out than some of my local AMC options, this one always proves to be a fave. Comfy seats and nice staff to assist with ones needs.
A bit pricey, but we prefer the recliner seats and assigned seating. No fighting with seat pigs saving whole rows. This AMC location is good with tons of showtimes and good staff. Theres a bar and getting snacks at the kiosks is way easier than waiting behind a fat line.
I really enjoy this theatre. Comfortable seats and lots of food options nearby.
Comfortable seats. Convenience snacks and popcorn. Alcohol served
I have seen a lot of bad reviews recently but my experience was great. The theater was clean and i loved the electric reclining seats. I havent been to this theater in years. Now they have bar for adult drinks and more food choices at concession stand.
Great place to catch a movie with assigned seats and recliners. Offers several snack options. Staff are attentive and helpful.
Had a blast with a friend. Saw Blinded By The Light. Only ordered drinks, great selection as always. Only a few people in the theater made it very nice.
I love the seating but I hate how they make you choose your seats at purchase. Ive had so many experiences where other patrons steal the seats I reserved and paid for. Itd be better if there wasnt assigned seating.
Nice multiplexer but no bollywood movies so reduced 2star else its five star experience
Nice theater, other than the fact that there was some sort of fire and the whole place was evacuated halfway through the movie.
Magical theatre featuring olde tyme service, amazing auditorium layout, good parking and Dandy Chiggins
Great theatre to go to for movies my wife and I really enjoy the reclining seats.
I guess if the place doesnt burn down because of another pizza or popcorn machine fire its a great day at this establishment. Youde think that for the premium prices they charge for cheap junkfood that fire safe cooking equipment wouldnt break the operating budget.
Lots of fun, good movies. Nice comfortable seats at fair pricing.
Super comfortable to watch, reclining seat, soft leather, big sharp screen. but spoiled by very poor arrogant service by a hispanic looking woman (served afternoon feb 29). aside from her away from her seat, socialising she was very unhelpful and arrogant assuming every one is a veteran in coming to this theater. I think she feel un amused when we disturbed her from her socialising to do her work. aside from that the theater is excellent except for this arrogant woman and dirtyness everywhere. I expect high quality because of the pricely cost. but not even close for first class theater. moreover, parking in this area are so small and packed anytime of the day.
Love the atmosphere and seating here since they updated it years ago. The bar and reclining seating ensures this will continue to be my favorite local theater.
Easy to get in and out of parking area. Plenty of nearby parking. Lot of self service kiosk. Recommend buying tickets ahead of time with reserved seating. Can fill up fast with walk ins.
First time at this AMC, we had a great time seeing Impractically Jokers the Movie.
Comfy seats. Sweet staff and the place is clean whenever we visit
We had a great time watching Sonic and had great seats. The only thing that bothered me was the convenience fee added when buying tickets online. It really made for a very expensive experience.
Old and tired, despite recent renovations. The food options are decent, but often the pretzels and popcorn are stale. The staff are friendly enough, but it seems as if they all arent on the same page. The crowd tends to be more seniors by day, with more rowdy teenagers at night (especially weekend nights). Its ok, but nothing special. And the bathrooms are passable, for the mostpart.
The actual theater was nice, but the people working the consession stand were worthless. I needed help with their self serve menu, and the guy just answered the question and walked away, I was waiting for 10 min b4 anyone came back out. I finally ordered my popcorn and corn dogs, but, they had me waiting at one end of the counter for another 10 min, just to come out and say oh u can pick up your food on the other end of the counter so I walked way down to the other end and it was just sitting there in the open for abt 10 min. It was cold. I just threw it away bcaz the employees were useless. I enjoyed the movie tho. But i Will never go to that location again.
Great theater and the food isnt that bad. In a great location as well so you can have dinner and then go to the movies!
Nothing better than a warm flat coke with no ice! As I sat in the 103 degree theater and enjoyed my flat coke with no ice watching a Disney classic in a recliner that doesn’t recline I questioned every reason why I choose to spend my hard earned money on that mess! Even better I was on a date! This theater was a disaster and owns the title for worst theater in the entire city! I could not believe it! Then I went to call their corporate number and their manager was “to busy” so the woman hung up on me! Oh yeah. If your not caucasian.. don’t even bother with this Theater..Your bound to get racially profiled!
Nice theater. Kiosks for ticket purchase and concessions. Very nice! No salt packets. Or maybe I could not find them. Still a great theater. John Wick 3! He shot my dog! I get it.
Our favorite local theater. Great seats and sound.
I have been coming here for a long time. When they remodeled and put in the reserved reclining seats, it was awesome. It’s a clean and relaxing place to enjoy a movie. A few times they’ve had trouble with the equipment and ended a movie early, but they’ve always compensated us with re-admit tickets. I had 4 that was about to expire and called them about it. Told them there wasn’t any movies I was interested in at the time. I was told it’s fine. Just bring them in when I was ready and they will honor them even expired. I took them in the next month and was told I couldn’t use them. At another time, I bought tickets for my family. Then found out some of my kids’ friends were in the same theater. I attempted to change our seats to the same movie, at the same time, and even though there were plenty of seats available, was told I couldn’t do it because I couldn’t find my receipt. Make sure you hang onto those suckers!
Nice theater love that they have the relaxinf reclining seats ! They also have a nice food selection !
Love 5.00 Tuesdays. Employee at the concession was very helpful and friendly.
This is by far the best Harkins theater Ive ever although its quite strange that all of the staff say Welcome to AMC and all the confession stands are digital and you have to ask for a staff member but other than that the reclining seats and epic theater rooms and events make HARKINS AHWATUKEE 24 one of the best theaters in Oregon! btw mi mentally.
The employee Dennis did a great job cleaning the theater so quick!
