The ambiance and music were so upbeat yet mellow. I love the art and the bartender was very attentive and courteous. Definitely would love to go there sometime soon!
I just wanted to thank you for making my movie experience worthy to remember! Your technician did a great job! It was a pleasure watching a movie with you and your company. If I ever want to watch another movie in the future, I will definitely come here again!
First time to order with this wine shop, and it was all worth it. The waiter was very pleasant, decent, and careful to me. Besides, the beers and champagne that I ordered were great and impressive. I greatly like everything in your shop. It was beautiful and a very good place to visit. Thank you!
Loved watching a flick here! Really exceptional staff. Fun atmosphere & lots of art & great decor. Sort of tucked away in a difficult to get to neighborhood, but so worth the effort. Ticket prices are comparable to theater chains. There are a few snack options & if you get a good cashier, you might even get a free refill on your soda. Seating is comfy, view of screen is perfect, sound is amazing. Free parking & lots of interesting murals all over the walls outside. Great selection of varying and eclectic films that changes often. Terrific place to go for a date or with friends. Not really a place to take children. Feels more like a refuge for grown ups. I loved seeing a movie here & plan to go back again & again.
Film bar is a special place not just to Phoenix but really to everywhere. Independent movie houses are amazing and Filmbars vibe, film selection, service etc are so on point and couldnt be happier to have it about a mile from my house. Cant wait to come in again asap :) thank you for existing and appreciate how safely youre able to be open without losing the feel :)
The gentlemen that were working on the evening of November 1st were awesome! My friends did a small surprise party for me and it was perfect. Thank you so much! :)
This place is great. They set up small screen area for very cheap. We set up our switch and played with our friends.
Went to see a drive UP, parking lot film, The Big Lebowski!Great fun for the Friday after Thanksgiving!!!Excellent video and sound quality! So much fun to sit outside and experience this classic film among fellow Lebowskians, lol ~Support The FILMBAR!!!!!Happy Holidays!!
Fun place especially when theyre showing the room. Dont forget your spoons.
This place makes for great memories. Perfect date-night stop in an incredibly cool downtown.
Love this place, one if the last unicorns of Phoenix
This is a great little film house that shows independent films and old movies. A small theatre with an intimate feel that encourages audience interaction. Theres a bar that serves beer and has a limited selection of alcohol, as well as popcorn, tamales, and candy. This is a really fun place located downtown and within ready walking distance of some good bars, restaurants, and coffee shops.
Love this place. My boyfriend and I had our first date here. (:
One of my all time favorite places in the world!!! I dont go to many movies these days; however, when I do, youll definitely be finding me here. This place offer great movie selections, some old, some new, and some completely out of the usual (Which I really like). The environment of this place is completely chill, and friendly. I cant even think of a place that comes as cool, as FilmBar.I highly recommend it!
This place is awesome. I went with my girlfriend to see Parasite which is with out a doubt a thought provoking movie. The venue is in Downtown close to Cobra Arcade with one film room. It made feel hipster in that it is a small cinema place with a comfort feel like no other theater. 10/10 would recommend.
Love this place: so quaint and the movie that I saw had the Rocky Horror picture show quality to it where the audience interacted with the film. I dont know if thats how it always is but I really enjoyed the vibe. Decent wine (though not a large selection)
Super cute and tight theater. It sometimes has a feet smell to it and the chairs squeak. Snacks are available and so are alcoholic beverages. They show great movies, alot of stuff you wont find in a typical movie theater.
Its a cool little theater Ill be coming back. its needs more lights on the floor. Couldnt see where I was stepping coming into the previews And I would like a mans drink not a piss baby beer....and some soft pretzels.PS not a criticism but tamales weird choice.
I love this type of venue. Great place to see aspiring film makers. Do yourselves a favor go and have a great time.
First timer, it was a fun experience. The staff was welcoming, and recommended the tamales...not going to lie I agreed try one out of politeness, but I was pleasently surprised! Have a hangout area where I enjoyed my food and a beer before the movie.
Had a fun time here! Great for a date night or having fun with friends.
Got to see Rocky Horror Picture Show for the first time, best experience! From walking in the door, to watching the movie, to walking out the theater, the whole staff was great! Such a great time. Cant wait to go back for the next show
Chill place, a little basic but if a movie and beer or wine is what you’re looking for then this is perfect. Would be nice to have liquor available hence the 4 star, staff was...helpful but a bit on the “if you’re not one of us” side, and I’m not even sure what “one of us” is. Millennials? Was there to see a Slayer movie, bartender was again, helpful but seemed annoyed a bit. Even after generous tipping. Will go back though for sure.
Amazing movie theater. Staff were polite and passionate about the theater and the films shown. I saw Pick of the Litter and Frankenstein. Before Frankenstein a history teacher and film buff gave the audience some facts about the movie and the genre which was super cool and the audience was really cool to be around. The guy who spoke also had an adorable dog who was just so well behaved. I would highly recommend this place. They have a great selection of beer as well!
Nice theatre. Short seats & not the best popcorn but great concept having throw back films & a bar all rolled into one.
This place is great. I was taken here before my birthday today and the style and movie I saw fit so well with one another. I loved it and will definitely be back again!
Small independent movie house that serves beer, soft drinks and food. The popcorn is very reasonably priced. Seats are reclining but are comfortable with plenty of legroom.
Classy joint for all ages! Very relaxing ambiance with a blend of good beer and old movies. Would recommend to anyone with a little social anxiety about going to crowded bars, its the perfect place to go for a quiet drink.
Fun place to catch your favorite second runs and cult favorites. Only beer and wine. Wish I could get a cocktail.
Showed up 30 minutes prior to show time only to be told the show was sold out. Should establish a policy that at least 15% of the seating should be reserved for purchase at the door. Second, if the movie is that popular open up more shows during the day and night.
A hidden gem next to Cobra Arcade. I enjoyed the indie film about Toni Morrison and look forward to coming back. I like the smaller vibe and laid back presence it had.
This place is a gem! An authentic piece of Phoenix culture just steps from downtown!
Its a bit pricey for the drinks, but all in all an excellent place to go for older movies. Definitely buy tickets ahead of time. Especially if youre going to Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Cool place and atmosphere. Small intimate movie theater that has food wine, beer or you can bring your own food. Got to see El Camino on a big screen. Wish we had a place like this in AR!
This place is great if youre into indie films and smaller movies! they also have tons of cool events ! it is more expensive than an AMC or Harkins but i think its worth it for the experience!
If youre looking for a laid back place to watch a B movie, cult classic, indie, or foreign film, or even sometimes a movie you *just* missed in the regular theatres, then this is the place to go. Theyre working on expanding their alcoholic beverage and food menu, but they do sometimes have tamales or bring out food trucks as well. Cant go wrong supporting local cinema.
Great local theater with cult classics and artistic film choices. I love this place!
Every bar starts to look and feel the same, except when you come here! Great prices, i lucked out with a showing of the Big Lewbowski for $7! With Popcorn beer wine tamales....theyve really nailed it. It was cheaper than theaters and had a better movie showing than the box offices did. Its downtown location adds to its cool vibe. This is a must place to go!!
Yes they serve drinks and food. But if you love movies, foreign films, classics, silent films, indi-films, and documentary films; this is the place to be.Small theater and cozy for a date and a group of friends. Set up for hearing aids and disabled. But what I have to say, is thank you for bring us the Infiltrators. A must see award-winning movie, thought provoking, courageous, mind changing, inspiring, and heart breaking. This is the true story of the year.
FilmBar is a blast for any movie. Its especially great for old reruns or what I would consider cult movies though (new or old). Cozy atmosphere and always has a nice selection of drinks.
Very cool place but they dont serve liquor so that was a bummer. A bar that dont serve liquor, okay.
We love this place. Owner and staff are excellent. We are here at least once a month and have never had a bad experience. And the tamales are to die for. Please give this place a try and support local small businesses.
Fun and friendly staff
Tiny theatre. Great place. Theres always a great selection of films showing here and theyre doing good stuff keeping independent theatres alive!
Always a great place to see a movie and have a beer or 2
Went to see their Rocky horror shadow cast and was so not disappointed!! The cast did such an amazing job and it was such a great environment ️ I cant wait to get tickets next time!!
Great movies. Fair prices. Unvarnished amenities.
I loved the cat movie I saw here! We need more of these little places! Cozy and great for a date night!
Small and cozy theatre with excellent staff. Saw the Depeche Mode movie there with like-minded people and enjoyed the show.
2nd visit. Friendly staff. Excellent libations. Fantastic film.
Watched a film with a friend and enjoyed the art and drinks.
The film + brew selection here is great, but let me tell you what (or rather WHO) is even greater here: The staff.I was going to propose to my girlfriend here with a documentary I had made. I was going to screen it here and have several of our close friends to join us.Andrea and the team were SO ACCOMMODATING with my questions and requests. They helped me work within my budget and gave me ideas to make it an even more special occasion. While I ended up having to move the proposal to California for family reasons, I have never had a warmer or more welcoming customer service experience than I have with the good people at FilmBar.
Good idea on combining bar and showing old/arthouse films, ventilation in the room could be improved
I have been twice so far, love it, so refreshingly different from the cineplex. So far documentary and cult movie great,I will be going back soon
What a great place! Highly recommended!
I love this place its so great.im glad that there is someplace that still shows cult classics like RHPS and The Room. I have a blast every time I go.
I love the quirkiness of Filmbars movie selection. Theres always something playing to pique your interest. The theater is intimate, like a home theater, as my husband remarked on our first trip there. Parking is a struggle, but metered parking is free after 10pm, which is perfect for a late show. I love that theres a membership program to save money on tickets and earn points for free tickets. Just an all around great place for a night out!
Very cool experience. I could see this being part of a bigger date night.Reasonably priced popcorn and beer, I was expecting much higher.
Great films, tons of fun, very casual atmosphere, fun for a date.
Great atmosphere and the best way to see limited release films on the big screen.
Great place for drinks and good movie.
Best place to see a flick! Very small with a vintage vibe. Very cool workers.
Absolutely a fabulous place to go for a quaint intimate experience!
I went to see The Rocky Horror Picture Show and it was fun! The place shows an interesting choice of indie and foreign movies and fun musicals singalongs. Everybody was kind, the beer was good.
Cute little place. An undiscovered gem. Aside from being a Monday night cant see why this place wasnt packed. Theres not much good going elsewhere so people need to get here and spread the w pop red about supporting local owned businesses. Well definitely be back.
Comfy and worn-in in all the right places. Art house cinema, tamales and always a thoughful selection of beverages - I dont come here enough, but it might be one of my favorite spots in town for an evening out. If youre looking for standard movie fare, a long menu served to you at your seat (what film isnt made better by the smell of greasy burgers and the sound of your seatmates mastications?) or those cumbersome recliner seats that have obnoxiously taken over all the chain cinemas in town, this will be your least favorite cinema. If youre looking for something interesting and cozy, FilmBar is for you. And dont sleep on buying advance tickets to eventful screenings - they will sell out.
Been here a few times. Several years ago I found a jazz band in the lounge/lobby. The theatre is small but perfect. They have food and lots of drink options. They also have events and a variety of movies. If looking to turn your movie into more of an experience, this is a great place to be.
Very cool little place, imagine your local pub has some equipment from an older movie theater and theyre playing smaller niche films with a lot of character.
I dont make it to FilmBar nearly as much as I should. Phoenix is so lucky to have such a unique, community-focused indie cinema right downtown.Tip: If youve never been, keep an eye on the Film Series Events page on their website. Find something you like, put it on your calendar, and make a date of it. You wont regret it.
I ended up having an absolutely great time out there. The name says it all, its a bar and a movie theatre in one. The bar area was great, the film area is a bit small, but the seating is done well, and the atmosphere is really chill and inviting. The staff were hella cool, amd Id totally come back again for either the film or the bar.
A really nice and intimate place to see some mainstream or Independent films. Highly recommend. And there is a real bar there ha ha.
If you want a unique experience check this place out. Food selection isnt great, there are tamales and popcorn but there are some cool beers and wines to choose from. The atmosphere was very cool with random pictures of celebrities and it just felt as if it were run by a bunch of art students who think they are better than us. Very fun experience.
Enjoyed the show, comfy chairs. They have Ace cider on tap.... yum! Will be going back again.
Great little indie movie house. Decent selection at the bar. Concession prices are a bit high for some items (but not unreasonable) but low for others. Great line-up of classic films from big-name hits (Halloween) to B- and C-List cheese-fests. Definitely worth the price of admission.
Great little indie film house. Friendly staff. Highly recommend
Go here! This is the place you want to go to see any and all Art House films. Anything that isnt the mainstream will be shown here and it such a cool place. Comfortable seating and they have a full bar and cool art on the walls. They have spots to lounge and talk before or after if you want to eat a little and drink and talk. Its a real cool spot.
Fun place to hang catch a good movie very clean place, its old place but very cozy and very gay friendly
I really enjoy the cozy atmosphere, the campy and cult classic movies, and the craft beer I can enjoy while watching the film.
Fun, intimate theater with classic and art movies, doney with live band
I enjoy the vibes write a lot!
Great atmosphere with cozy indie vibes. I am happy to support the local cinema scene.
Fun place to watch movies and enjoy delicious tamales!
Very nice and quant place... The Staff is very nice in a genuine kind of way...
Filmbar is a great spot to just hang out and have a beer or watch great independent cinema, or both!
Its a pretty cool cozy little bar that shows corny movies and gives you popcorn. Cool concept. Its a neighborhood gem.
Cool spot very cozy and can get warm but neat experience
Great experience, the staff was nice and the movie Carrie was even better on a big screen.
Cute little theater. Awesome into from a host before the film began.
It says the hours are 5pm till midnight but they were open at 4:57 with people already enjoying drinks at the bar. I loved this place because it only shows small release and classic films.
A true independent movie house.
Really really cool place. Movie seats dont cushion the area your elbows would go, but other than that I have no complaints
