I just started walking the trail. It is great for walking, biking, running/jogging I love that it is so easily accessible with ramps or stairs at major streets along the way. There are places to sit and relax or stretch. When the weather is nice you can even sit by the river and picnic. It can get crowded when the weather is nice but, you can still safely enjoy your run/walk/bike/skates.
Beautiful place to go to when you need a nice quiet place to think about things including events and making decisions about life and direction.
Wow... They really did make this area great! Nice exercise for a walk, jog, run, or bike.
Great fishing spot when you want a quick getaway. Beautiful and well lit at nightime.
There are NO restrooms so make sure you keep this in mind. The view of the river is excellent the whole way with plenty of places to sit or fish. I walk and bike this trail multiple times a week. Its a perfect escape from the city
The elevated walkways are new, clean, and cool looking. The grass area was well maintained and pleasant. Most of the trees are new so there wasnt much of a selection of picnic areas if shade is what you desire. The whole area was hopping.
Nice for a leisurely stroll along the bank and for you selfie lovers theres plenty of spots for you to get your selfie fix.
One of the good places to consider if you want some peaceful time, go for a walk, exericse, fishing or avoid city life for a moment.
Beautiful way to connect to the water, get exercise and unwind.
Almost idyllic. You got to fake it until you make it. But you can make it.
Always lovely to come a d picnic here
Ive been walking along Schuylkill Banks park or bicycling down it for years, every since it was built. This time I was on assignment from a meditation class at Shambhala Center. Take in mindful awareness as we walked in the urban environment. What happened was unexpected. As I walked I was seeing and experiencing what was present, but at the same time I also experienced many layers of the past; times I ride with me son or walked with friends when various buildings were not yet in existence. Each step of the walk brought back different experiences, overlaying the past people and buildings that had been here on top of the people and buildings here now.It felt like Philadelphia was opening like a flower whose petals were layered through time as I walked past. I almost didnt know which petal to look at; the ones that brought back memories of people I love and loved our the city as it is in this moment; in this present, which has more people and more cars and more buildings and is changing each second as I take each step along the river.
Serene place to spend by. Spend your weekend there to pass time.
This is a gorgeous, must-see, walking and biking path in Philly. Even if youre a visitor, the views of the city are great and its a gorgeous way to experience the river. I live nearby and go on walks here all the time.I will note for biker though - it can get extremely busy when its really nice out, and at peak hours of the day. Ive seen several bikers fall off their bikes by hitting people or trying to avoid people. It may not be the best place for bikes, but if you ride further past the art museum it is less crowded.
Love biking on the trail any day of the week
This was a nice place to relax. The bike trail is okay, but can get a little congested with ppl walking & running, mostly because its just not very wide. Nice views of the river & a decent grassy area for some sun
Great scenery, great breeze, havent seen homeless around
Great views of the city nice bike trail, good for jogging, skating or just hang a hammock with your friends
Great! The place is beautiful. Love it!
Amazing rice and beans, try the stewed pork/ox tail
Beautiful river banks, will always being you peace
Best place to go for a evening walk, bike or run. They are expanding it.
One of my favorite places to catch the sunset and meditate, or have an impromptu picnic lunch. You can access the schuylkill river trail and bank all along the trail, but I live nearby Walnut and I usually hang around that area if Im not walking the trail trying not to get run over by cyclists and plowed by runners; its quite the adventure even just trying to cross the trail to sit on the banks...think Frogger! All jokes aside (though still do be careful) it is a worthwhile place to enjoy a little air and green space without leaving the city.
So grateful that the the daily walk from 30th Street Station to my office includes a little jaunt along the Schuylkill Banks Trail!
Great place/route for a run, jog, walk, or to bike.
Great running/biking path. Amazing view
Great place to take a walk next to river, whether you are with small kids or with your pets.
Great for walking/running/biking but the view is nothing special
A great running space early in the morning, a bit to busy in the afternoon
Very well kept area with lots to see as you walk along.
Always love the scenery and peaceful atmosphere.
Great place to hang out in Philly. Very popular trail
Great peaceful time..awsome..
Is amazing what has been built for the city and its people. The maintenance of it is out of this world. I highly suggest volunteering to help out keep the banks fresh and clean - theres always something to do - if youre looking to give back to the community. Thank you!!
Nice walking path, sitting areas and view
My most favorite way to get to work! Love the ability to bike ride safely and get away from the hustle and bustle. I look forward to further expansions of the trail!
If u are asking me why i gave five star its because i have alot of childhood memories here wining my first fishing tournament i still fish here one of the top carp fishing spot
Best outdoor place in Philly.
Very nice place for hike
Great place to kayak in center city Philadelphia, very unique experience to view every day city life taking place all around you, while you float on the rivers surface calmly at easy and peace with Mother Nature. There are many old, abandoned, & forgotten bridges, loading docks, etc... to observer along your journey up and down the river. It’s only about a 30 min row to Philadelphia museum of Art from here.
Better than the High Line. Phillys best views, dog run, romantic spot and exercise area, all in one!
Love the view of the city. Great place to workout
They are improving this more every year. It can get VERY crowded but its still beautiful.
An ambitious open space project, The Schuylkill River Trail provides around 60 miles of leisure and utility fitness space. It’s not clearly signed from the city, so if you’re visiting Philadelphia your best bet is to walk to the nearest bridge crossing the Schuylkill, and keep your eyes peeled for steps leading down on the eastern bank. From there, chase it north into country that looks like more like Henley than anything in the USA.
Fun, exciting, beautiful, and sometimes dangerous. Please keep right and pass left as walkers, runners, bicyclists compete for space during busy hours.
One of the best biking/walking trails anywhere.
Awesome at night. Plenty of scenery for photographers
Beautiful path and park. Favorite, the boardwalk section that floats on the water. Rest stops and shaded benches. Stunning views and smiling visitors. Dog park nearby, museum and plenty of food options nearby. Access is easy and nice green spaces for picnic, sunning and experiencing nature in the city. The compost restrooms are 24 hour and a responsibile and forward thinking upgrade. Have fun!
We enjoyed fishing along the Schuylkill banks this summer.
Good place to relax and clear your mind
Beautiful day!
Just beautiful kudos to mayor nutter
Love this place. Relaxing and great scenery. An urban Oasis.
Nice space beautiful scenery
THE WORKER BLAZE ON THE BANKS IS A BAD PERSON HE PUT HIS HANDS ON PEOPLE THAT FISH DOWN THERE THATS NOT GOOD
What a beautiful place to jog. Philadelphia is great. Love the food scene. Make sure you get the gelato. Beats out the gelato in Italy!
Great place to jog at
Attended Parks on Tap on the Schuylkill River. Great view, atmosphere, and vibe.
One of my favorite places in the city
Lovely, peaceful place in the middle of the city. Philadelphia may screw up some things, but they definitely got this right.
Awesome evening top side view.of the banks. .
If you are trying to get around Philadelphia and the Greenway/Schuylkill banks walkway is a parallel path I highly suggest taking the detour. As the heat and humidity settles within the buildings in center City, you can escape a bit for some fresh air and cool breeze by walking on this path. The path can take you from downtown Philly to valley forge (more of a bike distance) and offers some nice views along the way.
Great Bodyrock Bootcamp workout next to the river
Wonderful walks connecting major attractions like Rocky steps and Boatyard Row #SandyFLL
Views are fantastic and just a great place to get a run or walk. There has been so many changes, for the better, around the entire area. ..and its basically safe.
A fantastically serene place located close enough to Philly downtown to be accessible, and far enough to take one out of the hustle and noise of the historic district. I enjoyed visiting this place multiple times during my 5-day visit to Philly. Even though the river is dirty and appears brown the surrounding greenery makes up for it. The paved trail seems to stretch endlessly, making it an ideal spot for running, cycling, walking, or just hanging out with friends on a full moon night. Watching 4th of July fireworks from this location was amazing. The city can get hot and sultry during summer but walking by the river on the trail and boardwalk is sure to help ease the discomfort.
Beautiful sunset, and amazing view of the river. Its a short walk from a couple parks, so one can get some good pictures of the golden hour both at the parks, then at the bridge with the sunset. This place is great to bike around, with a bike lane that coasts the river as far as the eye can see.
Lovely place to do whatever you like: from read a book to taichi or a baby shower. Always a good atmosphere and University City skyline on the background
Great route to take to work for so many people. Though, there are a lot of people on the trail that seem to have never of heard of staying in their lane
Beautiful place for walking, biking, or running
Can be crowded on a nice day but in the summer around sunset, its to die for!
Beautiful day for a long walk along the river...
For anyone that likes to take pictures and for all my photographers out there. Its some nice shots down there. Check it out when you guys get the chance.
Great for a run or bicycle trip. Beautiful views, especially near and north of the art museum.
A cool urban park along the little river in center city Philadelphia. Its 4 blocks from my apartment. I go their every week. An excellent example of local politicians funding quality of life programs for ALL citizens
Yes,I enjoy walking and as a young girl wanted to be a Civil engineer but decided on a Business path with an emphasis on the sciences.
Great for walking, running, and biking!
Best place for an after work lazy stroll during summer afternoons. You can walk, run and bike. Also a nice place for small afternoon picnics. Nice view of the river and philly skyline. Nice place near University city to sit and relax.
Great time riding the backs and at the skateboard park
Nice place to sit and enjoy Philadelphia scenery
Beautiful views, great spots along the river to set up a hammock or picnic blanket. There are benches and grassy areas to stop at and a public restroom along the way. It can get pretty crowded when the weather is nice. While walking the path, please be wary of cyclists. They can often times be rude and entitled, not to mention dangerous. Not all of them, but it only takes one to injure you or otherwise ruin your day.
If you love the city life then you will enjoy these walk and running paths.
If you want to see some of the greatest views in Philadelphia, all you need to do is take a stroll or a jog along this trail. Started South Street, and at the Art Museum for concentrated collection of sight. The only lament is that the trail is not wide enough to accommodate the sheer volume of people that enjoy using this park.
Fantastic place to ride bike. Easy access to Philly attractions.
At night the light look beautiful reflecting off of the water. Great place to clear my mind.
If you are looking for a place to walk, run, or even just ride your bike with your friends or family, this is the perfect place to go to when in Center City Philadelphia. The trail is around 10 miles long, but while you are just walking and chatting with your family or friends, you may not even notice the length.
