The playground equipment is nothing special but the sprinkler is a giant dragon (my son says it’s a dinosaur but I disagree) and it is awesome. Lots of room to run around on a hot summer day and a few benches in the shade for grown-ups to sit in. But I recommend running through the water too!
Nice playground for small children, shady areas for grown ups to sit, great sports fields, adjacent to beautiful hiking trails.
We LOVE this splashground so much I almost dont want to review it because its not usually too busy. The playgrounds are clean. The fields/courts are upkept. There are plenty of places to sit in the sun or the shade. The patrons are typically friendly and can be observed parenting their children. My only wish it that the bathroom was available during open splash hours.
Great neighborhood playground. Basketball courts, floor hockey, playground equipment for younger kids, baseball field and big open field for play. Also has an awesome spray ground!
As far as city recreational centers go houston is likely the nicest ....
Great place to cool off in the summer....SprayGround for kids...bathrooms locked in the middle of the day...plenty of benches and picnic tables in the shade...athletic fields and courts... Wissahickon trails near by...easily accessed by public transportation and a short walk...interesting spiral path that leads to a hidden picnic area...
2 somewhat run down play areas (2-5 y/o, and older kids.) The little kids playground has shade so thats where I took my kids. Too hot to play in the other one, and even the structure that was in the shade, the slide was way too hot to use. There was dog poo in the older kids playground and overall the play areas didnt seem well maintained. Its a shame because the spray pad seems so fun!Big field next to the playground to run around and easy street parking.
Cool little playground and Community Center. Actually just went there because thats where they keep the voting machine on Election Day. Met a very cool person handing out flyers. Hope to see her again selling cookies on primary day, but probably wont happen because of some stupid voting rules. But Ill remember her for a long time. Please note - results are not typical.
Safe. Clean. Connected to Valley Green park. Small water park for the young ones. Hockey, tennis courts, basket ball courts and play ground. One of the best Philadelphia play grounds.
Absolutely a wonderful park. It is used by the whole community. The park has a childrens section, basketball courts, baseball field, soccer fields, and even a hockey rink. Th only flaw I saw was that the baseball field needed to be mowed. What a great park.
I love going on the trails
My grand daughter loved the water area. Good clean and well kept park.
Loved it as a child and it just keeps getting better.
I love this “playground”. I basically grew up st Houston, between me playing in every roller hockey league possible, and when I was young they had just resurfaced the rink, and going to see my friends play either Softball or Basketball on top of having been brought there when I was much younger by my parents so I could play on the actual playground. The playground itself is unique to the area in the sense that, when they redid it a few years ago they put in a new, larger, more elaborate fountain system that is made so that kids can run through and play in it.
Took my 2 daughters here. They had a blast. Lots of other kids came, too. Its a little run down, but charmingly so. The splash pad will be a good time when next we go. The walking tail does have a bit of poison ivy, so be careful, but its a quaint little park with other facilities there, too.
This is a very nice park for kids and nice place too have a nice party for kids
It is great place to bring kids of all ages. Recently Scout Troop 474 cleared the path at the bottom of the hill. They cleared the undergrowth and a lot of trees and logs.
Great! Waterground, check. Toddler playground, check. Child playground, check. They also have a baseball field and an outdoor hockey rink Id like to see parks and rec bring back to life.
I love this playground the best its clean and well maintained best in Roxbourgh
Playground was very nice. Soccer field wasnt too bad. Seen nicer but Ive also seen much, much worse. My son liked hiking through the trees behind the field/playground.
Very safe and clean. Nice place to bring your kids.
What an awesome spot to bring kids in the nice hot weather. Was just here with my 2 yr old playing in the sprinkler park. We noticed a small baby bird fell out of their nest and the people working here (either camp directors or similar) went right to getting gloves and a ladder and put the baby back in his nearby nest. Good people still exist in this world. After this experience I will certainly consider sending my son to camp here when he’s old enough.
Very nice park for the kids to enjoy
Loved it. Nice clean and great place for the kids
Tennis, basketball and hockey courts. Multipurpose ball field. Two jungle gyms. Spray style water park (limited hours... Check park home page.) Nice stopping place during a hike or bike ride in the Wissahickon valley.
A beautiful park with some spray ground features, a shaded jungle gym, and a basketball court. Also, a super secret entrance to the Wissahickon trails!
I visit there sometimes, have happy memories when my children were little.
Great playground. great soccer club.
Good bathrooms for hikers.
Has a kiddy park, a big kid park, a sprinkler park, a hockey rink, a baseball field, a trail you can walk down into the woods ( I loved that as a kid ) they do summer camp they got all kinds of stuff goin on there its huge
Spray ground supposed to be open at 12:00 and parents have been waiting around. A parent called and was told that someone would be around to turn the water on at 1:30 maybe 2:00pm. It’s too hot out for lazy city workers to roll in whenever they feel like to turn the water on for a service that tax payers are paying for. It’s a cute sprayground but, this issue with when water will be turned on is not fair to the children and families who drive all the way out and make plans around enjoying this park.
Too many teenaged kids roaming around in the evenings.
Found this by accident when I really needed a bathroom while hiking in the area. Super clean rec center...Staff person graciously allowed me to use the facilities. Was super impressed with the security on the fields and playground...Security cameras everywhere.
Played some basketball in the cold with my daughter the place is clean and in a decent neighborhood .
Grew up at this park, now I take my kids to this park an they love it, for me it will always be my favorite playground an I love how that little bridge takes you on a path thru the woods I used to go back there as a kid an pretend I was in the woods! You can do anything you want at this park its got it all! Kiddy playground, big kid playground, hockey rink, basketball courts, baseball field, an sprinkler park!
Nice place to bring kids
My daughters favorite!
Water play, well kept, nice shade over the little kids play area and met nice families.
Great place for kids and sports
Somewhat run down and dirty. Was looking forward to the water fountain being turned on while we were in the area, which was listed as a certain time on the website, but after half an hour of still being off past that time, we gave up and left.
Its a hidden treasure. My god son had a surprise birthday party there . It has the water sprinkler, swing and sliding boards nice place for ages 2-13 I really enjoyed the place.
Great rec center!
Nice spray ground & theres a Rec center for summer camps.
Love and grew up with this playground. Just wish the flood lights worked after dark.
Great place to bring kids, but there is a hiking trail behind the park as well.
Kids play area with a fun sprinkler, hockey, basketball, baseball fields with lights. Great park.
Pretty cool spot
Kid loves it here. Has two playgrounds, one for kids under 4 and one for older kids. Also has basketball courts and a baseball field
Houston has changed so much since I went there as a kid. Theres a new fountain for kids to play in, a soccer field was built a few years ago, the playgrounds were redone around the same time too. The only thing that hasnt changed is the main building itself. Tennis, basketball, hockey, or just fun, Houston is the place to go.
Love it there the kids always have a lot of fun and the spray area is amazing the best I have seen:)
Friendly people great space but the equipment could use some tlc.
Nice, Quiet Great place to take UR kids or just to go for a walk or play basketball Hockey or Tennis or Baseball With a Beautiful Veiw if Fairmount park with tons of walking trails Enjoy urself their 365 days a year..
Its a nice park but its not the same without the rocket
Great neighborhood park with a lot of various fields. Easy link into Wissahickon park and a spraygorund make this one of the better Philadelphia Parks.
Beautiful area
This is a great sprinkler playground but remember to bring your bug spray, mosquitos can be bad here.
Dope place
Great hidden gem for kids
Nice fields and pavilion. Updated playground but still rather the old one with the rocket ship
Playground is too shabby for such an affluent community! Shameful!!
Great for the kids such a peaceful area
Great balling courts
Goodddd
Playground for younger and older kids. Sprayground. Ball fields. Rec center has programs for kids.
Me and the dog really enjoyedthe nature walk.
Kinda small.
This place is really run down and in need of a desperate rehab its in need of a desperate rehab with the exception of the water park And really needs to be rehabbed
A hidden gem.
Very Red!
Sprinklers for kids 2 playgrounds roller hockey ring basketball
Hockey rinks are right there
Nice
Teenagers are out of control, disrespectful and drinking alcohol
Nice playground
Nice clean environment!!!!
Awesome playground
Great splash zone for kids
Community Hub for parties, games, and recreational fun!
Broken glass all over, penises drawn on slides and playground equipment, overall a not nice place for kids.
