Very lovely tour full of great information. Our kids really learned a lot. So grateful places like this still exist to preserve history and educate the future.

There is a lot of history in our city. The Johnson House is a part of it. Stop in & Learn something new. This place helped many Slaves find the way to freedom. Well kept & preserved a true treasure.

The Johnson House is truly a Gem in Germantown... Amazing events and the Monthly Book Club gatherings are truly wonderful where a Range of Literature is discussed with a diverse group and the hospitality of the Staff makes these meetings truly Special. I urge the Community to support this Historical institution.

Go there and see if Jim is there. He is an amazing story teller and kept my 7 and 9 year old kids glued to his stories of history!

Being able to see a home that was a part of the underground railroad and share this experience with my little one was great! From the actual bed where abolitionist Jennette Rowland slept, the original floors and wallpapers, the window where the candle sat to signal the safe house, to seeing the small attic space above the kitchen where slaves hid, the slave collars was a lot to take in. We will definitely be back! Our guidd, Serena was GREAT! Go and visit its well worth it!

Tremendously enjoyed the tour of the Johnson House. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and spoke eloquently about the inhabitants, the home itself, and stories of freedom seekers who escaped from the South.

Very upsetting, how children are being told that 90% of the Indians just died from disease!!!!! Never mention how europeans killed them off with disease, murder and put the rest on reservations!!! They also completly water down what actually happened to slaves! They describe the european invasion of africans in a very pleasant way, saying as EXPERT builders (africans) europeans decided to get them to help build america! I think its horrible how europeans are teaching ppl of color watered down history! These EXPERT BUILDERS were ripped from their families, beaten, raped, robbed, misled and stripped from their dignity! Theses experts DIED in unimaginable conditions crossing the ocean, but of course none of this is mentioned! Why even mention any of these things if ur not gonna go in detail???? Pls get ppl of color to work their so the truth can be told properly! My ancestors stories need to be told properly!
