I was in the area so I decided to grab some pictures of the cedar Grove Mansion. It’s a remarkable testament knowing that this home sat in northeast phila, then the home was dismantled and moved to its current location,Sometime in the 1920’s. It sits nestled in a really nice less traveled road in the corner of the park. The architecture is very stunning to say the least. I didn’t venture inside, maybe another day. Beautiful and interesting historical home in Fairmount Park. Lots of original furniture and artifacts. Enjoyed our tour and asking questions about the house, the owners and seeing how they would have lived. Only 10 minutes from the Philadelphia Museum of Art by car.

Had an exceptionally great tour here. The house has a long history and is well maintained with many of the original contents. Ample free parking and proximity to other fairmont park attractions make Cedar Grove a great side trip.

Really interesting hidden gem of a historic house with many of the original familys belongings.

We came here for the Cider fest in October, which included a tour of all the mansions in the area. I really enjoyed all of them and the tours each house offered. They were all unique and had really fascinating bits of furniture and history. It would be a good place to come if visiting for a few days because you get a really good bit of old Philidelphia history as well as a good view and experience in the parks, which are some of the largest in the nation. Theres a bus that goes around the park to each home so getting around to all of them is easy. Recommend!

This is a really fun class trip.

A classic in American Revolutionary homes. I was employed there at a time. I enjoyed giving tours of the hose and describing its rich history.
