Sits just on the corner of 33rd street not far from the Philadelphia Zoological Garden. It’s really nice, you can tell that’s it’s very old within it’s self. The landscape is nice it’s well lit so at night it has a very nostalgic feel. I often ride by it today I decided to check it out. The information plaque that is displayed is in terrible shape. The history that this home has can not easily be seen. It’s a very bad thing to encounter when it is displayed that the Fairmount Park Commission is not doing its best to conserve the history of the home. The paint is thick and chipped the signs of wearing and the elements taking its toll are prevalent. Someone needs to look after this historic home more carefully. It’s still cool!! I give it 5 ️ because it’s free!! Free to look at free to touch!!

The gathering was to honor my fathers heroism and while the affair was fabulous it was not for some disabilities: those using wheelchairs or walkers. Musical entertainment was on the lawn with some artistic displays. I truly liked the architectural detail of the house & the button making table as well as the portrait table was creative. I would encourage visitation on the basis of how this house was used shortly after it was built - explore & learn.

I live there in the 60s when it was a museum on the first floor and living quarters on the second and third floor.
