Beautiful historical place. A must see while visiting Philadelphia.
Franklin Court is a historical building with such beautiful architecture. The court yard part you walk through a long tunnel to get to. Very beautiful experience.
Loved this. Take time for the videos.
No cost to wander through this courtyard behind the post office and printing press to see labeled diggings of Benjamin Franklins former home including where is kitchen and toilet were. Im sure many have walked by and through this courtyard without realizing the small structures with windows looks down into the archeological dig.
If you are in philly u should spend time here.
Interesting to tour. History everywhere. Reproductions of Franklins presses are inside as is his sons print shop office in back. Ask the Ranger on duty to take you into Franklins sons office and show you some of the books.
Within walking distance of other historic Philadelphia sites. In addition to what is in the courtyard, there is a printing press and museum here as well.
Super interesting details into Ben Franklin
There is enough here to keep the kids busy for a good couple of hours. There is Benjamin Franklins Printing Office where they can watch a printing press in action, the first post office in the United States where you can post a letter with Benjamin Franklins post mark to the Benjamin Franklin Museum. The outline of Benjamin Franklins house in the courtyard is quite impressive to get an idea of the space in which he lived. If you are traveling with kids you should allow at least two to three hours to do everything by the time they explore the Museum. However sans kids, you would be comfortable squeezing it all in with an hour.Worth a stop and only a gentle 5 to 10 minute stroll from Independence Hall.
A great place to take the family and your children . The museum, the printing shop and the court yard are great places for the family to see. Not far from Independance Hall or the Liberty Bell.
Benjamin Franklin was walking through and stopped to talk to us about his home. It was very interesting to get details about his life and family that would be buried deep in biographies. The printing press demonstration was well worth the stop for the kids.
It was interesting little square with a ghostly outline of where Ben Franklins house used to be. And being able to see below the surface at the foundation of his house was interesting. The placards were informative, and the square wasnt as crowded as other sites nearby, so you can get some breathing room to enjoy the site.
My bf n children went her on a school trip
Great museum dedicated to one of my favorite Founding Fathers - Ben Franklin. Lots of political background as well as cultural and social history here. Highly tecommemded.
What a great experience. Seeing Benjamin Franklins print shop was such a great learning experience. The gentleman working the press was so engaging and informative. He even took time to engage us in personal conversation about historical topics. Plus you can purchase documents printed from Ben Franklins press. I picked up two copies of the Declaration of Independence for only $3 a piece. They make great gifts.
Interesting but a bit unconnected the explanation
Great family place to visit all of Americas history
Cool spot to see fragments of Bens house.
Very interesting and interactive museum. I would go there again.
Remains of a house that was built by Benjamin Franklin in 1786. He built that house on that spot because it was the first place he lived when arriving in Philadelphia in 1723. At that time it was a boarding house, and it was there he met his wife, Deborah.
Nice trip back in time to see the life of Benjamin Franklin.
I went to Franklin Court printing office. I went there when they almost close but they welcome me in and gladly answered my questions. So much info there and friendly staff.
Free to stop by the courtyard. See national treasures like Benjamin Franklins unexcavated privy pit!
Worst
Very enjoyable historic spot
A MUST!
Food
Very interesting facts!
This place is terrible now you have to PAY to get in.. it used to be FREE to get in and they used to have phones where you can actually talk to Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson etc.. this place SUCKS now.
Not Rebuild the residence which was demolished before, but ghost reconstruction of the form of the house and print shop is really cool
