We had a great time here with our family. Both floors of the museum had attractions the kids loved and the price was very reasonable. The tickets are also good for 7 days so we brought our children back towards the end of our vacation.Definitely worth the time and cost to visit.
Nowhere near a 4 star experience as it currently holds. Unless you have never been to a children’s museum anywhere and have nothing to compare it to. Not at all a great hands on or interactive setup. Very sad. Save your money. The upstairs is bare and very little to accommodate older children as another review stated. Downstairs has a pirate ship and very bare bones colonial forts w random wooden toys and plastic foods. Some very skimpy animal magnet wall & barnyard. Strange. Skip it.
My 3 year old son loved it here! Definitely more for children 8 and under but my 10 year old found it interesting also. The only downside is that if they are having a party, you cant do anything downstairs.
Super cute place to visit! It is smaller so you dont need a lot of time dedicated to this museum but they offer great interactive things for kids to do. I love the location and the building is beautiful.
We all had fun during our visit to the museum. We paid almost $20 for the entrance and a 20 min. ride for 2 adults and a toddler. The ticket was also good for one week. First floor had a lot of pretend plays with costumes your little ones could try. 2nd floor has more historical displays and a LEGO room. The best part was our train ride. It went around the “historic district” and it was a blast. Our 15- month old had a 3-hr nap after!
In my opinion this place is nice but for the place being small overrated and the price its not worth wasting your time and money. Unless you can afford to waste both if you have a lot of money. It would be nice if it was at a bigger place and has A LOT more things to for kids and appropriate age to where from toddlers and 3+ ages. Sorry not worth my time.
I Love this place. And my Granddaughters enjoy there self so much. Thanks
Very nice place with hx and enjoyable. Gets a little too crowded in popular rooms. Love it for kids and adults.
Wonderful place for children! There were so many things for the children to do. My 5 and 1 year old grandchildren both loved it.
Great place for kids to learn and interact. My youngest son (7) and grandson (3) didnt want to leave and cant wait to go back. The tickets are good for a week, so you can go back at anytime during those 7 days (during open hours).
Fun museum for the family. Our kids enjoyed it, expecially the shopping mart
We visited Museum for Publix Super Markets exhibit. It is fine for a child but it is only one room was converted for it and price is too high ($20 - 2 adult and child). $8 for adult ticket, hmm, just for observing how our child plays .
The Pensacola Childrens Museum is quaint and smaller than I had expected, however it was perfect for my 2.5 year old son! He enjoyed the downstairs area which focused on history. Upstairs, the building block room seemed to be his favorite! Staff was pleasant and admission included several other museums in the area!
The kids had a great time pretending and building, etc here. Also, the ticket is good for 4 locations within the historic district, and the pass is good for 7 days! This is a great spot for a rainy (or extremely hot) day! The exhibits were interesting and interactive, and even though my kids arent readers yet, they still had a great time playing!
Just the first floor is very interactive and entertaining. The second floor has a lego room which is always a plus for everybody, specially the kids. My kids love it. They do offer some craft classes which is also a very good thing to keep the kids socially active and at the same time learning something!
Daughter broke her wrist and could not go to the ocean. Brought her here for a good time. She enjoyed it very much. Was a hot day outside and was nice and cool indoors. Friendly staff.
This is a delightful museum for children. It packs in a lot of information on local history using interactive activities. Well worth the time for children.
My kids (age 3 and 4)really enjoyed this place.the downstairs part especially. They were able to play with pretty much everything on display. The upstairs part was quite interesting but less entertaining for them. There were also benches to sit and take a rest just fyi. If you are planning a visit here you should know that no food or drink is allowed and there is a small store upfront to purchase souvenirs. Overall we definitely enjoyed this museum and will visit again soon.
Really wanted to give one star, but the staff was nice. Not only is it very very small, but it is in dire need of renovation and updates. Should be by donation only. Our grandbaby enjoyed it mostly because there were other kids.
The BEST place for a school field trip! Jim McMillen always takes great care of us, too!!
It was a great place for kids to play and learn about the history of Pensacola. The first floor was closed off due to a bday party, so we werent able to explore that area.
Awesome Lego room and dozens of places to act out adventures with you little ones. I do wish there were more places for the adults to sit
Good idea but they need a little more room to explore especially for parties
Nice place to take tour kids to and spend some time, could be bigger
Perfect half day adventure for our two year old. I highly Recommend it for kids up to about 7 years old.
This place is great for smaller kids .my younger kids were so excited..lots to do for them..love that u can play and pretend your in a different time..set up very nicely.
Great place for some interactive activities with young kids.
Im not sure how much fun older kids would have here, but it is great for small children/toddlers. Our son had an absolute blast and the price is very reasonable. I highly recommend going on a Saturday and riding the train around downtown.
Very nice museum for children. My kids are 9 and 6 and the 6 year old had a lot of fun, my 9 year old was a little old for the stuff that they had there. There was a Lego room on the second floor that they both really enjoyed.
My son (25 months) loved it. We were on the the 2nd floor for over an hour! Definitely coming back tomorrow to explore the 1st floor!
Cute place for kids. Tad overpriced for adults.
Nice to place to visit for the kiddos. Learn abit of history too.
It was a very clean and organized. The only problem was how small it was. Parents and children can become crammed at peak times. The passes for the Children’s Meuse are good for the others in the area too for up to 7 days after purchase. It is definitely worth it if you plan on checking out the other museums as well. We paid extra for the train rides that run on Saturdays, my son loved it.
My 4 year old had so much fun here. She says its her favorite place. A must do in Pensacola!
Nice small local museum for kids.
Great little museum for little ones to burn off energy. A must visit for those with ~12 and under
What a wonderful place to expand your childrens minds we really like it
My kiddo had a fun time meeting other kids, wish there had been more he was interested in. But for older kids it was cool.
Was simple and small... Upstairs was 5 small rooms with an exhibit and interaction, downstairs was more interactive as it allows kids to play freely. My 18 month old granddaughter loved it but it definitely was small and I would say a 8+ year old would become bored easily!! We spent about 20 minutes there. Only 5 bucks and wasted a lil time so overall it was okay if you dont mind a drive or are ever in Indianapolis Indiana definetly go to there childrens museum it will blow your mind!!! Several different floors with 100s of different exhibits/activities and theres an entire floor just for kids to play in!!!! All ages from 1 to adults
A nice place visist
Nice museum for younger children. Definitely aimed at ages up to eight or nine years old.
It was small, but you get to visit a few museums within walking distance for the price of entry. Well worth it
A fun place for kids. Reasonably priced entry fee and the staff is great!
Coolest little place to take these little ppl
We were visiting Pensacola and had hoped to bring our toddler here. We have been to few other childrens museums and they are always a fun time for our toddler. However, we were unable to do anything because there were field trips and I guess they cant have regular guests intermingling with those kids. This was rather disappointing, and not something I have seen any other childrens museums employ. I do understand that this is not an overwhelmingly large location, but I feel that there might be a better way to solve this problem. Maybe having more activities in the upstairs area so that children that are not part of large groups can still have a great time. I think this business could stand to reevaluate how they handle these situations.
Overall, very disappointing. After presenting our pass from another children’s museum, we paid $20 to get in. We were told this is because other history museums were included. However, they weren’t open during the week that our passes were good, due to the Holidays. But, we were not offered a discount for what we couldn’t use. There were some nice history displays, but they didn’t really appeal to the kids. There weren’t a lot of activities and what there was, we could have done at home (Legos, wooden bricks, and a small train set). For $20, I could have better entertained my children by buying a Lego set. Lastly, the building was uncomfortably hot. The cost, heat and relatively few hands-on things made this very disappointing.
They apparently do not have phones or can’t answer them . Not sure what the problem is with that but I called for over an hour to make sure a party wasn’t happening so my daughter who is 3 didn’t have to play upstairs . She couldn’t understand why she couldn’t play with the other kids. Shame on you guys . Get phones or have people answer them ... something so people don’t have to bring their children there when a party is going on & have to hear my 3 year old cry that no one wants to play with her and think it’s her fault . NO it’s this places fault for poor customer service... I’m curious do you even have phones & what’s the point if you don’t answer ? Over an hour we called to prevent this from happening. Heartbroken for my child and will never go back . I will never see my child’s heart break like that when it could have been preventable.
I took my two younger boys (ages 9 months & 3 years) to the children’s museum during vacation for a midday activity. The museum was very clean. Both of my children enjoyed playing in the various rooms available. I thought that some of the materials were in need of replacement due to bite marks or excessive wear. A lot of the historical information seemed too wordy for children to comprehend.
Not much to see or do for a 2.5 year old. Could have stayed home and played with blocks and fake food. Didn’t really impress us. The only good thing is that admission gets you in to nearby museums and the pass is good for 7 days. Has some potential but really is lacking any type of museum feel. Everything seems beat up and not interesting.
Great place for an educational break and its affordable.
It’s decent enough. Kids will have fun, but there isn’t much to interact with. Does not compare with the ones in big cities, but my kids like it.
It was okay, ideal for smaller children. Very small and could easily see everything in 30-45 mins.
So much history preserved!
My two year old loved it. Had so much fun playing with everything he could put his hands on
Good place to take younger kids. Clean and neat.
Traveling from New Orleans . This is More like a history museum, we have 4 kids and have been to many children’s museums. By far the worst, then to top it off the down stairs was closed for a birthday, we thought maybe the upstairs had more activities for the kids. Wrong.
Very nice place to teach kids about the of the maritime history of Pensacola
Its the size of a standard downtown business, so not very big. Its basically a cool play room with costumes to try on, and a few historical facts posted around.Kids can still have a great time, but I was disappointed by the lack of educational material.
Not at all what I expected :/ There are like four tiny rooms (tiny as in one family can comfortably dit in the room at a time) with a busy body activity in them, and some info on the walls. We basically paid to play with Legos lol Not a terrible rainy day nothing better to do thing, if you take the other museums included in the price, but if youre looking for an actual childrens museum, this isnt it.
We went here for a relative’s birthday party. The reserved space is at the front by the entrance. After cake and ice cream, the kids got to run and play. Downstairs there are a few stations that the kids can play with and they are interactive. It was cool. Our 2 year old enjoyed it. My 10 year old was bored to death. There is an upstairs however it’s supposed to have 5 rooms and only 2 were open. It was okay but I think I would have been substantially disappointed if we had paid an actual admission fee for entrance however this was a great setting for a birthday girl turning 3 and her smaller friends and family members.
My grandkids love this museum. Fun educational learning experience. Lots of cool interactive play.
Not as impressive as I thought it would be, but the kids had fun.
What a fun little museum! Friendly staff, fun and hands-on exhibits, great overview of the history of Pensacola, and a bonus show with Sylvester the Jester! We had a blast and will be back!
Fantastic for very small kids (preschool)! We loved coming here when the kids were little!
This is neat little spot to bring kids ages 4-9. The museum offers a lot of hands-on activities. The museum is divided into historical themed sections (Spanish heritage, British heritage, Native American, etc.)which is really cool and unique. The museum should hold you and your childs attention for about an hour. Ticket prices were around $8, but once purchased, you can visit multiple times over the course of five days.
Ms. Brenna was super fantastic!
Good place for kids, needs more attractions.
Great childrens spot! My kids were definitely entertained.
Great museum! Highly recommended for kids.
Great place for kids to play. Loved the fact that they incorporated local history into the play stations.
For toddlers its fine, but my 4 year old was almost bored in 15 minutes. Also a group would be good. The tickets are good for a week, though.
Not too big but has some activities for keep children busy like Lego tables and blocks.
We have 3 children from 6 months to 8 years they all enjoyed coming here
Great place for kids to play and learn.
Great for children to learn, play and explore!!We went to a birthday party here and it was amazing. Staff is super friendly!
Love the history. Upstairs was most interesting for our 7 year old. Preschooler liked downstairs.
Nice for all ages and gives kids areas to play in also while they learn
My children enjoyed their time here. It is small but for young kids, plenty of things to keep them occupied for about an hour.
A lot of neat things for the kids to play with and adults to learn from. Great for a rainy or cold day. I would go again definitely
My son loved all the interactive exibits.
All the kids played dress up,and were having a good time learning about colonial times.
Small museum. Great for small children.
Fun place for kids to hang out. Parents enjoy it was well. Half price on Sundays. Special events almost every Saturday.
Really neat little childrens museum close to the historic village. Two floors of exhibits and a lot of interactive and manipulative stuff. This is a great stop if the weather is inclement. We were glad we made the stop, great for elementary-aged kids.
It is very interactive for children but I would say from toddlers to 1st grade only. They need to be given a grant to that they can be enlarged and more educational information. I say this because Ive been to childrens museums in Chicago IL, Harrisonburg VA and Clarksville TN that totally rival this one.The first floor is nice for toddlers and the second floor for 3 and 4 year olds but as the child gets older the museum becomes boring because it doesnt capture and stretch their imagination. If you dont beliece me you try it. There is great room for growth. Also it needs to be brightened up.
I give it 3 stars only because it should be called Childrens Histroy Museum. I dont believe the creators have ever been to a Childrens Museum before. Its very limited in skills learning, but thrives in the historical learning.
This museum is more like a field trip for younger children.. very hands on as (pretend dress up, fake food, and a village) was okay not terrible but not the best.
Small, underwhelming, not much to keep a 3 year olds attention. Too many rules like “be quiet”. It’s a history museum geared towards children yes, but a far cry from any children’s museum I’ve ever been to.
