It was an unforgettable experience. In that place you will find many beautiful sea shells, you also differentiate animals and enjoy nature. nothing better than a beach to relax in these times of corona virus and enjoy a beautiful landscape while having a drink. the sound of water while you sleep in the sand. You feel the wind touch your skin and the sweat on your body makes the sand stick to you, the children play happily in the sand, they make castles and they urinate in the water without using diapers, thats right. the simple things in life that are still enjoyed without having to pay. since the world has turned from that, the one who has money is the powerful one and buys everything even a friendship!

One of the best places to visit along Pensacola beaches. It does cost to get in but is worth it. There is swimming on both sides of the island so you can swim in the gulf side or in the calm water. The fort is great to visit and there is a fishing peer. Also, old military Batteries that are fun to explore. Its not crowded and has the feeling of a quite, almost private, playground.

A huge home for dolphins, birds and fish. When birds fly south for the winter, many found a nice home at Fort Pickens, 280 different species of birds have been spotted here. There is also a 5.2 mile walking trail at the fort.

Love Fort Pickens. I have been coming here for years and always see something new on every trip. The best thing to do is take a bike or scooter, park somewhere and just ride around. Entrance fee is now $20, but its good for 7 days. If you are local, its best to spring for the $40 annual pass. Its good for a year from whenever you buy it. In the summer when Casino Beach is packed, its best to just come out to Fort Pickens

B2 is great! Two weeks and secluded and quiet. Bathrooms were always dirty and one dish center was a serious walk. Loved being at the beach, just half mile in any direction.

Good place to take the family to get always from the crowded beaches. The Fort is fun for kids and adult as there is a lot to look at. Bathrooms and showers need to be updated especially near the point. It’s a $20 entry fee for 6 days...If you plan to go back within a year, just get the annual pass for $40. Park is clean and so are the beaches. Do NOT speed, you will get a ticket and two there are kids playing.

Untouched reserve. I tried not doing a review for sometime (4 years), but its starting to get crowded. Best beaches in this area in my opinion, if you go far enough you can have real privacy. White sands, sharks and wild life, option of life guards and historic fort.

The beach was beautiful. The fort itself was pretty but not all that exciting. However this would be worth the $20 to go use the more private beaches!

Really cool place for families, you can walk around the remains of the fort and they have signs with historical information and cannons still on top of the fort. Lots of fire ants when you walk around the fort though so bring spray or wear enclosed shoes! Beaches are beautiful on the bay side and ocean side. There is camping here and water bottle filling station by the fort but not many more amenities.

Just keep driving and you will find this place. Some times there is a gaurd and you have to pay $10 but its good for a week. There is a lot less people at these beaches too. Lots to explore and see. It was a military base at one time. If you like military stuff you need to visit the Aviation Museum thats about 30 mins or so from here.

We came down to Pensacola for a week and we just so happened to come here the first evening and bought a 7 day pass for 20$. It was well worth it. We are on day 6 and each day we have spent an hour or 2 here and its been well worth it!! The beaches are less crowded and the Fort was definitely fun for our adventurous daughter!! Lots and lots to do and see!!!!

Nice beach and the place to go on holiday weekends. Most people would rather go to the free beaches so this one is a little bit less crowded. The water isnt as clear as some areas around it but water does get relatively deep fast which allows for good wave breaks and swimming.

The Fort was a Spectacular Ruin, first built in 1834 for coastal defense. With each new conflict, the guns were upgraded and people stood watch around the clock, for attacks, that never came. The Fort still overlooks Pensacola Bay and placards tell the amazing stories of the guns and the people who spent years of their lives guarding the Bay and this beautiful stretch of coastline !!! The big twelve inch guns were said to be able to fire projectiles, as far as seventeen miles out to sea. This may have been what kept German U-Boats away, as none were ever detected during WWII, in spite of being active in the Gulf.

Beautiful area to explore, either on land or by boat. If visiting by car/foot, getting from Fort Pickens National Park to Johnsons Beach National Park is about a 45-minute drive one way, despite being part of the same National Seashore complex. The protected sound side offers excellent fishing, bird watching, and kayaking opportunities, while the Gulf side features pure white sand beaches and crystal emerald colored water. Fort McCree on Johnsons Beach (across from Fort Pickens) is only accessible via boating or 10-mile hike on sand.
