Very peaceful walk on a boardwalk which was great for being elevated to see many things and also keeping the kids on the trail. We really enjoyed it! Only negative is that its basically walk in and back out. Would have been better if it looped but still a great place to visit close to town.
Wednesday 7/1/20A elevated boardwalk taking you through the wetlands / woods. Saw some wildlife. There are several legs, two short excursions and one longer. The boardwalk has railing to keep you on the trail. The entrance is well marked with ample parking. There is a short gravel trail leading to the boardwalk. To the left are the shorter walks, to the right is the longer walk. The is a wastewater treatment plant nearby. There is piping along some of the boardwalk that discharges treated water. (AKA reclaimed water) There is a large holding pond the trail goes around. There is a valve along the path that emits some odor but no foul odors otherwise. Overall a nice trail to walk or run.
Loved this trail. Kids enjoyed it.. Liked the placement of benches for rest.. Wish there were trash bins available through the walk.. Cant go wrong with a nature walk settle breeze and the peacefulness of just being away from all the noise and people.. Will be keeping this on our list of trails traveled and return.
The trail is very clean and about a mile long in each direction on the boardwalk. The entrance of the trail on Fayal drive has a rock pathway about a tenth of a mile long. Depending on the time of year you go, the board walk can be slippery. Its a very quite and calm walk all the way through. There are plenty of different trees and foliage to enjoy. The only downside to the boardwalk is that there are some warped old boards that have screws sticking out of them.
I give it 5 stars because it is exactly what the website says. Its a nice walk on boardwalk surrounded by trees and sounds of running water. A total of 3 mile walk through wetlands, plenty of places to just sit and relax.
Got stung like 5x by hornet / yellow jacket / wasp! This was during my leisure walk at 9amPark is located right next to an ECUA waste management facility so occasionally you will smell a disgusting odor.Lots of flies / insects buzzing around your hair near the parking lot. This is a great place to jog / walk and explore the nature scenery that Pensacola has to offer. The actual board walk is 1.5 mile one way. I just wish I didn’t get stung.
A beautiful, peaceful and partially shaded dog-walking trail/boardwalk.
This makes for a nice, easy walk through trees and marsh almost completely on boardwalk. It was a bit slippery on occasion as the boardwalk was wet from rain the night before. I would guess its about 1.5 miles to the end and then you have to turn around and go back the same way. There were some offshoots but they also dead end. There were LOTS of birds! Hard to believe someone said they didnt see one bird here!! It is wheelchair accessible from one of the two entrances but NOT the one by the sanitation plant.Be aware - There were NO pottys!! So if you have kids, or a small bladder, there is no place to relieve yourself! Maybe there is in the summer, when its busier though.Overall, nice, dog friendly, walk if you want a change of pace from the beaches.
We stopped by here to take a walk and maybe see some birds but it turned out to be a little early in the season. We did though enjoy the boardwalk over the bayou it was completely elevated and we were looking for alligators. We got in a nice walk the phone told me we walked jus a little over 3 miles.
No birds or anything really. Just go to a back yard. Lol.
Nice board walk path. But no one has mentioned it’s next to the water reclaiming facility. The smell is overwhelming till you get about 1/2 mile in. If you have a weak stomach you might want to pass on this trial
A nice place to walk & look at nature, with a little distance. The trail is an amazing, elevated boardwalk. You can see birds, if you pay attention. Pensacola is part of a migration path, so we do get some beautiful species pass through. You also see spiders-- LOTS AND LOTS of spiders. The walk is peaceful & a pretty great way to relax: trees, water, wildlife, insects. Did I not mention insects? Spiders gotta eat.
Great little known hiking trail. Love this west side gem
We love the place! Great place for walking dogs and watching birds! Be careful not to walk in the middle of the day (there’s not much shade). The waste treatment facility is nearby so sometimes it smells a little rough too.
Nice 1.5 mile boardwalk that dead ends and you have to walk back 1.5 miles. Too bad its next to sewage treament - its a little stinky at the beginning.
I like this place, its nice to have in the community, but it sad that people bring their dogs or whoever that doesnt care about others stepping on their dogs wastes, everyone shall clean up their own animals waste. show some some respect for the place and others.
Nice place for a walk. I was in town on business and was hoping to spend an afternoon photographing local wildlife and birds. Didnt see one single bird, not even a sparrow. Did see a water moccasin and a snapping turtle, but that was it.
The trail smells like waste water. You can see the same animals walking around anywhere in the woods.
Its a nice place to walk in February.
Great hike with lots of trees and birds. An easy trail and boardwalk. There are seats along the way to relax and enjoy nature.
Great trail. Use caution after rain, boardwalk becomes slick as ice. Needs to be pressure washed. Great place to see wildlife.
As always its always fun to go out and walk this Trail its a race Trail so you dont have to worry about getting your feet wet or dirty theres so much to see as far as plant life and animals theres also three geocaches on the trail soon to be more all are very well maintained and our favorites of the community it is pretty amazing how quiet it is on the trail considering how close you are to the busy roads near by its definitely a great place to eat lunch read a book or just enjoy nature
All I can say is wow. What a nice and beautiful place to hold a wedding. The food was outstanding and plenty of room to get out and bust your best dance moves. With a full bar you cant go wrong
Full of sun! Enjoyable walk when remembering your hats & water!
Good place to jog in nature, just under a 5k, bring a hat as its full sun mostly
Another great Walking park great place to observe nature beautiful beautiful birds Hallelujah praise the Lord
Hardly anyone ever walks out here. Great place to clear your head. Maybe even see some cool wildlife
Nice place to relax and walk around.
Nice little trail, very peaceful and a little over 5k depending on how you run or walk it.
Very nice
Just a boardwalk, more of an observatory of a treatment plant, smells bad too
There need to be a few repairs and maybe a little more shady covers on hot days, but other than that, I love this place! Pretty secluded and I always see some type of cool nature out there.
No birds seen in January. Nice boardwalk, but a little slick in areas.
Very nice trail. Easy access.
A great outdoor trail/boardwalk to stroll along and see an assortment of birds and other wildlife. Not recommended to wear sandals or flip flops nor is it recommended to try to take strollers. If you enjoy birding and seeing different species this is a great place to visit.
Great place for a walk with family,
Its a beautiful nature trail wood plank right off Blue Angel Parkway.
Nice walk. Some boards need serious remediation.
Well done good place to walk run with dogs
Its really nice, people should use it more
The...aroma...can be bad...water reclamation location. Nice walk way though with lovely nature.
Pretty trail, easy to walk.
Nice place to walk or jog without traffic and occasionally you do see some Wildlife some cranes and snakes moccasins and definitely Birds squirrels enjoy it
Nice quite walking path
Lovely sanctuary for some beautiful animals.
Great place to unwind and clear your mind
Had a fun time. Very pleasant.
Seems like a nice place, if currently in a bit of disrepair.Almost all the screw on the boardwalk were loose and sticking up a good ways.Several areas looked to have been vandalized and nature is trying to reclaim others.Speaking of nature, I did see some turtles and snakes in the water spilloff areas.Too bad there is no water for the humans.
Nice boardwalk nature trail.
Lots of walking paths, a fun birdwatching tower, and youre pretty much undisturbed by others.
Tons of bugs and didnt see a single bird. Might be better during winter.
Peaceful and quiet
Awesome place to walk they even have benches if you get tired
Awesome trail. Great family fun
I really enjoyed my visit here, but lots of mosquitoes!
Awesome place to catch pokemon, although only had 2 pokestops.
