Wednesday 7/1/20A simple little park with 2 cannons, benches and lots of plaques. A quick stop to read about the local history. Area is clean and well kept. I was able to park in front of the fort but on a busy day you might have to park across the street or around the block.
Free admissionNo parking. Visitors have to park on the street or across the street. The Fort is so small that my visit was only 10 minutes. So I parked on the side of the residential street.Open 24 hours a dayPet friendlyQuiteTwo benches to sit, a trash can to throw trash or pet dropping’sThere is no wheelchair access. This was a really neat place! We just happened to see it as we were traveling through the area. The only down side was parking. We circled the block three times and finally parked on the street since we werent sure where to park. But extremely interesting!
Its a minimal exhibit dating from the 1970s of a revolutionary war-era fort that gives some idea of how it was constructed back in the 1770s and some idea of the lay of the land. This a complicated subject considering Florida was not a state or colony at the time of the revolution. and there was involvement by Spain Britain colonist local native tribes and even some slaves throughout the revolutionary war 1812 war period. Hopefully Iocal historians will add an audio track and walking tour to supplement the signage while at the site. It could be broadcast via a local small FM signal like at a home sale or Bluetooth. This site is nothing that you want to make a special trip for unless it happens to be a project of yours but its a nice little spot to stop by along the road. I recommend stopping by on a Saturday when the Farmers market is being held about three blocks away.
This was a great place to battle Mewtwo and take home a five star victory.Basically, a large group of people gathered at different times and battled on their electronic devices a legendary Pokemon. This location is a Pokemon Gym.
Pensacola is a Bible capital of the world beautiful place to live and retire
Sort of hidden historical site with really interesting history.
A historical landmark that has been the resting place for myself and others, during the gleaming sunshine and quiet calm nights, thirsty for a break as I recall.
Not a fort. It is a patch of land in the middle of a split road and it has canons and a monument. It is historically interesting, situated at ahigh point and surrounded by Magnolia trees and historic houses.
Sm. and a bit of a challenge to get their and park, but there is a magnificent tree there with low hanging branches! that would be great for taking pictures lying on a blanket...
Love the lil history lesson
I been by this site many times and didnt know it existed. I really appreciated the several old trees on the site and how well kept the grounds were.
Its more a monument than a fort. Part of a residential city block, with a couple placards describing the site.
Learning some history
Beautiful
Dont expect much but a few plaques explaining the Pensacola war
Beautiful views very interesting
