Love the prices. HOWEVER. if you are a big person. You cant use the seats in theater 6. Im 220lbs and 5 ft 3. Barely fit. My boyfriend is 6ft 3in and 425 lbs. And he has to stand for the whole movie. We asked for a folding chair and they dont have them. If you have wide hips you are Not gonna fit. Even at his prime when he had 6 pack abs he wouldnt fit. And they dont have alternative seating.
Fun place to visit on my day off & u cant beat the price.
One of my favorite places to go in Omaha! Yes, most of their movies Ive already streamed but, its about the experience of going to the movies. Its just slightly more expensive than streaming but, I can watch movies I like on a large screen. Even a large screen TV doesnt come close. Thanks for re-opening Westwood 8.
Movies in the age of corona-Westwood, by far the safest public gathering spot and as a second run theater the prices are 3.25 evenings 2.dollars all day tuesday. Westwood offers the full movie theater experience we all grew up with and unlike most other theaters you can drive by the front door and see exactly whats playing and when. Westwood is also great for families on a budget and families in general as they offer g-rated and chid oriented movies all the time. One of Omahas hidden gems its up to us to keep it going for generations to come-so go out and see a movie with your friends and family.
Really like the place. I went to watch a movie that I missed in its initial run in theaters. Super cheap admission. Popcorn was great and they have self butter pumps and salt station. Bathrooms were presentable and smelled good. Seats were decent. Picture was great as well as the sound. Ill be returning. One of the things I liked best is you are supporting a local business instead of a corporate location. I actually talked to an owner a very nice older lady that was kind and accommodating. People complain about the theater being outdated.. its kind of ridiculous. A place doesnt have to be new construction to be worth visiting. I actually find that it ads to the charm of this place.
Its a movie theater time machine. Love the popcorn. Not usually very busy.
Good old-school theater. A great value for the price. Popcorn is tasty, too.
I enjoy this theater. It shows movies that are new but not brand new releases at a discounted price. The snacks dont cost an arm and leg either. The interiors have not been updated since, I believe, the late 80s or early 90s, but thats, part of what I like. The fancy lights were really spectacular back in the day, and has been kept up well. The staff are friendly too.
Best place to see that movie you missed at the theater that you cant wait until it comes out on Redbox. Old and tired but great pinball machines and always fresh popcorn. Feels like it could use a deep cleaning for sure. Several of the seats were too old to sit in comfortably and I had to check a few different ones to find one that I liked. I do like the cheap ticket prices.
Low cost movies. Retro feel. Locally owned. Friendly staff. Definitely recommend.
Arrived at this theater with a personal water bottle and was not allowed to enter. Even with an empty bottle. I understand no outside food and beverages but not allowing customers to bring something and use the water fountain to get water seems extreme. We take our own water bottles to many theaters in the city and have never been prevented from entering. Empty water bottles are even allowed at Husker games.
It is a good place to go if you want to watch new movies in the theater but not have to pay outrageous prices. Good snacks. Good movies.
Seek and ye shall find. Cash only but the ATM had an option for $30
Let me start off by saying that I have been a 1st grade teacher for 5 years now. I went to go watch my movie and the lady had to search my bag. Mind you its a small crossbody bag. She immediately turned me away and told me to go leave my snacks in my car. I had a singular packet of laffy taffys. I did as told... only to come back in line in front of some white teenage girl who had THE EXACT SAME BAG. She didnt get searched..... racial profiling is not acceptable!!!
Movie Judy Was, good. Going in and out of stadium was VERY hard to see because they just use awful low light. Felt very Unsafe going in an coming out. Most of the other PEOPLE there were older and i wonder they felt. They need to put on the overhead lighting. Probably will be s long time before i go back for that reason only
Sure its outdated (or retro? Maybe both) inside, but its relatively clean and you cant beat the prices. The staff are friendly and its great to have the chance to catch movies you missed in the regular theaters.
Excellent place. Its a discount theater, $2.50 admission on Tuesdays and I think $3.25 other days, for good movies that have just stopped showing in normal theaters. Great for people who dont pay attention to when things come out. Found it because I hadnt watched Crazy Rich Asians before it went out of theaters.Instead of going and seeing a movie immediately when it comes out, go see it like a month later here at a quarter of the price!
Not a bad place. We spent 17.00 bucks for movie and snacks. Only one pain in the butt problem. Cash only. Nobody carries cash anymore.
Prices are great. Seats not overly comfortable. They do need to indicate there is only one register you can buy tickets at so you dont have to wait in line twice.
Kinda an old theater. The place didnt seem too clean but maybe they just had a hard day. Seating not very comfortable but not horrible either. They do have more reasonable prices on concessions than most places and they do play movies.
Nice staff fun theatres and its truly nice to see movies I missed the first time, plus seeing movies again after theyre out of most every other theatre is neat-o!
Reasonable prices for a movie. Not exactly a modern, beautiful theater, but its fine considering its age and being on its last legs.
New(er) seats. I dont have a thick hind end, but darned if I barely fit in the seat. Certainly couldnt move once seated. Still the movie only cost $3 so I cant complain.
Air conditioning wasnt working in parts of the building and Theater 2 had a strong, musty smell.Other than that, the place is decent for a budget movie theater. Mens restroom appeared clean, there wasnt a lot of popcorn and food on the theater floor and the lobby was decent too.I took 3 kids to the movies and we shared a large popcorn and drink (with a refill!) for $20 total. The price alone is worth 3 stars of happiness!Would upgrade to four stars if the smell was gone and A/C was working.
So... This is not the most modern or nicest theater. The movies are not the newest released. But, it is quite inexpensive to bring the family to see a movie in the theater experience. Not probably a theater to take a date you want to impress (unless frugality is what you are trying to show)... But good for the family. The kids really like the lights in the theater hall that have the feel of a starship.
Don’t look closely at the cool tunnel, scuzzy as can be. Dirty food hand and finger prints that look accumulated over a loooong time. Doesn’t look or smell like the place has been cleaned in 40 years. The doors to each theater have a film to them where they are frequently touched and it’s literally just dirty hand prints.
Cozy little place. Comfy chairs. Big adequate screens. Do go and enjoy!
Always great workers here. Nothing like good service. Concession moves fast and looks clean. Bathrooms also very clean. Inside theater is very nostalgic and cool. Hallway sometimes smells some, but a good carpet clean could fix that. I like going here more than the large pricey theatres. People call it dollar movies. It is $3 each person. You can’t find anywhere that affordable. I hope nothing changes. It is a great place and many helpful friendly employees.
Such an amazing place and such reasonable prices!
This is a nice theater, very clean and great service. Its a good place to take young children for a matinee, as it only cost us 2.50 a piece. You never know if the little kids will sit through a whole movie so youre not out too much if they dont. Concessions were pretty standard and they are a cash only place.
Definitely better than Marcus Theaters! The set up here is nostalgic and admission, snacks, and gameplays are cheap! It reminds me of my hometowns movie theater, Vision II! I reccomend anyone wanting a good movie or even a movie date come here! I love the set-up and they have a massage chair for use for just $1!!!
Always great staff, service & best value for entertainment in town!!
My mom went here and I started to love it too and it even had arcade games and stuff free refills
I have a more sentimental attachment to this place since Ive been going here since I was little - I saw Disneys Jungle Book (animated) as a little girl here. The place is older since I havent been 7 for a long long time but by no means is it run down and sad. It smells of popcorn and old carpet but evokes good memories - not like the former Dundee theater which was definitely moldy. The seats are a little narrow but still fit larger tushes, the only complaint is that its harder to snuggle with your sweetheart since the arms dont raise up. Thats the only thing big theaters like AMC have over this place. Also its CASH ONLY for admission and concessions. You will need to hit an ATM or stop by the bank. They dont take checks or cards. No matter because the prices are cheap since they play movies are no longer in the bigger corporate theaters. They save money not having to pay big fees for a credit card machine and bounced checks. They pass those savings onto you, The Consumer. There is no reserved seating, no labyrinthine rewards program, no online ticket ordering. No matter. This theater is how it was done back in the day. You walk up to the window, buy your tix and walk in.This theater is ideal for people who want to save money but still want to go to a large screen. If you have a large family you will not spend a small fortune to get in. Its especially good because they seem to always have a kids movie playing so its great for parents on a budget. Popcorn and soda is reasonably priced compared to Big Theater. Best to skip in any case but if you must then Westwood prices wont make you feel like a fool. (I mean seriously, $20 for popcorn and a pop at those big corp theaters? Get outta here)They also have video games in the lobby and some seating for the weary parent or the grands. The bathrooms are always clean and well lit. The fixtures are older but spotless and well maintained and best of all : work. The owners have really taken pride in this place so please come here. Omaha really needs places that have color and although its mom and pop this place definitely pops.
A fantastic remnant of what theatre going used to be like, before the plush seats and skyrocketing prices, when arcade machines still garnished the lobby. If you want a movie experience for under $10.00 WITH popcorn, this is the place. Cool lighting and opulent doors beckon you to escape to a new cinematic experience. Its the kind of place the kid from Last Action Hero would spend all of his time if he was real(woah meta). The seats arent built for rotund bums though, be aware.
Instant blast of nostalgia! This felt like you stepped back into the 80s, both the decor and prices! However for a budget theater the quality of service and cleanliness was every bit as good as a high end theater.
The movies we wanted to see were playing there and they were inexpensive
You get admission and a large water for $4.50 for an 8:30pm show. Place is exactly like the theaters I grew up going to. Very nostalgic and the seats don’t recline but they are the last modern seats before all the new ones were installed at the larger theaters.
It alright for a dollar movie place.. They have one theater area though that the seats must have been built for elementary school kids because the chairs are soooooo small! The other screen areas dont seem to have that problem though..
Been going here all my life. Absolute treasure, quality ticket price decent facilities. Its definitely a time capsule that should be protected. If it closes this grown man will cry.
Love the decor. Reminds me of going to the movies when I was kid. Seats are not the most comfortable but you cant beat the price, the atmosphere and the great staff
The older gentleman we got tickets from was very rude and almost made us leave. I come here at least 1 or 2 times a month and never had that happen before. Had this been my first visit we would have complained to management and left. I would suggest leaving the grumpy guy behind the scenes.
Super cool cheap place to watch movies, not a whole lot of people either and the staff are pretty friendly
Great theater! Well worth the wait for Great prices for new releases movies!! Delicious popcorn with a free refill!!
Its labeled the dollar theater although its a few bucks or more depending on the time of day lol. Shows movies that are kicked outta the main stream theaters, kinda like a second chance theater lol...Its old and dirty.ATM inside.A few arcade games.Cheap.Will go back for sure!!! lolThanks Westwood Cinema!
This theater looked cool on the inside, like the back to the future movies. Good sound and comfy chairs. Prices were good too.
Great staff...It is what it is..wonderful...Will come back!!
I love this theater. Its not pretty and new but the concessions dont require a second mortgage. The movies are second run so reviews are easy to access. This is a family owned business.
Awesome place. A bastion of the old school movie theaters. Cheap. CASH ONLY.Easily the best part is the reasonably priced concessions.
Awesome place to see movies you missed, nice nostalgic feeling of classic older theaters. Tickets and food are cheap but cash only but very much worth it, I will be back... Oh yes I will be back.
Great deal for the price. You wont have stadium seating but you will have great movies at a cheap price and a fun video arcade to pass time before shows.
Always great! Love the decor if the place!
Great place for seeing movies. Price is affordable. Theater is clean.
Cheap and vastly improved since the last visit I took nearly 7 years ago
Not the greatest movie theater, but for $3.25 you get what you pay for. Its reasonably clean with friendly people.
Forgot its cash only. But they do have an ATM.
I dont want to pay full price for a movie. I see one movie a year and its here. Lets not overanalyze this, its a movie theater. Its a good place to see a movie.
It was good the chairs were a little uncomfortable but over lovely experience and great prices
Seems clean. Some of the theatres have seats which are better than others. Everyone is friendly and you cant beat the prices. They also have Tuesday specials. Kids seem to really like all the lights and colors and smaller atmosphere. I dont totally love everything about this place but I would sure hate to see it close. And besides, kids dont know the difference and are just happy for a night out. A very affordable night out.
Very cheap tickets and concessions stand, spacious seating, great staff.
Beautiful place, nice people working, great prices!!
Nice place
I love Westwood Cinema! Me and my 2 boys go there often. Very affordable and they still have arcade games! The staff are all very friendly and the food is tasty I highly recommend this place if youre on a budget but still want to have fun with your family.
Perfect movies on budget bust I still like Aksarben more? Better comfortable seats.
Great matinee price ($2.50 per ticket)! A little dated, (of course) but a fun hallway w/ funky lights plus some fun video games. We had a great time watching Christopher Robin as a family (& we were thankful to do it affordably).
I am very sensitive to sound and I am so glad that theyre not too loud like the other theaters!
Saw A Star is Born at Westwood today. Great price and good seats. When they turn the lights down, most theaters are about the same, so why pay more? Staff very friendly.
This is a great place to see a movie if youre on a budget. My daughter and both went and paid $5 for both our tickets. The facility is dated and hasnt been renovated, but you can still get the movie experience and good sound and picture quality at an affordable price.
This is an antique, but it is so nostalgic and the prices are reasonable. Well go often.
This is a smaller less expensive theater without all the amenities. The movies come later but the popcorn is good and they refill the large once. It is always clean and the service quick and pleasant.I can go and spend 1/2 of what it costs at the other theaters. Tickets $3.00. Popcorn $6.50 for a large. All for under $10.00!!!!
Going downhill. It was dirty and smelly. Very disappointed.
It is a great place to watch a movie for a really low price instead of buying 20 dollar tickets for a movie
Staff polite and professional. Prices unbeatable. Funky retro atmosphere. Restroom doors, walls and floor need a good cleaning.
Some of the seating is questionable. They keep it dark enough that you cant see anything. But i love this place, been going there for years. Great arcade!
Didnt know they only took cash. Once that was handled, enjoyed movie very much. Popcorn was great.
Very nice place to go and relax to watch a movie and great staff
Love it. Best nachos in town!! Family owned and operated.
If you can do without the perks, want to spend less & still enjoy the theater experience, then this is a good choice!
Smelled like piss but somehow added to the charm. 3 stars
Cheap place to see movie. Concessions stand prices are average. Seats are much nicer than they used to be.
Excellent place. Not the fancy chairs and food served in your seat - instead reasonably priced tickets ($3.50), kind people taking tickets and showing you to your seat, and a fun Fiday night.
Excellent cinema watching experience for the price. The theaters are clean and comfortable. Concessions are affordable as well. Enjoy watching a movie here every now and then. Definitely recommend.
Just because its a dollar show doesnt mean it has to look like Cinema Center. Please do something to shine up the lighting and update the chairs. The carpet needs a major upgrade.
Loved this cute little theater. Definitely will go back!
I love this theater. Its just as clean as any other theater. The best pricing in town. The games in the lobby are lots of fun.
I really like this place its cheap but yet still a nice theater
I love this place. Cheap tickets nostalgic atmosphere
We had a great evening out. Affordable fun for a large family that cant always afford to go to the newest movie theatres. Daughter loved the comfy rocking chairs. Thought the new updated bathrooms were great! Nice service and smiles from everyone.
Good prices frendly employees
Movies are a little past their normal theatre dates, but you really cant beat the price. Maintenance has picked up in the last year or so, and the place is looking better than it has in a while. Usually a wide selection of adult/teen speed movies and one or two child-friendly flicks.
Favorite movie theatre by far! The ticket and concession prices are insanely good- you should NOT spend $50+ to see a movie, and you won’t here. It’s funky and retro inside! And yeah, the seats aren’t red leather reclining chairs, but I’d prefer all the other perks of this theatre to expensive designated seating. Especially when I have to pay for a seat that my 4 year old sits in for about 30 minutes total at all these other cinemas.
It was a total blast from the past!! My son and i loved it and will definitely be going back!!
Nice family theater. Price is great and movie selection good. Remember it us cash only, but an ATM is in the lobby.
Omahas best kept secret.
Best value, and inexpensive date night trying to save money
Its a great and very economical. Talk about a cheap date!
This is a cheap seats theater. It is very good for the price! Concessions are a little high but not much more than usual.
Nice place for kids. Cheap prices but the seats are a little bit uncomfortable for adults.
