Oceanside Harbor Village is located on the south harbor. It has a small but very good selection of dining experiences from Italian, Mexican and classic American; all very good. There is also a boat rental business and is nearby to many hotels/resorts to the east and a fine public beach to the west. Very good way to spend a relaxing day.

Oceanside Harbor Village is the only happening place in town, although there are only TWO activities one can enjoy here: restaurants and the beach. My significant other and I had dinner and then we sat on a rock on the beach; as I was bouncing her on my knees as we were watching the moonlit waves crash on the sand, I said to her: hey, this is pretty romantic, to which she replied not really, its pretty windy and there is no one else around, which was true; so then I told her: well, I just moved here from Arizona, so to me this seems pretty nice compared to the dusty desert so thats about it--a few nice restaurants and the beach...

Just stopped by The Broiler on a quick recommend by one of the locals for some calamari. Nice, quaint, people were nice, The Broiler makes some nice dishes, didnt feel overpriced. As for the harbor itself, lots of various activities, and the water looked amazingly clear for such a hot day. If you live inland, and are experiencing temps of 115F or similar, know that today was 119 back home, and the harbor was a cool 80 with a nice breeze.

Pretty cool little hang out with tourist trap restaurants and bars. Besides the skinny sidewalks and not so roomy passages to get to the shops and restaurants, the place is pretty cool to explore for an afternoon. If you have been to Huntington Beach or Laguna and expecting anything similar, you will be disappointed. If you want to find parking during the middle of week and go to the beach and hang out for lunch. This is the place.

There are unique shops and your normal clothing shops at reasonable prices. There are seafood restaurants.. Joes Crab shack is one of them. They also have a boat cruise to experience seeing dolphins and it was really cool. Kinda pricey at $44 for one adult for two hours...I suggest you take Dramamine before attending!

Oceanside Harbor Village has its pros and cons. Sunsets are very beautiful, it’s a good place to do birthdays or get-togethers. They have a variety of different restaurants and shops. There’s also multiple places to take photos if you’re into that sort of thing. There are quite a few officers that patrol of the area. There is a police station over by the Jolly Rogers as well. There’s multiple places to go fishing, you have the little pier in the harbor, you have the two jetties, and then you have your option to do some deep-sea fishing on the charter boats. There used to be a lot of trash in the water, but the city put these basically floating dumpsters in the water which does an awesome job in getting rid of all the floating plastic. In the summertime it’s very very busy. Parking is hard to find, dining usually has a long wait, and you have to always keep your eye on your stuff, because people will take it in a heartbeat. In the wintertime it’s the exact opposite. There’s hardly a crowd, parking is very easy to find and dining is super quick. There are still leaves that will walk around, so always keep your eye on your stuff. For surfing, the harbor is a great place to practice. You have to be careful in the summertime as there are lots of stingrays around… Including jellyfish. Other than that it’s a great place to go for a sunset view or just to hang out.

I have been coming to Oceanside as long as I can remember. I didnt get to visit the harbor too often as a child though. I have been bringing my boys here to walk around, see the creatures in the harbor, and of course browse the shops and get the best icecream around. The harbor is always clean, albeit sandy, and plenty to see or buy. Some stores and restaurants seem to change regularly but I can always count on two places to get dinner and dessert. Fish and chips, and Nanas sweet shop. The two best reasons to make the trip to the harbor.

Actually, she used to work for my grandma as our (my sister and i) babysitter and surf instructor. Now im grown and I help out when im in town. Love the water. I hadnt been in there in close to 10 years i think. It felt great. Perfect weather. So funny story seeing a photo of the harbor. The fiance works all day. He also wears black. Im the opposite. I like black but im more about colors. These random people commented and questioned who wears black in 80° weather?!Well, I dont know if the stranger knows, but some people work and they have a certain dress code and some people dress the way they feel the most comfortable but either way...Place is completely crowded. Parking is close to impossible and if you ever need surf lessons call up Heather Pines. Shes amazing! You will be on your board by the end of your lesson!

Rob and I just got back from Oceanside, California and I gotta say I was a little disappointed. But that could just be because Im from Oceanside and havent been home since I moved here to Arizona, 2 1/2 years ago, and couldnt believe what I was seeing. It used to be the perfect mix of home town and city life. But now,....forget about it! The harbor though is great, always has been, just now its packed full of people and a few of the cool shops closed down and for a small little area there sure are alot of bars/restaurants that took their place. Wasnt the same feel at all when I would just go and hang out, but still had a nice time. Theres clean bathrooms, a cute little gift store thats called, the Harbor Gift Shop, looks like a tiny little barn, a mom and pop ice cream shop family owned and operated, with lots of different flavors and they sell the older candies there too! Theres another shop that sells clothes and hats, then bar, restaurant, bar, bar. bar, restaurant bar, restaurant ....umm ...........BarHahaAt the end is a lighthouse. But dont be fooled its not a real one, and theres only enough room inside for two people and the clerk. Thats it. Seriously. No more room. Haha but I love it,..they have pretty cool things in there. Theres also a, um, what are they called.....? Ya know, those carts that sit in the walkway at the malls,....? Kă - ok something....or Ko,.....KIOSK!!! HA! HA!! Thats also a neat place to check out. Oh and a cafe at the very very end. I think its a cafe. Ive only got coffee there so I cant tell ya if they sell food too. I think they do. And if your wanting some really good sea food, then ya gotta go to Joes Crab Shack,......mmmmm ....so good. Not like how it is in places that dont have fish swimming right outside their establishment, {like here in Arizona. Joe tried, but the dang lizards kept chasing away the catch of the day! Snake! Haha--just kidding}Oh and theres kayaking. Not my cup of tea, but if its yours, have at it. Its the large bodies under the glassy top that makes me NOT want to be in something that looks like a gravy bowl. Dinner is served! HahaNo thanks! The parking isnt that bad, someone is always leaving so the wait for a spot to park isnt that long, and if you do, by chance, have to park a little distance away, the walk is nice.
