Beautiful park and nature walks abound.Disappointed most werent wearing masks but did respect social distance.Go early by 1130 it became very busy
This is a nice park. Is lots of open space hiking/ biking trails. Its family-friendly. I have attended several parties in this and its always been. Its also. Clean and well-kept park.
This is actually quite a nice park, two separate play areas (one slightly bigger than the other) lots of grass, and picnic tables. Plus access to the creek where you can find crawdaddys and if you want to hike westward, youll be at Lake Calavera. The only rub is 90% of parkgoers (adults and children alike) are not observing any mask protocols. Of course, while youre picnicking and eating with your family it is understood that you wont wear your mask, but many children and parents are congregating around the play areas without masks or social distancing. A good thing did seem to be that one play area was full of the maskless, while at the smaller one, adults and children alike were observing the protocols. No one enjoys wearing the masks and im sure were all glad to finally have a playground for the kids to run around in and burn off some of that steam. It would be a shame to go backwards because we couldnt look after our fellow citizens with something as simple as a mask
Awesome park. My first California friend showed me this place. I moved here from Washington and Ive been looking for a solid up and down walking place with lots of flat paths as well. I love the scenery and all the different foliage and seems to not be too heavily trafficked for such a big walking area
Clean park with bathroom, creek access, large grass field, picnic tables, and bbqs with grates. There is also a creek out the back of the park that is flowing year round.
This park has perfect hiking trails, its a beautiful area.
Love this park! You can venture in all directions and find such beauty around every corner. I like this hiking area because its gentle enough for little ones and entertaining for them too. With a stream that flows through the creek after it rains and trees that hang over the trails its such a gorgeous walking area! Theres also giant boulders that you can skid down and trees to climb. For adventurous kids and adults alike this place is awesome! Weve packed many picnics and have enjoyed the day!Theres also a childrens playground that is nice to hang out around when youre all done hiking. There are restrooms are clean too! There are bbqs here and tables too
Nice, although more shaded areas would be nicer.
Beautiful wonderful hike around the lake gorgeous views for photo ops and it feels like I walked about 5 mi
Very nice small park with two playgrounds for kids, picnic tables, and trailhead to some nice hiking. Restrooms are fine but basic.
Great trails and lots of walking options.
Favorite family park. Love the open areas and trails.
This place was a lot better when they allowed mountain bikes. The trails are a bit run down now, but its still fun to hike there, and the kids enjoy the play areas.
Hike it. You will love it.
Nice little park to hang around. It is a small place nice for the local community. I went to the park as a starting point for a hike in Lake Calaveras. Parking is limited
They have two play grounds for babys and bigger kids, very tranquil area to relax
Nice place
We love this park. The little area is perfect for my one and a half year old, but they also have a larger play area for older kids. I definitely recommend going during the week because there is limited parking and it is always very busy on the weeekend. We hike, ride bikes, play on playground, kick the soceer ball around, and look for tadpoles. Usually clean . Lots of dogs and people in trails and everyone very friendly . Lots of beginner and intermediate trails!
Love this place. Great trails. Took my 4 year old and he did the entire hike.
Cute park somewhat small. Wish they would install doggy bag posts because of little messes I notice being left behind. Small playground good community nothing sketchy usually just families or dog walkers.
Nice grassy space, play structures, and trees. Perfect for picnics and fun for the kids.
Very nice park that not hasnt seem to know about. Very limited parking though.
My dad, sister, daughter, and I come here often, beautiful park
Good hike, polite bikers, but beware of dog poo mines.
Nice place to walk
GREAT ATMOSPHERE AND LOVE VISITING THE AREA WHEN NEEDING TO GO OVER PRESENTATIONS, SCREENPLAYS OR TO WRITE. THERES ALWAYS PEACE THERE AND COOL AIR.
Absolutely love this place! I practically grew up here as a young kid. I used to live in the neighborhood across the way very clean and well taken care of.
The absolute best place near Vista for Capture the Flag, whether in the higher field, lower field, forest, etc...Access to the famous rope swing and a great trail going up Calaveres(however its spelled) mountain.
Bathrooms are open but no soap???
I always enjoy taking my Chihuahua to Oak Riparian park. It is so convenient and close to my house and never too busy. My baby dog, Samson, loves going there on my days off with me! He thinks the park belongs to him! LOL!
This park is a diamond in ruff. Its exceptionally well groomed park with clean bathroims and lovely play area. This park also has trails going into The Calaveras Preserve where you can stroll on a walk or get some more difficult challenges and hike.
I have been going to this park for over 15 years and I still find new trails to blaze. Also great for Pokemon Go players
So beautiful and connects to calavera hills!
Playground for the kids, picnic/bbq areas, and bathrooms. Their is a huge grassy field off to the side where you can play ball with the family. You can also find hiking trails that lead to Calavera. A good place to visit. Only negative might be the small parking lot. I went in the middle of the day during the week and had a little bit of trouble finding a parking spot.
I do some Long Runs Here, The trails are Fantastic! 2/1/2020
Fun play structure (uncovered), restrooms, picnic tables, grass. Limited parking.
Great mountain biking trailhead for that side of Calavera Hills Park
Take my kids all the time to play...
Its a nice decent park for young children. However, finding parking is difficult as the park connects to the Calavera trial. Other than that, great place to take your children.
Magnificent! Its truly mind blowing to witness the intertwining and joining of individual oaks to another.
Nice little park. Two good play things with slides and all the sidekicks Well took in care of lawns. Great paths and trails for you and your pets.
Easy hike. great view of dam.
Water Smelled like fart
Great hiking trails very relaxing very hard to get lost
Good family park with hiking trails
Would 5 star it if it didnt have so many ants! Other than that kinda secluded. Has a child 2-5 playground and 6-12 playground. Has good trails that start or pass by there!
Good place for a hike. A lot of trails in this park.
Great small park! Parking is very limited though.
Nice park minus the ants.
Nice
Awesome park adjacent to protected land with miles of trails and a nice lake. Great park for small children in a very nice neighborhood of upper mid class families and very low crime if any to even mention. Safe, well lit and patrolled regularly.
Nice little local park. Kids area. Sports area. Best is access to great trails for hikers, bikers and dog (on-leash walkers, in riparian location. Plenty to explore. Access to lake and top of mt. calavera, an extinct volano plug. Stay on marked trails, respecting reserve sites. Be mindful of snakes. Bring lots of water.
It beautiful park
Nice park. Climbing structure, grass, picnic area. Great natural Creek and entrance to endless trails around Lake Calavera. It does have water, bathrooms and parking.
Family get-togethers are what Oak Riparian Park is all about. We enjoy our hikes among the beautiful oak trees and lush fields of flowers and cactus. The children like the bridge over small creek. We play hide and seek in the tall brush field next to the playground.
Quiet, not a lot of traffic because its a community park. Very nice equipment for all ages. Nice running and bike trail across the creek.
Great place for family picnics or hiking
Great park for hiking!
Love Oak Riparian! Its clean, has big open spaces. The playground is fun and its the trailhead for some fun trails.
Have little early to walking area for an attempt at escaping the everyday crowds.
Clean, good location
Nice park to go with family and friends
Dope spot with water. Bikers are allowed
Good place to recreate.
Great park with cool trail that had awesome long bridges. Trail leads to Calivera.
Decent sized play structure, lots of nearby hiking trails,. Usually not too crowded. Thumbs up
Super nice place to relax
Parking is not great, plan ahead!
Not much parking. I do hikes with my baby, then I let her play on the park. Bathrooms need attention some times. Overall, its good.
Lots of space!
Great hiking trails that connect to Lake Calaveras
Fun little park with a decent playset and plenty of grass for other activities or passing out a blanket. For me, though, the real draw for this park is that it connects to lake Calavera hiking trails. Beautiful oaks on the way to the lake, and then tons of crisscrossing trails at lake Calavera. I did a loop from this park, around the lake, up and over the volcano, and the beach to oak riparian a v and it came out to 3.25 miles. Only bummer is that there are very few parking spots at this park, and the lot is tight for turning around. Otherwise, awesome.
This is a nice park with multiple play sets, a nice sized open grass play area, and there are trails where you can hike, bike, and walk. Parking is not great, but otherwise its a fine park.
Clean Park. Lots of room. You can visit a clean bathroom. BBQ on site provided grills.
Very pretty
Nice clean park, usually quiet with a few entrances to the calavera preserve nearby. Cool little steak runs adjacent to the park heading to the calavera lake.
Nice trails nice views plenty to explore perfect for your dog highly recommended to visit.
Enjoyable Park
Great hiking trails and a well maintained park. I wanted to go stargazing but there is too much light pollution even in this open space.
Beautiful Riparian park with nice hiking trails up to amazing Vista points
Cute little hidden park.
Great little park! There are tails that you can go on that are very close by, also another field area if you want to pay soccer etc.
Very nice and clean park with playground for children of different ages. Several trails are close by.
Great place beautiful!!! Its for the whole family ️
Best place for a morning run.
Fun trails, good environment
Great park. Great trails to run on.
Really good bike trails. Wish that they would clear some of the walking trails a bit because there are snakes in the area, but it has a half court, a playground, picnic tables and bathrooms.
Car park to start a walk to the lake and mountain from, bit of a trek, but worth it. Restrooms and a play area are a bonus.
