The park is kept clean.the restrooms are well kept. There are water fountains, tennis courts, baseball area, childrens play area, not a lot of shade, so be sure to take shade tent.pet friendly, lots of grass for children to run on, play soccer, etc., A nice place to take a early morning walk, or evening walk. I did not see any barbeque sites. So you might have to take your own.
The cleanestthe friendliestthe free-from-homelessto the max park...!!++ the cleanest Mens room possible in a park..No freak loiterers & and I saw only one small piece of graffiti at urinal...Trump 2020Haha no matter how obscene, it was still minimal graffiti, compared to the gross toilets Ive been forced to experience in SanDiego...Luiseño Park was a half hour pleasurebefore the drive back down to San Diego, the junior LA.. ....
Perfect neighborhood park to spend an afternoon! My kids love the big boulders and trees in particular. However, they also meet their sports teams here for extra practice, and for us it’s an alternative to our same old base playgrounds in our neighborhood inside the gate. I personally more than appreciate and think it o fantastic to show them the historical aspects they have maintained and dedicated to the Luiseño peoples. Hidden gems you might miss if you didn’t realize they were there. It’s a dog, bike, walking, sports, party, play, and just all around friendly park! A family was even launching rockets the other day! Big, beautifully maintained fields too for flying kites and playing catch, or getting in some sprints or group training.
Great spot to meet delivery drivers who can not make it onto Camp Pendleton.
Love this park its beautiful, has very small amount of people unless theres a game going on,playground is closed due to covid but its very nice and big to walk around
This park is very clean and active. Great for Pokemon Go as well.
During covid, as with most places, there are those following masking guidelines and those who are not. Please be safe, but definitely check the park out its really nice and well maintained. Animals welcome!
Seems like a great place for families. Im single now and felt a bit out of place, and this is on a weekday morning. If youre single and going to a park for quiet time (like to read) or a solo walk/hike, Guajome Park might be a better place. If youre into history, there are things around here, focusing on local Native Americans, which is where the park gets its name (Luiseño band of Mission Indians).
This place is the best place ever! Im not gonna tell why but ima let you go there!
Great place to have a picnic!
Very clean well lit park, well groomed landscaping, amenities, generally clean facilities.
Feel safe and always around friendly people. My daughter loves the playground and walking our dachshund couldnt agree more. Dog friendly.
Nice not so crowded park. Usually there to walk our dogs. Great playground for the kids. On the small side but plenty of parking, more than adequate restroom facilities. One of the newer parks in the city. Only minus for me is the fast and busy Vandegrift Blvd that borders the NE side of the park.
I love this park it’s definitely one of the best parks in San Diego
Nice and clean also safe
Love this park to walk my dog. He now has a pack he likes walking with. The park provides a poop station which is good, even thou someone doesnt follow the rules. Its a great park for community events and activities. Restroom clean, important, even thou therere homeless living in a canyon not far from the park.
Great park with nice fields and plenty of room for the kids to run around. Play equipment and rocks to climb on with lots of grass. Bathroom facilities are modern and generally clean. Sometimes parking can be a pinch and youll have a little walk. Nice rec center for all.
Nice for making out with Fiance!!
Love this park.
Weve gathered there for many years now and its always been simply enjoyable. The club that organized it is top-notch, they care about showing everyone a good time not just family and friends, acquaintances as well.
Great safe family park .
Usually has ample parking. Public restrooms and the nearby area around them have zero lighting during night time.
This park has with two baseball fields, a tennis court. The womens bathroom is very clean, considering its a park bathroom however the mens bathroom is a little messy.
Despite this being an open area, its really good for family, community get togethers, local sporting events and picnics/bbq cookouts
Great place to work on my dream job and the people
Beautiful clean park. Very serene
Nice clean place to walk your dag
A great neighborhood park with lots of historic artifacts. Nice playground, ball fields and grassy areas. Learn about the history of the Luiseño tribe and have a great time doing it!
Beautiful, very clean
Nice park quiet
Really love this park. Its clean, the grass is nice and green. The play area is clean. They have a section for smaller and a seperate section. For the older kids. Bathrooms are meh.
Small playground but nice and open
Would be nice if they had shaded areas
Great park/softball fields. This park is dog friendly and has a huge playground for young kids.
It is a nice park with plenty of things to do but, parking is limited although there is street parking.
Nice place to take the kids, it has a play ground in the center, 2 baseball diamonds a tennis court and a sidewalk path around the whole park.
I play recreational soccer here every week. Fun, but the turf is really bad
Quite park great for running and pokemon go or harry potter !!
Its open!
Nice park, plenty of parking and public bathrooms. They have multiple baseball fields and a kids playground.
Great park for the children.
Love the park. Walk there almost every day
Big park and awesome playground
Pretty nice softball fields. Big playground. Very dirty bathrooms.
Its a great little park, the kids (5-12 or so) love the playground. It also has 2 softball fields, and tennis court and plenty of space.
Nice park good grassy feild to walk your dog
Ok
Lovely Park, tones of dogs...dog ppl are nice
Really cool park for families to enjoy!
Perfect
Did some fun playing at this park. The climbing sets are nice there are sorry walls and ricks to offer kids areas to build skills. Picnic tables and a baseball diamond area
Heat place to run around. Its well kept and great for parties too. We celebrated my little brothers birthday here with soccer and a taco truck
Very nice park. Played a Pickleball tournament here from Melba Bishop. To warm up I used the walkway around the park.
Went to play at the park. We played, had a good time and came home. Rocks to climb and 2 nice play sets.
My Favorite parl in Oceanside
Best park in Oceanside along with Buchanan Park
I do love this park. My son and I come here often. It has a nice walking trail surrounding it. Its quiet and the people who attend are friendly. The only downside is people throw birthday parties or gatherings on the weekends leaving a mess. And usually stays a little trashy for a bit since people dont like picking up after themselves and dont watch their misbehaved kids. The park shows more and more wear and needs more upkeep. Its definitely best to go during the week.
Nice place for family fun!
This park has two tennis courts, small playground and ample open space. Sometimes you can find a small local baseball game. Great place to take dog and children. There are bathrooms that are always kept clean.
Safe and clean environment for kids and children
Nice park. Playground, 2 tennis courts and great dog walking area.
I only live a mile and a half away and I finally got up here today on my bicycle... Its a nice little Park. But I got to say I only came up to see and utilize the Pokegym and the pokestops! I shall return!
Not much shade but a great, safe park.
Very clean and well maintained park. Friendly people as well.
Big playground, not enclosed. My kids love it.
Nice and clean/relaxing
Enjoyed watching my Marines play softball..Great Facility!!
Yessss I live here
Nice fields. Small play ground. Tennis courts. A loop around the park is about a 1/3 of a mile.
Great park lots of parking and ok bathrooms there is a big playground, baseball field and walking trail no swings though very strange there are no swings.
Great park. Gets busy on the weekends with birthday parties.
Overall nice park, needs some type of gates to keep kids from running into busy vandegrift street. Also the large rocks are too tempting to play on for kids and dangerous. No swings. And not much shade which is ok on a cool day.
Spacious Park for the whole family with joggers path, baseball area, kids play structure, rest rooms, parking space, picnic table with benches.
My kids and I love this park. Its a bit off the beaten path so if you dont know about it or frequent the back gate or Mainside gate to Camp Pendleton you may never know its there. Ive been taking my kids here for probably ten years and its still one of the best and safest parks around. The park is a great size for a neighborhood park with lots or green space for the kids and pets. Two baseball or softball diamonds and a decent playground area for smaller kids up to 10 or so. For adults or your older teens, there is also enclosed tennis court if thats your thing. The only thing that keeps this place from receiving five stars is the inconsistent cleanliness of the bathroom. Some days, theyre clean but most days not so much. Obviously, its a public park so you cant expect them to be spotless but sometimes they are really dirty and not appropriate for small kids.
I love walking this park, great landscaping.
Nice quiet little Park the parkings pretty good lots of spaces and is close to the coast so its very cool Even In the Heat of the summer
I live in the area near this park I am fine it to be ok most of the time. There are alot who use it who are very irresponsible leaving their trash and pet droppings everywhere. I find this very sad. People have no respect for anything anymore.
Cool rocks to climb
Ok
Good vibes
Great for small kids or playing sports or a picnic or party.
N ice clean park.
Beautiful Park and clean restroom
My favorite thing about Luiseno Park is the rock piles all along the path and behind the tennis courts. There is a huge variety of rock sizes that you can climb, jump, and hide behind or around. The playground is great but does not have shade or swings.Weekends its just one big party. It always amazes me how bad it gets trashed. I feel bad for the city workers but they do an amazing job at making it beautiful by Monday late morning or afternoon. It is safe during the day but I am not sure how safe it is a night because I have found tagging of gang symbols on trees, rocks and the playground. You wouldnt know it for the city cleans it up within a week or two. There are 2 ball fields that can double as soccer fields, a couple picnic tables, 2 or 3 built in coal grills for BBQing, and a loop that is wonderful for biking and walking.
History and fun for the kids with an incredible model railroad.
I love the location of this park in proximity to my home. My daughters love to come here also. The Pros:Benches to sit outside to watch your kids play. There are grills if you want to come out and cook, play or just hang out. A plus for birthday partys or summer. There are two baseball diamonds out where there are regular games going on. You can also come out to practice. The Cons:There is no outside lighting by the picnic area or playground . This is a potential threat to people being out here who arent with a crowd of people. Even in the area where the bleachers are located it is not lighted. Once the baseball field lights turn off, the park is pitch black!!The bathrooms look like a scary movie inside. Please BYO soap and sanitizer. Theyre never stocked with tissue and soapOR towels to dry your hands. The garbage cans are also outside of the restrooms. The playground is extremely basic for the amount of space this park has. It is not colorful and there are no swings (at a park) Id suggest that the city add swings and more activities for the children to do to stay busy. Overall, its a nice place to come to- it just needs these things to be rectified.
Its was very dusty, restroom had no soap to wash hands, no toilet covers.
Nice little park for walking dogs and picnics, soccer, baseball too.
Really nice park. Play ground and historical sites. Baseball field.
Fun things for kids to do. Many community events and lots of private parties
No swings but otherwise my favorite park. Lots of grass, good play structure.
Our baby shower will be hosted here at the park so far wonderful day very clean and beautiful day
Newly made park that is very nice, has playground, tennis courts, and a field.
Park is nice size not to busy n very clean
Great for dogs, they have a bathroom and playground and baseball field
Nice park for bbq or kids party.
Its rarely if ever crowded and a good place to bring the kids
For tennis courts
