The beach is quite beautiful, well maintained, and lots of surfers seem to enjoy the waves. Im just disappointed at how many people are not wearing masks. I can understand the surfers not wearing masks while in the water, but those just hanging out on the beach should be more respectful and wear a mask. Im also disappointed at how many dog owners arent cleaning up after their dogs.

Dude, this park is awesome! There are really neat playground structures. Like a big merry-go-round type thing, spinning seats, a cargo net and faux rock wall. The beach is across the street. Definitely a new favorite.

Its perfect, really fine sand. Right across the street from a cafe, park and playground. Its the perfect family spot. My kiddos had a blast.

Really nice beach to take a walk with the entire family or just hang out alone and enjoy the sun. Theres a great lil Cafe in the parking lot and showers to get all the sand off after great day at the beach.

Nice spot to go if youre sightseeing. Its hard to find a spot on beach side. Ducks come ashore in the evening. Parking can be tight and rare to find..

A lovely public park with waking trail along a marshy creek. Park includes grills, a dining area, playground, and basketball court. Parking can be limited on weekends, so arrive early or be prepared to street park.

Went to Buccaneer Beach Park for a play date last week. The park is immaculate! Very clean and well kept. The grassy area is perfect for picnicking, as there are large trees that provide shade.Also great for toddlers to run around. The only thing I would say is that the playground is definitely geared toward older kids, with high places that a toddler could fall from so just be aware of that. It’s also in close vicinity to the beach which is a nice perk.

So this review is obviously subjective, but here it goes...I was here for an NA meeting and there were some very unsavory characters here...not at the NA meeting, just in the general background...after the sun went down this area became a meeting ground for those who still choose a lifestyle of drugs and alcohol... The meeting itself was great and safe in numbers with a light that came on around 7pm under the gazebo... All in all I do not recommend this place for children or families when the sun goes down...the smell of marijuana was prevalent the entire time I was there...but if you need to catch a meeting or want a place to imbibe unhealthy substances this place seems to be neutral ground...

Beautiful sunny day, perfect beach weather. This little beach is a nice Oceanside Secret. Not a crowded beach, but a nice friendly beach, with a nice mix of people. You got your diggers, your Castlers, and the Skin Tanners. If you like to people watch, this is your beach. Its seems the bikini keeps getting smaller each year, so if your looking for a beach that has it all, this would be it. And to top it off, they have a little food shack at the entrance to the beach. Parking lot right at the beach be early and youll have a short one minute walk to the sand. And there are Life Guards at this small beach, which is nice to see. Overall a very clean beach, friendly people and easy parking.

Very nice spot to watch the sunset. My dogs loved rolling in the lawn. Plus sort walk to the beach and out door showers right there across the street from the park. Lovely setting.

Beautiful chill beach to just relax. Rocks are beautiful as a backdrop and lots of space to spread out.

I took a special friend who is like a sister to me she had never been there. Shes a survivor like me. We had a great time stayed all day.

This is the place to just kick it. Its Oceansides best kept secret. If you wanna just be alone or relax quietly with someone this is a small slice of cake just for that. The park across the street is clean and family friendly. It has a small mom and pop place to eat but I believe their only open in the mornings but I could be wrong. I like how they didnt take away or try and make nature work around them but they worked around it. It has pretty little lake that becomes a small channel to the ocean when its high tide, and plenty of large shade trees. There are restrooms there and plenty of quiet and sounds of the ocean rolling on the beach across the street. It sits in between housing so please be respectful of the residents there. One bad apple and we all loose out. The rocks there on the beach, or maybe I should say, boulders, haha, seem to invite photographers from all over. Some taking family pictures while others capture the sunrise. You wont regret stopping here. ;)

One shoed bums passed out in the foliage, people doing the weirdest yoga positions Ive ever seen. (Wasnt sure if I should cover my kids eyes or not). But the small beach across the street was beautiful and there were lots of shells that my kids wanted to fill up the car with.

My kids love this little park and beach is nice if they wanna be at the park we park there than we cross the street and we at the beach doesn’t get better than that they have showers on the street side of the beach and on the park side too restroom can use a little more cleaning and more than 2 stalls they also have a river on the side of the park but the water looks brown not sure where is coming from? But I did see little tiny fish and ducks swimming on it there are a ton of squirrels on the edge of the water I’ve been there a few times and only once it took me about 10 minutes to get parking but other than that it’s good. The sand is glittery and there is a lifeguard shack in One of those entrances to the beach

Beautiful park across from the beach. There are a lot of squirrels that are a bit friendly and are hopping for a Cheeto or crumb. There is a playground and plenty of parking. Theres also a beautiful little trail that follows a stream and walks you to the back of the park where there are more birds and ducks. If you get lucky, these two giant birds that look like giant chickens make and appearance.

Love the playground here! kinda like a ninja warrior obstacle course for kids! Has a basketball court, good patch of grass to play a game of soccer/football! Bring some bread so you and the family can feed the ducks and squirrels that hang out near the river. Also If your lucky you will see parrots !

Always a pleasure!! I grew up going to this beach from the age of 9. My children and grandchildren know of this gem!!

All the tweakers were gone and the park was fairly clean. I saw a large pitbull almost eat a little chihuahua. Body surfing was fun until the tide came up and got my tent wet.Other than that It was a good day.

Not very big. Its a beach for surfing, not great to spend the day at. There are rocks in the shallow surf. And half the beach is covered in water as it flows in and out of the lagoon at high tide. There is a good park and big parking lot behind, however.

The park was dirty and riddled with alcohol bottles and all kinds of other trash tables were filthy and trash cans were overflowing. The bathrooms might as well have been out houses they were so foul I didnt even want my granddaughter using it so I went in to help her to make sure her clothes didnt touch the floor as it was disgusting!!! Went for my grandsons birthday and left knowing well never come back. Also the Merry-Go-Round was taken out and replaced with a very dangerous apparatus. Overall bad experience the park is not being maintained. If youre thinking about taking your family to this park think again this is not a family-friendly Park.

Great for kids. Actual beach right across walkway. Amazing food/coffee shop. Basketball courts, new playground, lots of grass and shady trees to sit under. Recomend out of town visitors to stay at R.V. park thats located between park and Pacific Coast Hwy. Also public walkway to stores and sprinter station thats very close by from park to the street. Parking lot as well cause parking is hard to find. *Helpful tip for parking: go by G&M but on street, then just crossing on foot to walkway.

Buccaneer is the locals beach and park. Has all the activities of bigger parks and beaches but in a more compact area. The cafe is also a nice breakfast/lunch spot.

The river drains straight into the beach right here. People let their little kids play in it which is disgusting because the water is all run off and a bunch have gotten sick. But it is a nice spot to sit and watch the sunset!

It has a fun park with newer playground equipment that older kiddos can enjoy too. It is right across the street from the beach and there is a food spot right in front of it as well.

Right across the street from Buccaneer Beach. Cute squirls are friendly and will run up to you fir a snack. Perfect for a picnic then walk across to the Beach. Its a small Beach strip so yoy may want to come early. Limited parking. Clean bathrooms that had TP.

The play equipment is fun. There is a nice grass area and a walking path around the park. It is across the street from Buccaneer beach. The beach is a rocky beach, good forfinding shells. Its small and doesnt have a big area of sand to sit on or play in.

Awesome ace for a break

This beach is a small but really nice that the park is right across the street. Today it rained a lot and the creek is overflowing into the ocean. The park had a large great area, basketball court, ducks, trees, and the Buccaneer Cafe which is open almost every morning and serves breakfast, smoothies, coffee, and more.

Best locals beach in oside. Usually not crowded, easy parking, family friendly.

The beach park is outstanding. My grandsons enjoyed the playground and the equipment is in good shape. Its a hop and a skip to the beach, loads of fun.

High tide did not disappoint at this little beach. Beautiful views from a safe distance.

Good beach, but too many beachfront homes ruined the beach with their pebbles and boulders. The ocean is rising, this beach is much smaller than I remember as a kid 20 years ago. Too many oceanfront houses have ruined the supplies of sand from the natural erosion process. There wont be a beach here in 15-20 years enjoy it while you can.

Its a tiny park in Oceanside alongside the beach, like, across the street. There is good parking, I imagine for non-peak time. The park itself has a little childrens play area. The picture below is of the beach across the street.

We stopped here for a quick breakfast while passing through town, and it was quite a find! Probably packed in the summer, but today, parking was easy and ample next door, the shack and outdoor tables face the beach and ocean, where we watched the surfers while we ate. Quite a varied menu, and great prices. Everything cooked and prepared fresh. Good smoothie and coffee menu also.

Beautiful park, right next to Ocean with a restored creek estuary, with ducks and other birds, natural habitat vibe! Basketball courts, picnic areas, and a little cafe/coffee stand! A little bit of everything, something for everyone

I worked as a volunteer at the park, it was a rest stop for the MS Bike Bay to Bay 2019 ride. The park is nice, a wonderful little cafe that is very popular with the surfers and walkers. There is wonderful shade from some old trees and a cute little play ground for the kiddos.

Clean and not overly crowded. Police presence made it feel safe and secure. Public bathrooms were clean, but not well stocked. There are ducks to feed which is always fun with the kiddos.

We are loving this beach, not overly crowded and peaceful.

Small but quaint beach...this beach changes quite a bit...this year it was great...no rocks and beach was more sloped instead of multi level. It is close to the RV park we stay at so it is very convenient. There is a beautiful park just across the street from the beach with bathrooms and a coffee cafe for the morning coffee and has a decent size parking lot.We like this beach when we dont feel like traveling to one of the other beaches. Any day at the beach is better than no beach!!!! This one works for us...check out that sunset!

Been here countless times.There is a playground across the way that is perfect for kids of any age.Would recommend coming here, the beach can get pretty busy but that is a given for its perfect location.
