I love Firefly, between the food trucks, the spirits and the hospitality of everyone. One of my absolute favorite places in the Charleston area to visit. I always get an Arnold Palmer with sweet tea whiskey. I very much enjoy the bourbon, and both varieties of whiskey. All the Moonshine has a great taste to it. I recommend the tasting and some drinks to enjoy with friends and family.
Awesome place. After the tour and tasting, I wanted a certain cocktail that they weren’t as familiar with making but they got together all the ingredients and were able to make it for me. Turned out to be the best cocktail I’ve ever had. Amazing customer service. Wish we lived in the area so we could go back! We’d be regular customers.
I live locally and always wanted to visit this place. The drive to the old location made it impractical. Finally made the time this week and I’m glad I did. We took the sample tour and had a great time. The guide was super friendly and informative. Afterwards we stopped at the on site bar and had a yummy cocktail. I can’t recommend a favorite because I enjoyed everything!
Gift shop had great products at reasonable price. Service was great and friendly at tasting. We got six samples for $10. Then we bought 3 bottles each. Location was new and nice, would love to come back for a concert.
I went here today for the first time for a Red Cross blood drive. What an impressive venue! Cant wait to come back and enjoy a concert and some beverages when I build my red cells back up, Haha!
Taste testing is so fun!!!! Shot glass included! Already enjoy Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka. Introduced to Apple Pie Moonshine and Bourbon Ball, among others. Both delicious! Wish the entire Firefly line was more available in the Philly PA area. Hope my next trip to SC will allow me to enjoy the Bourbon Ball again! Nice gift shop! New location from years ago.
Amazing little distillery. self guided tours due to covid, but they have an awesome tasting room with $10 tastings. Everyone was super friendly. They have a giant outdoor space and live music every weekend. If you are in Charleston this is worth a quick detour to experience a micro-distillery.
My new husband and I visited Firefly Distillery on our honeymoon. It was a great trip! The employees are very knowledgeable about their products and also gave great suggestions for the rest of our time in Charleston. Well definitely be going back.
I LOVE the product so much. They’re stuff is phenomenal and the new location is amazing!!!!!! But, the serving staff in the tasting room were very dismissive. I was pretty much ignored when trying to purchase a drink. Our tasting guy was also standoffish.. I love the place and the product but this was a very different experience from when they were at the other location.
This was a great experience! While they werent doing the tours of the distillery, they still did the tastings. Im an alcohol aficionado. Ive never had spirits this good. The lemonade vodka and the mix of apple pie and caramel moonshine were my favorites. They also had live music and food trucks. Id definitely recommend this being on the itinerary if youre in the Myrtle Beach or Charleston area.
The tasting was really cool. Staff was awesome! Really liked the bourbon. They also sell cocktails on site. Very nice outdoor area.
Awesome place to visit. We come everytime we are in the area. New location is beautiful.
Staff was very rude to us when we came in without a reservation. We only wanted to buy a bottle of the sweet tea vodka (my wife drank it a lot when she was younger) & get out. They said we had to do a tour & listen to their history per state law. Ever distillery I have been to in SC has never done this.
What a fabulous distillery- I did a tasting, they also serve cocktails too. We rescued a bottle of coconut cake rum liqueur- delish! But there were several I loved! The sweet tea bourbon- thats right- bourbon! They also have that original sweet tea vodka too! Their swag shop is extensive! I wish I had time to do the tour (but I do know how its made thanks to other distillery tours). We might be popping back in before our trip is up- its that good!
Firefly Distillery is a must go-to when visiting Charleston! Their land is gorgeous and you are welcome to walk all around on your own! The tasting was fantastic & I loved getting to try such an assortment! Must buy some moonshine (I bought peach!) & the chocolate pecan liquer - AMAZE! The staff is very friendly! I hope to come here every time I go to Charleston!
Such a cool spot. The new location looks amazing and everyone is so nice. Mikell and Sara were amazing in pointing us in the right direction and giving us recommendations. Our bartender Nick was so friendly and helpful. We had a great time doing the tasting and having cocktails. They’re dog friendly too which was a huge plus for us. They had a food truck today when we went which was awesome. Great overall experience.
Went to the new distillery last Saturday. Had a great your and tasting. Very nice. Helpful and friendly staff.I was just wondering since yall make blackberry whiskey (which I bought some) and another blackberry flavor which I cant remember, why in the world dont you make blackberry sweet tea vodka? Love your products. So glad that your closer to the house.Everyone should go buy and give them a try. Highly recommend.
Awesome property, lots of opportunity, however when I visited today they did a really poor job of preparing and hosting their event. So much so, I left without even tasting their product and worse, I never even saw it. When I walked up I was impressed by a large outdoor seating area, a food truck and live music playing. We met a lady at the front door who checked our IDs and suggested we do a tasting but we could order single beverages if we wanted. She mentioned she would tell me where to do that, but then never did. I forgot to remind her before going inside. I didnt see any signs or indication of where I could purchase drinks. I walked around the gift shop, and the small self guided tour, then went back out front to get something to eat from the swig and swine food truck. I didnt walk through the hallway leading to the tasting room inside, because the lady out front told me I had to purchase tickets to a tasting. So we went out front, I ordered 2 burgers, beans and potato salad. To my disappointment, they were not serving any drinks. Not even soda or water. So we got our food and couldnt find anywhere to sit and listen to the music as the only tables that were free, were tables with no chairs or benches. Really dont understand the point of that. No drinks and no seating, we decided to go back to the truck to eat and we left. I dont understand why they wouldnt have their product on display, or make sure that guests know exactly where to purchase drinks by signs or better yet, having a bar out front. If the bar was out back, I didnt know how to get there. Additionally, they are hosting this live music event, yet are serving any drinks out front, idk... The whole setup just didnt make sense to me. The final thought which is more about swig and swine, not firefly, but the food wasnt that great. The smoked burger was ok, and the beans were sub par at best. They tasted like campbells chunky beans in a can with 1 or two overcook small pieces of brisket. I didnt finish them. The potatoe salad however, was delicious.Overall, based on this experience I wouldnt go back or recommend this place to anyone.
Love the product. Miss the old location. Good social distancing practices.
The atmosphere was very energetic and serene. Employees were very friendly and offered some great opinions on drinks. However, after purchasing four of the bottles, we found out that not a single one of them was properly sealed and they all leaked on the way home.
Cute place to check out. The tasting was very covid friendly and we ended up buying a few bottles after!
Was a great drive back to the distillery then a wonderful time at all the buildings. Oh yea the samples were great. Sweet tea whiskey. Awesome.
Lori was amazing, great place! If I come to SC again, Im coming back for sure
We had a lot of fun on this tour. The tour includes tastings and a shot glass. All of the samples were very tasty and Chloe the distillery dog came out to greet us. It was a very laid back and relaxed atmosphere.
Very nice place - great tasting room & friendly staff!
Great people and drinks. We went to the spirits side. It was fun trying different drinks, full variety of options, from sweet tea spirits to dessert drinks...so yummy! The price was reasonable, under $10.00, to try 6 types. We left with the lemonade vodka and caramel something moonshine! There isnt a distillery tour though...they are moving to a larger site for that soon. Otherwise...highly recommend for the experience. Also..be sure to check out the cow, rabbit, and chickens. The cow insisted on nuzzling up to my hubby.
Leon during our tasting was patient and friendly. Everything tasted amazing and the place is beautiful!
Super cool new addition to Park Circle! I loved the rustic look inside the distillery! The staff was excellent and very helpful with learning about the distillery and the products offered. I purchased the apple-pie moonshine and the banana pudding moonshine. Both have great flavors and made for some fun new cocktail recipes.
It is a beautiful venue with classic Charleston charm. Was great for events and has a fantastic array of drinks
Their new place is amazing, lots of space for parking and as always the liquor is fantastic. If you have not tried this place your life is not complete.
We went to their new location in North Charleston today. Id been to their original location on Wadmalaw Island, and was afraid their in-town version wouldnt be as cool. Theyve only just opened and got their liquor license, but its still the coolest spirits in town. Joe was our guide/bartender, and did a great job. Just the right mix of fun and informative, and it seemed like we got to taste just about everything we were interested in. We left with six bottles, and smiles on our faces. If you drink at all, dont miss Firefly!
Beautiful location, great live music and fun event to celebrate our countrys birthday today, but I would recommend stopping in anytime.
Came here November 23 with a large group of coworkers and I had an amazing time! The Firefly is amazing distillery with wine, whiskey, and moonshine tastings with food trucks on the premises as well. I paid for the wine and whiskey tastings and it did not disappoint. We were able to keep our tasting glasses which was a plus! I ended up buying 3 bottles (2 Sweet Tea Whiskey and the Blueberry Moonshine) plus a bottle of wine (Symphony). For lunch I ordered the fried shrimp and fish and it was good as well. The weather was nice..drinks and food good. This is definitely a place to add to your list of visits!
The staff are always great.
I love the different flavors of moonshine. Especially the strawberry and apple pie. But just be warned that this is not extremely strong as you think. Theyre 20-30% alcohol/vol. So dont expect anything stronger. They also have moonshine jelly. I havent tasted it yet but Im definitely trying it when I get home. I havent tasted it, but they also have whiskey, bourbon and flavored liqueur for sale. I recommend trying them out.
A great place to hangout with friends. Entrace is a little hard to find so keep your eyes open when driving down the road for the gate. Two types of tasting options including liquor and wine. Plenty of places to sit and relax. Come early because the lines get long. There is no real tour of the distillery just tasting rooms. You can walk around the vineyard and check out a variety of farm animals that they have. An interesting place to check out and popular with bridal showers.
Joe gave Great Service and very personable to all the needs of all the customers. Excellent prices on the products for sale.
Love the new facility! Enjoyed the tour and the tasting room!
Laurie was awesome! Im not a big drinker & she sold me 3 bottles
Excellent tour. Fun tasting. Beautiful new facility. Food trucks. Craft cocktails. Live music. We had a great afternoon with our friends.
A hidden, backwoods gem outside of Charleston. This was a pretty fun day activity where you can try all of Fireflys different concoctions (who knew they had so many!)The staff is super friendly and its really cheap for a 6 different tastings.
Went here with a bachelorette party and had a fabulous time! We had reservations for both tastings which certainly cut down on wait times. The atmosphere is great with a friendly staff, live music and food carts. The liquors were delicious and our pourer Bert the flirt (he earned this nickname) was hilarious. I will have to say that the wines are mediocre but this probably is due to the region they are growing in. But this did not hinder the experience. I would highly recommend this to any friends visiting the Charleston area!
Nice place. Great spirits.
A wonderful scenic local Distillery in the tidelands of Charleston, SC. Located approximately 30 minutes South of West Ashley you can visit Firefly Distillery and enjoy a $6 tasting of several local spirits ranging from the famous Firefly Ice-T to straight up moonshine and bourbon. Outside of The Distillery the grounds are wonderful and offer a small petting zoo, out door kitchen and on our visit local food vendors. They also have local music throughout the year and its highly suggested you visit the website before you visit. On our visit it was surprising to find that the spirits we found best were not available in stores but only at the distillery; it ended up being an expensive visit! I highly suggest that you plan this visit by including the local Winery, Tea Plantation, historical oak tree, and several other local sites to make the most of the trip.
Amazing drinks amazing people good time all around
Nice products. The distillery and winery are tastings only, no actually facility tours. Enjoyed sampling the spirits and the walking the scenic grounds, but would have loved to have an actual look at where its produced. The lines were quite long around early afternoon. Friendly and knowledgable staff.
Too cool way back here in the swamp
New location was great. Open field for concerts and fill bar surface.
Awesome tasting. I will def go again.
Excellent enforcement of social distancing/mask wearing during this unprecedented covid-19 madness.
A new nice place off the beaten path off Spruill Avenue, across from the Codfathers fish and chips. Concerts, booze, food, etc. No tour of the distillery today.
Nice and friendly atmosphere
Great cocktails, music and atmosphere!
Very nice place and friendly helpful associates!
Got to try a few samples during the annual Oyster Roast and fell in love! Unfortunately I couldn’t bring any through the TSA so I couldn’t purchase any, but I am definitely seeking them out in PA. I highly recommend a tasting!
Enjoyed my visit! The winery was so so. However, the distillery had some really good liquor. The staff was pretty friendly and the price for the tastings was very reasonable. The location is beautiful. I took one star off because, there was ONE food truck when I was visiting and the price for the food I think was expensive. ️
One of the best places to visit still
Highly recommended a good distillery
Omg. Love it there !!
Fun tasting, gotta get the Banana Pudding.
We love this place!
VERY COOL!!
Unique and delicious flavors, staff very friendly. Nice atmosphere, dog friendly outside. Had live music.
Walked in really excited to be here. No greeting, ok everyone was busy tending to patrons. Picked out 3 bottles, went to the counter to pay. Young guy comes over...dont get excited, Im just clocking out, female with a bit of a shaved head, no acknowledgement, third employee....30s aged male no acknowledgement. Nothing guys. Shouldve walked out! I guess because we werent buying tiny samples of drinks we werent good enough.
Low country at its best. Fun place, nice people and yummy adult beverages. Favorites include spiced rum, mint vodka and the bourbon.
What a great way to spend an afternoon! They have vendors and events on Saturday’s. The staff are all very friendly and personable. They all make conversation as you taste test. Pet friendly!
This is a fun place off the beaten path. Even the drive there was lovely. We did the liquor tasting. Now Ive seen their brand in stores all the time but never got it, but we got lost and saw their sign and went to take a look and glad we did. They have a line of liquors in southern Classic flavors like pecan pie, coconut cake and banana pudding are only sold locally. Their distillery also sells versions of their spirits like their southern lemonade and mint tea vodka were lovely. Tasting does cost you 6$ but it gets a try of 6 things. They have a self guided tour of the grounds, good food stand, places to lounge and drink wine with friends and friendly staff. Was worth the drive. Probably a good thing their lemonade vodka isnt sold in stores or id buy it by the case. Note: their tea is made from tea leaves from the Charelston tea plantation on the island and they are American made. Great job guys!
The moonshine flavors are great. The price of the tasting is only $6.
We really enjoyed the wine tasting room. Wines were good. The real fun happened over at Firefly tasting. Charlotte was the BEST at serving up the samples, giving us tips & info about their products & on how to mix &/or serve them. This is seriously a place you do NOT want to miss during your visit to the Charleston area.
Helpful staff and delicious drinks!
It is no fun for kids
Excellent
Love their Sweet Tea vodka. Definitely worth the trip.
My husband and I had a great time at Firefly Distilleries. It is such a nice place to visit. It is just down the street from the Tea Company and you can totally do both in one visit. They have a little tour and you can either have the Firefly distillery tour or their wine tour. It is too much alcohol to have both. But they also have a lovely little place to get lunch and then an outdoor place to eat it. Delightful! If you can do this, especially in the same day as the plantation tea company, do so. What a great side trip from the lovely city of Charleston!
The distillery was great. Yummy liquor and bartenders that were very knowledgeable and fun. The Winery was interesting but the wine was too sweet. The wine would be great as a dessert wine or in a sangria but could not stand alone or be pared with a dinner dish. The baby rabbits are cute but will scratch. The courtyard atmosphere was great. It felt like BBQing at a friends house playing corn hole. Great for sobering us before leaving. All in all a great idea!
Parking is a little unstructured, never mind the ridiculous path to get there.$6 for 6 different spirits is good, i personally loved the Java Rum and the strawberry moonshine. the food vendors smelled delicious, i wish i would have had some food. next time i will also try the wine tasting selection. i would go back again during the week so the wait is not as long.
Beautiful setting, but it stops there! Paid to taste about a tablespoon of each of their so so wines. First winery where I paid to taste, but we were supposed to each get a wine glass. Unfortunately (for us) they were out of glasses. Those of our bicycle group who went to the distillery also paid to taste, but, again, they were out of shot glasses. I didnt bite the second time. I didnt taste their distilled beverages. We did think it a curiosity that they were out of glasses at both locations when a bicycle tour group arrived.
Great place to try out different liquors and their wines.
Great gathering spot in the country. Picnic baskets welcome. Theres been a food truck every time Ive been out there. Great food, great drink, and great people. Wonderful environment. I love the animals, especially Ida the miniature Brahma Bull.
Excellent whisky. Very flavorful beyond expectations.
Had a fun time there. Loved the Apple Pie flavor.
Well worth the beautiful drive! Tastings are fun and informative. Try the Southern Lemonade Vodka!
Very nice location.
We visit wineries often and this has been the most enjoyable so far! The ladies in the distillery were friendly and helpful even though it was near closing time. The wine tasting was an enjoyable experience. Firefly has really unique flavors. Thank you Jim for the hospitality!
We had a great experience at the distillery. The staff were inviting, informative and knowledgeable. The tasting was a lot of fun too!
Spent the day touring Charleston events. However, I was disappointed in the Deep Water Winery which is adjacent to Firefly Distillery. This was a special event day for May 5. It was like going to a dog park. The wine tasting was overpriced for what it was. Perhaps Im jaded from going to vineyards in Napa Valley and expecting too much for a South Carolina winery but...$10 for parking and $7 for the uninteresting tasting doesnt make we want to return. I was interested in going to the distillery but opted to leave after the wines. Ive managed special events for many years and was attracted by the ad online, but I wouldnt recommend it.
