This beach is beautiful! The lighthouse is just on the edge and you have to drive to get to it but I recommend parking at the bottom and hiking up, the views are amazing on your way up! The beach is clean and the water is beautiful. The cove area is so cool, you can imagine pirates in the old days hiding amongst the rocks. If I had the chance I would take a ride on a boat out there and check it all out. I also saw a ton of surfing going on so it must be a good place for that.

One of my faves on the Oregon coast. Parking, bathrooms and safe crossing of 101 to sandy beaches with almost no incline to walk, easy for elderly and kids to get to the water. Plenty of picnic grass as well.

Agate beach is one of the best beaches in the area. It has everything,if you are willing to walk, from cliffs and shallow, easy for kids, elevation change. Kris the under tie small. To vast open breach, big dunes, or no dunes (depending on the season), windy towards the south and shelter from the wind at the north. Plenty of room to full kites. There is also 2 tunnels that have great acoustics. One is the walk path under 101 and the other is a path under the frontage rd. Must stop and sing a note if your there. Who knows, maybe there will already be someone making music, waiting for you to join.

This was by far the funnest best beach we went to on our 7 day RV trip down the Pacific Coast, where we went to several beaches. I loved this place. It was so beautiful and fun.

Ive been coming here for over 25 years. Not much has changed in that time. Sand features and driftwood come and go, but things mostly stay the same. Good parking access, adequate restrooms, and near shopping and accommodations.There are less frequented beaches on the Oregon coast, and prettier beaches. Agate beach is good because its easy to get to, interesting, and relatively easy to traverse if you have any disabilities. Its a great all around beach.There are technically leash laws, but most people seem to let their dogs run free and Ive never seen it be a problem. There are poop bags available on the beach and in the parking lots. Motor vehicles arent allowed, so dont bring your dander crawler or ATV here; unless you like disappointment and frustration.

If you want a big, expansive white beach with plenty of parking and nearby the bustling town of Newport, this is your beach. There was actually a wedding going on when I was there. Access to the beach can sometimes be hindered by minor flooding.

Very windy, so our stuff got quite sandy, but great for kite flying! Infact, we saw 3 people with kites. The water was FA REE ZING but still good for swimming. DONT GO WITH A BROKEN LEG!!! OR KNEE INJURY!!! SAND IS VERY DEEP!!! Thats all!

A great beach hidden away just enough that it doesnt feel crowded but has easy beach access. Pro tip: park by side of road closest to the beach if there are spots (much closer than actual parking lot). Good lighthouse views on sunny days.

Have public restrooms. Nice little area right off the highway. You will walk a mile just to get your feet in the water. Lots of dunes to walk thru as well.

Its free but thats why all the homeless people live there. Dont step on a hypodermic needle. The good news is theres free syringes buried in the sands, the bad news is theyre full of hepatitis. And this is the best beach that Newport has to offer how sad!

Very clean nice beach. LONG WALK with lots of dunes to go up and down. Great if youre up for a bit of a hike. Great location to take dogs. Just please leash them. Too many law breakers who let their dogs run wild

This is a great place for families pets or just a solo walk on the beach. Offers great views and picturesque landscapes. Parking is easy and it isnt a long jaunt to the beach. You wont feel crowded here either.

Beautiful beach with unique character. Not a lot of people. Clean water and majestic waves. Do not expect to find any agates though... There are no rocks on this beach at all. Many years ago the beach was covered in beautiful little rocks and agates. None remain.

Agate beach is a fine example of how humans affect the natural environment. These amazing dunes have a high water line filled with micro plastics. I encourage you to visit and collect some of the pieces. Get creative. Imagine it as you would beach glass. Then..maybe use less plastic.

Agate beach was nice. It has Sandy beaches and light waves. We ended up going at low tide hoping to find agate but for a beach named agate beach there were none to be found. You would think a beach named agate beach would have some. A little disappointed.

There are no agates to be had here (I guess they are under several feet of sand?) but its a nice beach to walk on anyway. There are some interesting sand dunes to walk over on the way out, and lots of flat sandy beach to explore. There isnt much to see though, no shells or rocks...

One of our favorite places to start our Newport beach walk. Clean restrooms, plenty of parking. ***if you dont bring your own, grab a dog poo bag to use, then pick up bits of plastic off the beaches for disposal on site after your walk!

Yes the beach that I grew up with. Not changed very much. I just hated this day cause I got stood up for a walk on the beach but I enjoyed the peaceful tranquility and am so glad I did get stood up, it would have ruined my day with myself.

It’s probably weird, but I liked the parking lot and the walk to the beach better than I liked this beach. There is a really cool tunnel you walk through under the road to get to the beach.

The walk was incredible! Sand dunes are very deceiving! Tom excursion for over weight people to cross to the ocean. But once there, EVERY person enjoyed those mighty white caps rolling in!

Loved this beautiful beach as a child and still do today. Parking might be difficult for those walking handicapped as the parking lot is across the road and an underpass gets you from parking to the beach.

I love this beach.

Long walk to the water through some cool dunes. Not an easy walk but worth it, great uncrowded beach.When you walk thru the tunnel from the parking area, stay left on the path to a small bridge over the creek.

Pretty cool beach for the dunes, but not a sign of agates anywhere (lol). My big reason for giving this the rating I did might not be an issue with the state parks but with humans damaging something beautiful. The amount of plastic, especially smaller pieces that are extremely dangerous to animals, was tremendous. Im not much of a hippy-type, but it was disturbing the amount of plastic we pulled off the beach there.

The park was great. Plenty of parking. Picnic tables. Shade. Restrooms. Had a nice picnic there.

This place is beautiful, the weather was perfect. For a a July weekend there was not a huge crowd. The state keep this place clean, plenty of parking. The restrooms were clean. The Park had a a sign posted about not advising swimming due to bacteria in the water but people were swimming anyways, so please read the signs before venturing to the beach.Lots of people had dogs and were very respectful about keeping them on a leash and cleaning up after them. The beach is a nice place to visit and relax.

Agate beach has a large parking lot with restrooms. My kids love the sandunes here!
