On Thursday, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for a new project slated to open in December 2021: a workspace called Makerhoods for local artisans - those who make ceramics, clothing, and food products - where they can reside and run their businesses. The mansion itself will be renovated into a large workspace and offices. A new construction adjacent to the mansion will include 10 commercial shops, a shared commercial and demonstration kitchen, a greenhouse and a courtyard event space. Sixty-six apartments with one to three bedrooms will also be constructed there, including 21 affordable units.

I stared at this place for four years while I attended Arts High. I told people back then that Im gonna own that house. In a few more years, Im going to be able to make an offer. I will restore it to its original grandeur, and Ill offer tea parties with croquet on the lawn.
