Love coming here. Great spots for little swimmers. People floating through are kind. Everyone does their part to keep this area clean. Parts of the water are clear to see to the bottom. Been coming to this not so popular spot for many years. Becomes popular with the summer season.

Beautiful park. Right off the river. Make sure to come early to get good parking. Grilling is only allowed in the pavilion so if your planning on grilling dont bother bringing your grill. Its a new rule they made because of an incident that had happened. But overall very peaceful park especially under the tall trees. Definitely will come back here next time we are in town.

This park is very serene and beautiful, I take my nieces here and there’s a park. The river is right off rocks and definitely could be a nice day for an outing.

My kids and I love this area! Definitely get here early to get a good spot and parking. The only downside (which i get because its nature) is all of the snakes. There were a few water moccasins in our area. But its still a beautiful spot

Summary: lots of parking, great picnic area, super fun play structure.Details: with access to the river, its hard to go wrong here. Theres a small sandy beach but plenty of other places between the large shade trees to enter the water. Bathrooms, with sinks are available near the boat ramp.

Easy access to drop in kayaks and beautiful giant trees lining the river. Current is very light making paddling easy whether going up or down stream. Plenty of places to stop and relax along the bank. My go to kayaking spot.

HIDDEN GEM!!We were driving in from Gruene and ended up here. We went to 2 parks and no luck. We ran in to the nicest park ranger and asked for best kid friendly spot. He recommended Cypress Bend and boy was he right. We were in water in front of playground and bathroom. We had 4 little ones and not once was I worried. Water was at highest chest height where we were. Calm water, clean park, friendly rangers. One thing there are punctual but we didn’t mind. Great spot will definitely be back. New favorite spot.

Fun to bring your kids, did a little bit of fishing and caught some bluegill. Can float or just swim because it is shallow enough for the children and it has deep parts too.

Review №26

OK parking-limited but free, which is rare in this area. Plenty of large trees to produce dense shade in the TX sun but all of the riverfront area is steeply sloped and uncomfortable for spending any length of time. The water current is pretty strong, as it is just past a small falls which the brave kids were riding (there is an area just by the overpass to climb up and give it a try). Lots of people were hanging out under the overpass for shade. Not many easy places to get in the water-be careful with young kids. Even the water near the edges had abit of a current and as a strong swimmer, I only felt confident about knee deep.

One of the best parks in New Braunfels, Im able to keep track of both my children since they like to do different things at once. The scenery is fresh, open, and walking by the creek is a very enjoyable experience.

I adore this park. My impression is that its lesser known than some of the others in the area. Right on the river, and plenty of open grassy space for your furry friends. There are restrooms and a covered picnic area. Be aware, the park does close at night and officers do come down to check that everyone is out (learned that first hand ;))

The park is well planned. The river flows well enough to float on tubes, but not too strong to allow children to keep control. The water usually has shallow water near the banks. A playground and restrooms are nearby. Parking is free and convenient. This is a great place for large gatherings with a large pavilion available to rent through the parks department. There are fields to play ball or just run around. The park is also very close to the well equipped and stocked library.

For a March, Thursday afternoon, I loved this location. First time visiting here, and I enjoyed my time. Fished for Bass, seen some Bass, but no luck. Guess the water temp was still a bit cold for them to be active. My daughters didnt mind though. They had a blast feeding the squirrels and ducks. They ate crackers right from their hands. Friendly little guys. Definitely recommend this to anyone needing a quick escape from the rat race.

This park is the last public exit for the Guadalupe. But, its also a great spot to have a picnic, launch kayaks, and is shallow enough for kids to play in the water. The pavilion and field can be rented for special events too.

My family enjoyed themselves so much! The park was beautiful. The water was cold and somewhat clear and clean except for the occasional beer can popping up from below the clay bottom. Shallow and slow drifting bend in the Guadalupe River. Kayak and tube to your hearts fill. Tall shady Grove of old Cypress trees will keep you from burning to a crisp as you float along.
