Cute cute cute! And perfect play area/size/amount of people. My son is 2 1/2 and was in heaven. I’d say it’s geared towards 6 and under but the bigger kids could easily play with little bit one sand engage in using their imagination. Will definitely return!

The price is very reasonable, and if we lived here, we would get a membership. There are so many fun things to do here. We brought our 3 kids here and there were perfect things for each kid to do. This is a large area with good indoor and outdoor activities. This was our first time here, and we will be back.

Best Playspace for Young Kids (10 and younger).Yeah, this place is fantastic. Its completely designed for imaginative and interactive play as each space is filled with stuff to touch and toys to play with. They have a bank, campsite, NASA, grocery store, and house section for kids to play. Outside there is a water space and large playground with climbing space. I was especially grateful for their toddler section which is perfectly designed for under 3 to play without getting run over by bigger kids. I also think their art section is great but come ready for messy play there.

I took my sister when she was little and now that I have kids I have take them. It’s great they have lots of fun and they learn while playing. One thing I don’t like is that they have the entrance at the gift shop, so kinda difficult if your kids always want something from there. But other than that, it’s good for kids

Im always baffled that Childrens Museums charge admission for adults, but this is unfortunately the norm. The museum is small, but perfect for a couple hours of entertainment for your toddler or preschooler. They have a space area, hospital/ambulance/nursery area, baby area, bank, grocery store, house, tree house, camper/campground, cave, train tables, and covered outdoor area with a large water table, playground, musical instruments, and large foam building blocks. My youngest kids like it, but I have to go while the older kids are in school, because they are bored easily. Its not really fun for anyone 9+.

We used to love the Childrens Museum. Weve had a membership for almost 3 years. But for the last year the sheer volume of field trips almost every morning is unbearable. Were not talking a few classes, its between 4-6 school buses worth of kids! Kids who are screaming and running through the place. Its EVERY TIME we go. We come in the mornings to avoid the big kids who are in school but apparently we cant at the Childrens Museum anymore. Weve been told to call ahead to see if there are field trips that day but I shouldnt have to. There should be designated field trip days so my small children can enjoy the place that I PAY to attend. We will not be renewing our membership. Very disappointing.

It’s a nice place for children to grow up exploring! Great outlet for all the creative energy toddlers have! Paint room is set and ready to go. We could spend an entire day at the extensive train track exhibit. Outdoor climbing & building scapes are fun and challenging! Simple Lunch is served onsite with indoor and outdoor terrace seating. The water play exhibit is a refreshing oasis on hot days! Outdoor exhibits are fully shaded with bench seating for moms & dads to comfortable & closely observe child play.

This place is amazing for young kids. We have had a membership at the Thinkery in Austin for two years but traffic and the sheer business of it stops us from going as often as we would like so we decided to try out McKenna Childrens museum to see if it would be worth the switch. We have a 1.5 & 3 year old and in my opinion this museum takes the Cake for that age range. It has a bigger area for toddlers under 3 than the Thinkery and everything here is definitely geared towards imaginative play which is perfect! For now until our kids are a bit older were making the switch to the McKenna Museum. My only con/warning would be their outdoor water area, the floor is way to slippery and they dont currently have enough slip safe mats out there. Hold your kids hands, even walking slowly my little one biffed it hard.

I travel from San Antonio to bring my 2 year old here all the time! Its such a fun place where toddlers can run around. Weekends can get very busy and sadly they are closed on Sundays. My favorite time to go is around 3pm Mon-Fri. That gives my son 2 hours of uninterrupted play because it is usually very empty. His favorite part is definitely the grocery story. In there he can push around a basket thats perfectly his size. They also have a spaceship, bank, hospital and outside you can find water tables. Make sure to stop by the painting room! You can put an apron on your little one and let them get messy. Also, make sure you bring a change of clothes! If your child is anything like mine they will get soaked playing with the water tables.

My kiddos love coming here! There are plenty of areas to play in so it doesnt feel crowded and they never get bored. The outdoor water play is our favorite. Im taking off one star because adults must pay as well. If you have multiple kids, it would be great to have more than one adult but it comes at a price. However, staff is friendly and they do a great job of keeping things tidy.

The staff is amazing. Everythings clean. I have for three kids, ages 5, 2.5, and an infant, and we never want to leave. The new outside jungle gym is great because theres only one place they could possibly fall from and its not crazy high. Most of the outside area is shaded, too, which is fantastic in Texas. We could come 5 days a week and never be bored. Its well worth the money and the 40 minute drive.

Always so much fun to be had here. My son and I love the kitchen and camping areas, and the little grocery store is fun every time. Always clean, staff is friendly, and the new outdoor play area is great. Sometimes the water play feature works great, and sometimes it seems like there isnt enough water. Even then, everyone is having fun. Love the craft area as well. I take my little dude here everytime were in town. Bathroom could use a teeny bit of TLC more frequently throughout the day, but the facilities are in good working order, and mostly clean.

We are members. My kids love it here. They are always updating and making it better and novel for the kiddos. They frequently host special events of all kinds. My one complaint is the field trips from daycares or summer camps. The people watching the kids are generally very young /teenagers. They arent totally aware of the children at all times, and my kids have had a lot of problems with those group kiddos taking toys, pushing and shoving, and one instance a kid just dumped a bucket of water on my child and ran away laughing. I would request the museum be more stringent with their chaperone to child ratio and behavior expectations.

We brought our boys here on vacation, and the five year old STILL asks to go constantly despite it being hours away. There is so much for kids to do and explore. We spent hours following them around as they went from room to room exploring and touching everything. Their favorite was one of the first areas we visited: the air tube room. They had a blast putting yarn balls and scarves into the tubes and waiting to see where they would fly out. If we ever find ourselves on vacation in the area again, this will be on our itinerary. Probably more than once.

My kids absolutely loved this museum! The art room was my favorite but I think the outdoor water feature and jungle gym was their favorite. Compared to San Antonios Doseum, McKenna seems much better maintained and perhaps even better laid out. The whole thing is designed in a circle around a central baby area with benches for seating.I am knocking this down two stars due to the atmosphere and staff attitude. Even from our orientation I felt like we were intruders and slightly unwelcome. The kids were given a very long list of rules before being allowed to enter. They were not unreasonable rules, per se, but it was the attitude of the whole thing. Throughout the museum, McKenna had far fewer staff to help keep things running smoothly and tidy which I suppose is why they hammer the clean up after yourself rule so hard. Further, when I was in that art room I loved so much the staff member in there never spoke one word to me or my kids. Very awkward. Once again, I felt like we were intruding.
