I got alot of rest and the staff was really helpful and accommodating with me being handicapped. Great stay.
I hate negatively reviewing hotels because I manage one myself. There are some positives, but also the obvious for only rating a 3. We arrived at 3pm on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. While we were technically and thankfully given an hr early check-in, our room was still being cleaned at the Caravelle resort. I booked and ocean view, but this room was also overlooking the pool. Decided to request another room that was ocean view. Unfortunately it was a sold-out weekend and the only way they could accommodate was moving us the St. Clements building. It was a long hour process of moving the luggage cart from one building to another with 2 small children. While the Caravelle was really busy and crowded with traffic and people, St. Clements was actually much quieter and seemingly less stressful. Relieved to get into our room and see the view we were pleased at first. The view was the best part and it was super easy coming and going to the beach, pool, with good easy parking every time. The not so great part was the quality of the room. Cleanliness was definitely lacking and in a pre-covid era of expectations. Lots of dust as the filter probably needs changed. The fridge wasnt cold at all and nothing stayed frozen in the freezer either. We basically tried refrigerating foods in the freezer. The dish rack was pretty nasty and should be replaced, we washed all dishes before using them. Inventory should be considered as previous guests left purchased plates, bowls, and glasses which was helpful because it would have otherwise been under stocked. The room layout was weird with a bedroom right in the entrance and no closets to hang clothes with minimal dresser space. Hair and debris on floors especially under the beds and couch. There was a pack and play left on the balcony from a previous guest and 3 irons in the room. Overall the room needs a deep clean and general PM from maintenance. All in all it was a room to sleep in for the week and we made the most of it for the decent rate we paid. Did I mention the view was great! The room was just seemingly outdated and not up to par with current covid standards. This will be an awesome room once it is renovated! The kids really enjoyed the pool at both St. Clements and the Caravelle resort. That was our main reason for choosing this location. 3 stars is a fair assessment given the price.
Its was great kids had fun, i had fun
Had an awesome time with my girls. My daughter loved the tube pool! Beautiful views. Safe area.
Tammy thank you very much for your hospitality keep smiling! Front desk Essence thank you pleasure meeting you. Marylin needs to check her attitude not in these days and times I gave you a pass someone else might not be so forgiving I let you slide lady. Jeri, shelia my New York lady which is something I I really enjoyed the breakfast staff Darren, and the chef who prepared our omelets I forget his name he needs to be recognized, and thank you Rocky for the laughs! I have an issue when I asked to speak to the General manager its hard to contact him I was given the wrong email address upon check out! and no luck when I called to leave a message I wasnt being connected to his voicemail so I had to leave the message with front desk still no luck!
Low-key, affordable, accommodations for couples, family groups, friendly getaways or self time... Something for everyone located in one location. Oceanfront extraordinare
Wonderful! There were many pools, all heated and even one indoors with a hot tub so even when it rained you could swim. Very clean and the parking deck is connected to the building. It Is right on the water and had a great rooftop balcony with hammocks. There is a lot to do here, a game room, beach bar, ice cream shop gift shop, fitness room, gazebos and lazy rivers. We never got bored! We will be back!
We are currently here for a week and it’s going to be our last time here. We are staying at the Carolina Dunes condo 101. We have had maintenance for 2 days. Nails were sticking out of the baseboard and closet doors are busted. Sticky stuff in the closet and dirty clothes behind headboard. Can’t see out the window looks like moss growing on the window. Balcony doors are rusty and large cracks in the ceiling plus table legs fell off and table is sticky. Shower in the bathroom had hairs in it very nasty. I guess that’s from the enhanced cleaning!
This hotel has went down quick. We have been staying here for the last 15 years and last year was bad but, I thought maybe things would improve and the cheap prices had me come back this year. Word to the wise, DON’T! You get what you pay for. First day here and of course there is no parking above ground (St.Clements) so had to go underground to park and the elevator button does not work!! All day!! Hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow but I’m not going to hold my breath. Food all over the walls inside, crumbs and sheets still inside pull out sofa bed. 3 towels on the bathroom for 5 people. You would think with COVID-19 going on, cleanliness of the rooms would be a priority. Obviously not. Thank God, I disinfected the room brought my own toiletries and towels. My last time staying here EVER.
We got our room through Airbnb and because of COVID we went to North Myrtle Beach where there is less people than lets says Ocean City. The room was fantastic and portable comfortable. No complaints about the room, pool and beach access is easy and simple, Just like all the other reviews the parking garage is insanely tight and the employees dont put the parking lot full sign when it is full. But its not a big problem because they have over flow parking across the street. Elevators take a super long time so we always used the stairs. But honestly the price was amazing and the room was amazing so not many complaints
The amenities were fine with indoor and outside swimming pools and a lazy river water ride for the kids. With 3 close resort buildings to enjoy each with its own amenities, you can stay at one facility but use all the amenities each sister facility has. The only problem with our stay was the ocean front room we reserved had the air conditioning stop working on the second day of our stay. The front desk had the maintenance dept. look at it but since it could not be resolved quickly they moved our room to another equivalent accommodation.
I booked this room and when we checked in it was horrible. The room on the pictures when i booked the room looked nothing like it! It was our honeymoon and we were so disappointed & dissatisfied. The trash can had no bags, the carpet in the room was filthy! The furniture was so outdated! The tv would cut off. We will never stay here again! Worst hotel ever! On top of that the hotel guest just busted up in our room! Never in my life!
I went from giving this place 5 stars to 2 stars. First of all I paid for an ocean front room at the St. Clements well needless to say I got a full view of a building very little view of the ocean they had me in room 208. If you ever get this room, tell them you want another room. That room reminded me of a run down cheap motel, the mattress was NASTY AS HELL!! It wasROACH INFESTED!!!! So I called the front desk and they moved me to another room! Room 506! WAY BETTER ACCOMMODATIONS! FULL VIEW OF THE OCEAN! BEAUTIFUL ROOM!!! I have been staying there for the last 11 years and they have went down! So I will not stay there again unless I get room 506.
The amenities were nice and front desk service was great! However, very outdated, (paint/mold in doorway, cracks in tub, hair in bathroom) and had a bug problem in bathroom and bedroom. I couldnt get comfortable.
We booked a 10th floor room with our travel agent prior to coming down. When we got there, we met a nice old couple who were checking out. They said their room had cockroaches. We were shocked to hear that. When we went to check in, they told us there our room had already been rented and we would stay on a regular room on the 4th floor even though we already paid for a 10th floor suite. The clerk seemed to be annoyed at us. She was very rude and seemed un-accommodating.The lobby was dirty. There was crumbs and debris all over the floor. Dead bugs under the couches. We went to check that room out to see if it would fit our needs for the week.Went we walk in, the room was in disarray.Trash bags on the hallways, scratches on the walls, someone had used the restroom in that room and didn’t flush(desk lady said the room was just cleaned).Dirty and food crumbs were everywhere. On the tables, on the beds, on the couches, on the floors. I’ll include pictures. There was a film of build up on everything. We called our travel agent to try and get this rectified. We were actually in the process of trying to find another hotel since they double booked our room.We waited hours to be able to check in.After waiting, a 10th floor suite became available all of a sudden. So we decided to check in since we had waited most the day anyways. We get in and the room seems a little cleaner at first. It was a 2 bedroom that sleeps 3 with a kitchen and bathroom. We noticed we didn’t have enough pillows and blankets. So we asked one of the cleaning ladies if we could get more and she acted like she had never heard the words “pillows and covers” before. She was kinda rude.So we walked across the road to the office building to get more and ended up having to wait some time before they lady to get more we were told the staff was gone for the day. Weird.During our stay, we went to the beach almost daily.Upon one of our returns from the beach, the battery for the door lock mechanism to our room had died and we were unable to get in.We called the office to see if they could come fix it.We called 3 times and they they kept hanging up on us So we had to walk traverse the 10 floors on our hotel and walk across the street to the office to ask them to have someone come fix it.They said they would and asked us to remain at our room until maintenance got there and he would be there shortly. So we walked back across the street and up 10 stories and waited. And we waited. And we waited some more. Finally he showed up and was able to let us in.As he opened the door, he entered the room to change the batteries in the door. While doing so, we was checking out stuff out. Like our belongings and after a while, went back to his job and then left.We put the ‘do not disturb’ door card on our door so we could relax.Even with the on the door, the cleaning ladies would still come by and knock on our door. Not a regular knock. They would pound on the door like they were the cops.I got up to let them know we didn’t need room service and she got kinda short with me and mumbled something as she walked away. Very rude.I saw another cleaning lady with blankets and pillow on her cart and asked her if we could have some and she looked at me and said ‘No’ and walked off.On our last night there, I was in the kitchen washing my hands and saw a cockroach in the sink.I went to the desk to tell them and she kinda giggled and said ‘Um, well, sorry, we’ll take care of it’ and turn away and walked off. Which was the second time we told them, the other being the first time and they assured us they didn’t have cockroaches when we originally arrived. For the price we spent on the room, which was several hundreds of dollars during our stay, I personally feel like we got ripped off.If you are coming to Myrtle Beach, please find another place to stay.Dirty, rude, and un-accommodating.Find someone else to stay.
Stood on 12th floor and had an amazing view. Wish the restaurant was open but had been closed due to covid. Only thing I thought needed was some maintenance on gyme equipment but besides they it was a nice place to stay. Very family friendly
We booked OCEANFRONT DELUXE SUITE online paid in full. Got there my husband went in to get key. The young lady who had no idea what she was doing had us confused with somebody else. First she told my husband the debit card he had to show her wasnt the card used to book online. Which it was!! After my husband got that straight after 15 mins she charged my husband another 165$ for another night after he had to tell her about her mistake. She told him the money would be back on his card in a day or 2. Meaning that took 165$ away from our spending money while we were down there . Then we get to our room and its not the room we paid for!!! Nor was it OCEANFRONT!! I honestly think they were being greedy about money and were over booked and just put us in a room. The pull out bed had hair from God knows where allllll over it. Though the rest of the room wasnt toooo bad I dont think we will be going back. Too many mistakes and lies for me.
We really enjoyed our stay up until this morning, took a brisk walk on the ocean b4 check out time. Went in to shower and no running water toilet, sink etc it quickly turned into a quick wash up with a drizzle of water from the tub. Went to check out and let them know about the water she said oh we had a pipe to burst, she spoke as if you didnt know absolutely not how unprofessional it is not to let your guess know of the conditions no retification was offered she also stated if it was just my room then maybe.
Only one person working the desk and one maintenance man! Lost the first day of vacation and hours off the next day. Lock had to be replaced on door. Then got locked out the next day also!!!
Nice place to stay rooms are majority updated. You can do your own cooking and enjoy your view and family. Nice beachfront and entertainment
I’m only giving this two stars because the view of the beach and the balcony were the best part of the entire room. My friend and I booked this for a quick get away and it was not a good experience. First there’s never any parking, EVER!! We were located on the 10th floor and the first night the fire alarm went off so, no elevators. We had to go up 10 flights with a child to reach our room. You’ll probably never be able to get on the elevator it’s always full and one of them didn’t even work. The pool area was okay as well. The proximity of the hotel to the beach was great, but that’s it. The couch in the room was disgusting. The room description was a lie. It was so small and had a really bad odor. Not to mention there was bugs in the room. If you can deal with hard beds, bad odors, and no way to get to and from your room, then it’s perfect. Also met a guy on the elevator when we were leaving and he said he tried to stay there twice to give them a chance. He said he’d never come back, he has issues with his water and also his room. Very cheap and old. We booked through Airbnb and it was not at all what we were expecting.
The room we purchased did not at all match the pics on the website. Firstly, we bought an “ocean view” room only to realize when we got there that we were on the first floor of the main building and the only view was the fence and bushes out front. Secondly, we were missing half of our kitchen amenities and non of the staff would help us get those (even after calling the front desk several times. The front desk lady was extremely rude and unhelpful. Lastly, we found freaking COCKROACHES in our room. That was the 3rd and final straw. The manager was great and helped accommodate us in getting a Partial refund. Don’t stay here, there are MUCH nicer and less expensive places to stay in Myrtle beach.
I stayed here over the weekend. My room was on the first floor and was an outside door. The door was very dirty and it was a little scary going to my room. My room was okay but smelled bad. Later that night I saw several roaches in my room and the shower was stopped up. The next morning housekeeping knocked on my door two times before 9:30 in the morning to see if I checked out. I had to inform her that we had until 11 to check out and to not come back until after that. It rained all night so the next morning the hallway was full of water. I talked to someone else who was staying at the hotel and they told me they lived in the hotel. I would not recommend anyone stay here.
Decision to stay an additional evening was not met with enough staff enthusiasm & Mon. Night rate not comparable to area resorts. Otherwise fine for one night. I usually stay longer.
The first room that we were given, decorated late 70s early eighties. Smelled musty. Water standing on the balcony. Changed rooms. 2nd was more updated. Still had water standing on the balcony. Water marks on the ceiling. Too much money for one night for the condition. Will not be staying there again. Would not recommend.
Lived being off the main strip but close enough to get there with in a few minutes. Great accommodations through our Air B&B app.
Roaches everywhere and smokes detectors went off for no reason from 11pm to 10:30 until removed by maintenance. Plus fecal matter in the large pool that had no closure or warning signs for guest or urgency from staff to clean. It floated for hours. Complained and left several messages with front reception & management but no call back or attempt to remedy the issues.
The view was amazing and the hotel itself was pretty clean. The amenities were pretty decent and I had no issues with the room itself. However, on the morning of our checkout, the housekeeping barged into our room an hr and a half before we were supposed to check out trying to hurry us up. After she did this we put the do not disturb sign on the door so we could finish cleaning up in peace. She then proceeded to barge in 3 (yes seriously 3) more times after that without knocking before our check out time. I seriously hope the hotel addresses whoever was in charge of cleaning our room that day cause shes lucky my girlfriend and I werent naked or something when she kept barging in.
First suite was not good at all, but the manager moved us to a nice oceanfront executive suite. The resort still needs work. The view of the ocean was awesome. Staff was pleasant.
This is not family friendly. The smell of marijuana all day along with fireworks all night. The bathroom tub faucet shakes like it’s about to break. I know this is during COVID-19 but the restaurant is closed and after walking around other hotels restaurants are open. I tried to call and left a message three times before arriving to ask if there was anything we needed to know about before arriving. This was up to a week in advance and no one ever called us back. I’m only giving two stares because the pools for the kids even though I could smell marijuana at the pool. The couch smelled like throw up. Didn’t feel like anyone went out of their way for additional cleaning. Back to Hilton brand for me!
We liked the Caravelle Resort, even though it is an older property, its well maintained. I have stay there twice this summer. Its conveniently located to all the great shopping areas and restaurants. I highly recommend it. Look for it on Airbnb or VRBO.
Vacation ruined. Suite not as advertised. I was put in an unsafe room that had public access without key lock entry protection. After refusing to stay in the unsafe room, I was given a room very much inferior than that pre booked. (No oceanfront view, no Jacuzzi, no full kitchen, no two bathrooms). I was also hung up on by the manager, Gordan and the front desk clerk after voicing my frustration. They were both very rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. In the middle of this stressing pandemic this is beyond appalling. The company and its representatives should be ashamed of how they are treating customers, and are allowed to do so. I payed for a hotel resort, and got motel accommodations.
Caravelle has become our annual family vacation location because it feels like home away from home. This year we decided to come and do it twice. Love love love Caravelle Resort.
The hotel is dated, especially the corridors and room doors. The rooms themselves are reasonably updated, but I had to switch rooms because the mattress was so hard it felt like a boxspring. The pool area was not super clean and parts were closed without any signage indicating so. Access to the public beach was great.
The positive things about this resort is that it’s within walking distance from a Starbucks, it’s on the beach, and the rooms are decent looking. When walking in the doors to the rooms are all filthy and the elevator are gross. There is trash stacked up in every corner. The outdoor pool is outdated and jammed packed with people. The indoor pool was not opened but looked outdated. The pictures on their site must be about 20/30 years old and/or photo shopped. During the day you cannot open your slider to listen or look at the ocean because there is a roof top area where guest blast music and smoke all day from morning until the night. Then at night the younger crowd comes out and parties in that same area. So you hear people screaming, yelling, and laughing all night, even with your slider closed. Again, you are not able to enjoy listening and looking at the ocean. There are also fireworks going off all night. This goes on until 3am and there is no staff asking them to stop. I would say this is a perfect place to stay if you like to party but not for a family with small children.
Lovely place. Lots of choices of things to do. I had a one bedroom condo. Sleeps 6. Kitchen and dining area had dishes, utensils, toaster and coffeemaker, pots and pans and basic utensils. It was rather small because my 4 kids are teens and young adults but would be fine for a young family. My view was overlooking the main swimming pool but I could see much of the beach to my left. Beautiful beaches, less crowded area. You do need a vehicle if you cant walk long distances but golf cart rentals are in the area. Lots of parking but the garage was really tight for large vehicles. We used the main pool, beach access, hot tub & hammocks and 7th floor overlook which was peaceful. Music and bar near pool. Basic housekeeping was offered. Very nice folks. Elevator wait was typically long in the mornings. I would go back but need a bigger condo.
Building is very dated. The parking garage is very narrow, hard to drive around. Ceiling had water damage.Skyroof is nice as is the balcony view.It was good enough for a few days vacation.
The Caravelle was in a great location however, the resort was old and dirty and smelled like sewage all over the resort. There is no security that i am aware of. The on site restaurant was closed due to Covid, which is very understandable but does not mention that on the website. We had to go to every single floor for ice until a guest told us the ice makers were on the “even number floors”! The parking was 6 floors, with traffic going both ways, only to get to the 6 floor to hit a dead end with sign saying turn around! We will not be staying at this resort again and I do not recommend!
It was very nice. The room was small and lit bit outdated. But other than that it was clean, cozy and right off the beach. Great view.
It was one of the worst experiences with hotels we have had at myrtle beach. When we got our room which was on the first floor it was dirty, the hallway had trash laying all over, and we found cockroaches on the walls. When I went to complain the receptionist was very rude and wanted to give me a room on the same floor. When I refused she gave me a room on the 4th floor which was not any better. When I asked if I could go to another tower she told me I could stwitch but it would cost extra so I told her I wanted to cancel my stay and she told me I had to give them a 48 hour notice even though I bought the vip plan. The elevator was busted and was not safe. This was at the Clements tower.
This place was horrible. Usually dont review but this was that bad. St Clements building is under renovation so stay away. The place needs to be professionally maintained.Dirt, trash, roaches, used linens, musty smell, and an unprofessional staff will be there to greet you on your vacation! The best thing about it was the refund!
It was clean and quiet...but pricey during the off season
Off season deal was great. Amazing customer service at check-in. Strange layout and the carpeting outside is interesting too. Room itself was beautiful, upgraded too. We found a few bugs that we were unfamiliar with, not bed bugs though. Great views of the ocean. Enjoyed our stay.
Nice vacation spot and teacher discounts. Clean room beautiful view. Never eat breakfast...
Right when I got there, I found a towel in the bathroom with a huge brown stain on it... Not cool. Also, the bathroom door wouldnt close (the latch was off-centered). The corners of the room and bathroom and other parts had clearly been neglected by the house keeping staff. The room was much smaller than was pictured in the photos. I got in late so I went right to bed and the room was super hot, so I go to set the temperature on the air conditioning unit which was set to 61°F (it was definitely much warmer than 61°F in there). When I tried to turn it down, I saw that this is the minimum temperature - it was SUPER hot in the room during my stay. Additionally, during my stay, I saw some cockroaches crawling around and crawl right under the door into my room. Finally, the desk staff had clearly very little experience: I had a package shipped to the hotel because I had forgotten something at home. They received it but it took them a whole day to find the package after reception... Very unprofessional.Overall, I had a particularly lackluster experience and will not be staying here again, despite the beautiful view (which had to be paid for).
Its always clean and the staff is great and the rooms
1. We booked through phone reservation, we were assured we had the last ocean view room. We stated we would be there in an hour and again, were reassured this wasnt a problem. We got there and were told that all the rooms were booked because we were there so late.2. They miraculously found us a room, checked us in, we go to the St. Clement building and tried to look past the pee stained parking garage and elevator, and are greeted in our room by a trash can half filled with water dripping from the ceiling. There was also already trash in the water.3. Poop already in the toilet4. Two dirty towels on the floor (perhaps also to help with the water leak?)5. Bathtub wouldnt drain properly Never coming back, I do not recommend.
Horrible. Paid for a 2 bedroom condo and specified I needed at least queen size beds in each room. There where 2 beds the staff called standard size, but were like twin size beds in each room. Staff told me that the particular condo was privately owned and the owner put the fruniture in it and they couldnt place me in anything else. My party consisted of one man over 300lbs. We had went out and came back to discover various pieces of fruniture moved around in disarray and the front desk claimed no staff could have been in the condo. Then we noticed the couch has been switched out for one that looked to have been on side of road. I then got the hotel manager involved. She claimed maintenance had switched it out. She claimed it was missing a cushion but it wasnt. After going out and coming in late that night, we walked up the 3 flights of stairs only to discover the door entry cards did not work only to be told the ever convenient excuse that we must have had the cards near a cell phone which we hadnt. At the hotel, it took 30 min to get the card reprogrammed due to there being only one service clerk working at desk. Even though it was 10pm there was a big function in town and there was another employee in voice shot out of sight in an office giving frequent advice to the one working employee but they never came out to assist. My party had to stand around all this time at the condo waiting for me to return with the reprogrammed keys
This place is HORRIBLE. I’ve stayed here a few years ago and it’s nowhere near the same. First off their elevators are super slow. Once one finally came there were so many people on there so we had to keep waiting. The MAJOR problem was that my room had roaches. My kids spotted the baby roaches and once I looked up the big one was crawling up the bed. The man at the desk caught an attitude when I told him about it and asked for my refund.I would NEVER recommend this place. We ended up booking a new room somewhere way better than this place.
The tower is old and outdated. Pictures online must be from the day it was remodeled. First room smelled like musty weed and was very dirty with ants. Luckily they were able to move us. Second room was better but still dirty. Went and bought my own disinfectant spray for a little peace of mind. The elevators are very slow.
The hotel is old and it shows. Needs a lot of updating. The arcade room had equipment from the 90s. But I guess being beach front, your rooms will sell regardless? The parking garage is difficult to navigate if traffic is going both directions but There is an extra one across the street that was a little easier to get in and out of. There are several options for swimming and theres a sun deck on the 7th floor. We enjoyed the convenience of being able to walk to the beach.
Outside of building is slightly dated but my room was updated and clean. Balcony had a nice ocean view. Pools were nice also. Would definitely stay here again!
The room was nice and had a great view. But the bed was honestly awful. It was very firm and made it extremely uncomfortable sleeping on it for two nights. My friend said the same thing when she woke up. If they replace the mattresses itll be a a huge upgrade.
The pictures they provided are very misleading. The resort served its purpose for me and my girl friend’s weekend stay but the elevators did not work when we tried to use them, the room was cramped and filthy, there was ONE available outlet in between both beds, the shower made a really loud banging noise whenever you turned the water on, the floors left our feet black at the bottom & the parking garages were tiny and cramped. Very hard to find parking. We were told we had an ocean front view and all we had a view of was the pool and it was a very noisey location for what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation.
This place is outdated and unsanitary. Make sure you use cleaning supplies if you choose to stay. They do not clean your room until you leave...allegedly. My family and I had to go through 3 different rooms before we identified a clean enough room to stay in. The first room had blood stains, dirty showers, dirty dishes in the oven, marijuana on the floor and dirty linen. Everything is run down, theyre understaffed and do not take time to maintain this place. Essence at the front desk was nice. So was the maintenance man, Steven.
Not the cleanest, the toilets stop up easily and no maintenance at night to fix. U have to plunge your own toilet. Everything else was ok
The hotel is very updated. Nothing was open other than the pool. Parking garage in hotel was sized for nothing bigger than a smart car however there was a larger garage across the street. Found large roaches all over. The bathtub was extremely dirty. The staff was pretty rude other than one lady at the front desk. Looked under beds, and it looked like cleaning crew just sweeps the trash under the beds. The pool was heated and was miserable to get in during the day. Got a kitchenette and the silverware was all still dirty. While doing laundry at night staff locked me out when I ran up to the room. I called the front desk and the rude a** women told me there was a sign on the door that stated the laundry room closes at 11pm and she wasn’t responsible for my items in the laundry room.(there was no sign) had a maintenance member help he agreed there was no sign. I would do you self a favor and book somewhere closer to the boardwalk to far away to walk for entertainment.
It was alright for the price and the amenities. Pictures and everything was very misleading but I had a great time and great stay. I was told it was beach front, which for the most part it is but there’s a whole tiny other hotel/spot in front of us which kind of makes us not a beach front because I didn’t know I’d be staying at the tower location versus the other ones and was never explained this. The rooms could be tended to more as far as maintenance. Half our lights didn’t work. If I were staying more than 1 night I wouldn’t stay here and next time I probably will go to a different resort/hotel.
Very disappointed in our stay. The lazy river was closed for 5/6 days of our stay, as well as the outdoor hot tub, the pool in the other building was closed, as well as the restaurant in the resort. Not to mention there was NO WATER for the first part of the day on the 19th as well as the poolside bar being closed. The elevators were obnoxiously slow and only one of the front elevators worked. The parking garage is terrible. If you drive a 1500 with anything more than stock height to include a level kit plan on parking across the street! Do not see myself or anyone I know staying here again. The area is nice Id suggest any of them around the Caravelle, just not it!
Was not clean food and paper under beds no bath towels just wash rags and hand towels. Toilet seat terrible.needed to be replaced. Room was not cleaned well. Bed sheets had stains on them. Dont know if I will ever stay there again. Bad first impression!!!
We will not be staying again. Very little amenities and our room had bugs. One of the worst places we have ever stayed.
My room description was inaccurate. After Calling the front desk they said they were full and don’t have any other rooms. I went down to go see the front staff and they were able to switch my room immediately. Why did they lie? We had to move from being on the ocean to the Seamark towers. The room had ROACHES. Not one, not two, but I saw a total of five roaches. There was mold on the ceiling so I couldn’t enjoy my time in the room due to my allergies flaring up. This was ridiculous and my whole vacation was ruined.
We booked a 7 night stay for a deal and ended up getting two extra nights. I loved the hotel and the pools! The beach wasnt crowded in front of the hotel. The room i had was beyond amazing especially the ocean front view and all the dresser!! I dont want to leave out the WONDERFUL service I had from the staff that worked that the hotel! I would havent never left if I could have afforded it haha we will definitely be going back. Thank you for being so kind of our family vacation
Very clean. Check in was smooth staff was nice. Only thing they didn’t have breakfast and it was no extra cover in the closet for the bed.
This 9 days we been here were okey, the reason is, we saw a cockroaches in our room, even 3 of them we had to kill!!! Also cleaning is very bad, I understand that because of COVID-19 you couldn’t clean our rooms, but when we came its still wasn’t clean at all. I liked this place only because of the view on the ocean and how close the ocean are !!! Overall I won’t recommend this place!!!
There are a few things not open right now, but I love it here. I got an executive doubles suite. Everything is so clean, new, and the view of the ocean is so beautiful! Highly recommend. Staff is very helpful and friendly!
Ill give the caravelle resort 3 stars. Heres why they dont get 5 stars: #1. The roaches. I stayed in St. Clements and they had small roach issue. If they dont do something soon they will have an infestation of the whole building. If our room had them, I know they rest of the building has them. Roaches travel where they is food and water. #2. The rude housekeeping. Some of the house keeping over the phone whoever mainly answers for housekeeping are very rude!!!! Kept cutting me off when im speaking or talking to others not really focused on what I was asking for and stingy with the towels and rags when I have 4 kids and 2 adults in one room!!!! #3. Outdated washers and dryer and broken dryer. With the change shortage going on in America and everyones going paperless their washers and dryers are still taking quarters (if you put your quarter in the wrong slot, the machine doesnt give you a refund so you are S.O.L. if this happens) with no other alternative such as a card reader device to pay for washing or drying. One of the dryers was broken and was not drying my wet washed clothes. I spent 6 dollars before I figured this out.($1.50 to wash for 30 minutes and $2 to dry for 45 minutes) #4. The parking. The spaces are small the turns are tight going underground. The structural concrete poles make it difficult for larger SUV and trucks to get around. People are parking in St. Clements spots that dont belong in those spaces all night long. I brought this to the attention of the guard and he basically blew me off. I know people live there as well but those werent the people parking there. If management fixes these issues they will get 5 stars
People were complaining about their room while I was in line and I was like Lord please let my room be fine and it was. I am here to celebrate my birthday and want to have a great time.
I normally dont write reviews, but this one needs to be reviewed. First let me start by saying, bad impression when I first got in the door, 5 people in line with 1 person/manager on the register, second they assigned a single woman to a first floor, ground room, not secure at all, third the room had a smell to it when you walked in, the floor still had sand and dirt as if it wasnt cleaned, the blanket had a stain on it, and lastly there was a baby roach crawling on the floor. Unbelievable!!! I will never stay there again and NOT worth the $100 I spent to stay there.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS RESORT! My fiancé booked this resort thru AirBnB for a quick getaway for my bday and it was totally not what we expected. Nasty, Dirty and Outdated. We seen a roach crawling on the wall, packed up and left. Absolutely unacceptable. We will never book this resort again.
We unfortunately only read the room reviews and not reviews of the whole resort or we never would have stayed here. The resort itself is old and unkept, it looks like it’s crumbling. The parking garage is tight and difficult to navigate for larger vehicles. The elevators reek of smoke and body odor. The pools and lazy river have broken tiles, and very limited chairs. Our balcony overlooked the pool which is supposed to close at 10 but people were out being loud until almost 1030. Fireworks were being shot off at 930pm and at midnight for nearly an hour. Then maintenance was at the pool before 7am shouting at each other. The smell of cigarette smoke and weed from other guests made our balcony unusable. The smell of cigarette smoke even drifted in from our front door as smokers walked by the room. Pizza and ice cream shop at the resort were closed. The room had a pretty good view Of the beach and is conveniently located. Our room was renovated and was nicely decorated however the air conditioning didn’t work well and our room stayed very warm and humid.
Nice room. Great pools and great views of the beach
Great ocean view from our room. Private room not as clean as I would have liked.
Facility was great and clean. Neighbors got a bit rowdy at night.. front desk was hard to get ahold of and housekeeping staff shoupd not beballowed to speak to guests.. they were extremely rude.
My family have been staying at the caravelle for 5 years and I have recommended this resort numerous times however this past year has been treacherous! My stay in September was the start of it all my family of 6 arrived at 8:30 pm and had to change rooms 3 times after checking into seamark the first room had feces on the toilet, the sheets were dirty and had makeup on the pillowcase so after calling numerous times no answer I packed my family up and changed rooms. Next room we all went in got settled ordered a pizza and roaches started coming out so again I called and called no answer I packed my entire family up again, had to wait in line to let them know it’s roaches in the room, got another room, unloaded my entire family get to the room and the key isn’t working, call no answer so I get in the car drive to the main office wait in line for 20 mins to get another key get into our room at 3am in this room is a dead cockroach but we’re beat now, so I just picked it up flushed it, disinfected the room and went to sleep, after going out the next day we got back in washed our beach wear and clothes put them in the dryer and then the dryer caught on fire!!!!! Burned our clothes I called the front desk and got Gordon who was amazing and caring did everything he Could, so the next day we were then moved again to the Caravelle’s main tower Gordon authorized a comp night for our troubles and Tess handled the reservation and assured me I’d get the other 2 nights. So in the main tower we didn’t realize we didn’t have any pots or pans until after leaving the grocery store and about to prepare a meal, I walked to the main desk and was told someone will bring me some 3 hours later no one showed up so we just loaded up and returned home. Fast forward to September now I’m using my comp stay with the remaining 2 days Tess gave me the worst time reserving, and during my comp stay it rained and it poured all in the room ruining my work laptop, beats head phones my luggage and all my clothes and shoes, this was at 5 am I was told to leave everything so that it could be viewed by management, and she didn’t come until 10:40 and when she arrived she was extremely extremely rude and unprofessional, she didn’t even say hello to us, and when she and Francis left we they didn’t even let us know they were leaving I don’t know which one of them were the worst because it seems they were trying to out do eachother Tess said “we won’t be taking any responsibility for this you’re acting like I asked the ceiling to leak on your belongings before she exited” I was in disbelief and had to call the police to make an report and I’m still awaiting to hear from the GM
Love the place gorgeous room on the 15th floor great View I did not meet the staff too much. Nice security was excellent.
Great place with pool hot tub and right on the beach if you are looking for echo friendly and on a budget this is a place for you!!! The Caravelle resort tower has been completely renovated. All the rooms are nice and updated. They all have the best all you can eat breakfast bar, there are fresh made omelets, Belgian waffles, a juice bar and a main breakfast bar. With egg, bacon, sausage links, grits, etc....and dont forget the juice bar which is really nice too.
I always love this chain because of the employees I had several incidents but they hey were settled and I was accommodated I left a very important item in the room they moved me from and the house keeper was so polite I wish I knew her name but she is an older American European she is older but boy she is fast and efficient and kind and loyal to her job and self she could have kept it like whomever cleaned my room and didn’t turn my jacket in first time I lost somethingBut my stay their was awesome omg the bar by the pool best margaritas on the planet the food in the restaurant and outside is divineThere is an entrance if you are disabled I’m newly disabled so I look for us but I take the regular route more sand dune to cross but the water is so calmingI would recommend this property they are children friendly lazy river music hot tub several pools I enjoy Myrtle and I love the people’s at this property
King efficiency room was good. Looked good
Nice condo and spacious; enjoyed the ocean view very much! However, the tub drained very slowly, it was difficult to obtain a cart upon my arrival and departure, so my family & I had to carry all of our belongings by hand (from the 14th floor). Would probably stay here again...
I stayed at the St. John’s Inn. I was on the first floor. It was nice room. Nice view. But I did notice it wasn’t that clean. Bed was outdated and didn’t have a full coverage bed bug cover. That’s a must for me. But what really made my stay here awful were the amount of cockroaches in my room. I mean these things were HUGE. We even found one on the bed my last night there. I was paranoid and couldn’t sleep. I figured even if I asked to change rooms there will still be the same issue as it’s not just the room it’s the entire building. On my third day there was a pest control guy knocking on everyone’s door asking to fumigate the place. I said yes. He literally walked in sprayed two corners and left. And it was strong had to open the doors. That did not help at all as they kept showing up every night. They were swarming my patio at night so I couldn’t even relax outside. I also did not receive any house keeping services. Aside from the restrictions of covid-19 they left a note stating that we had to put out towels and trash in bags inside right next to the door and housekeeping would come and exchange for clean towels and trash bags. They never came. After the third day I had to go down to main office and request it. I went off for my day and when I came back I still had no clean towels or trash bags. I went back and asked and had to wait almost a half hour before I finally got some. And for the rest of my stay they didn’t come. They also didn’t provide any cleaning supplies since services were limited. I called the manager and complained about it all and she only offered one night refund. Which I’m still waiting and haven’t seen the refund yet. I believe I should have gotten more than just one nights refund. I’m extremely disappointed with my stay. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
This is the dirtiest resort I have ever stayed in. The bathroom floor was filthy, the house keeper just slopped the mop around the center of the room. I made a trip to the lobby, with photos to show how dirty the room was. I was told someone would be there to re mop the floors, even road up the elevator was the General Manager, showed him the dirty floors. Nothing called after 6 nights to get bedding changed. Knocked on the door and handed a stack of sheets, to change myself. Don’t waist your money!
We stayed at St Clemens it is a older hotel but our room was privately owned & decorated beautifully..an updated kitchen..a very comfortable king size bed with full windows all the way across the rounded balcony which made the view incredible. Also a separate bedroom with a full bed on bottom & twin bunk on top, small room but perfect for our stay & my 5 yr old grandson loved it. The laundry room right by the lobby elevator. The employees always spoke wishing everyone a nice day they were constantly working to clean, vacuum & keep up the hotel. Yes its older but it was clean & thats most important for the stay of our family. Plans to return in the future !!
There was so many ROACHES in the buildings! My family and I had two different rooms and they both were ROACH INFESTED! I do not recommend thjs place at all!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to go back this summer!
Even though we were in a renovated room lots of things were still broken. They only have two elevators in the building to the parking garages. I spent 15 minutes on one elevator trying to get to the ground floor. This hotel is very dated in other parts and the breakfast was terrible. Only reason they get two stars is because the view from our room was amazing.
This was my first and last time staying at The Caravelle Resort. The pictures and layout on their direct website for ocean view are not what I received at check in. I checked into a room on the 11th floor, and immediately called the front desk. I was told there were other rooms we could view so we were shown a room on the 6th floor. This room matches the layout we were expecting for ocean view however it was not ocean view. It was a view of the pool and street. Next, we saw a room on the 10th floor which was identical to the room on the 11th floor but it looked cleaner so I accepted this one. Still, the layout is not what I was expecting. This resort is run down looking and needs major updates to the exterior. The parking garage is horrible, small, and always filled so we had to park across the street to the overfill deck and then walk across the street to the hotel. I will say that the room itself was average but again smaller than expected since I booked based on images and layout. The images on the company’s direct website are very misleading and false advertisement which is unfair to customers especially those that travel nearly 4 hours to the resort only to get there and be dissatisfied.
Went a few weeks ago & everything was great up until check out ! We paid in cash so we had to leave another 100$ deposit . That was our gas money to make it back home . When we went to check out the lady at the front desk said she had no access to any money and there was nothing she could do. We were stuck there for another 2-3 hours with a 3 & 1 year old trying to do find money for out way back. We only brought so much with us . Iv been calling since we got home and no one had returned our call.
Even tho there was some confusion and my room was not in the bed shape but thanks to Tamera she made it happen. My son loved the new room and so did we. Thankyou so much Tamera
Upon arrival room was a disaster, refrigerator in room was nasty, closet was full of sand, beds had blood stains on them, and pool was closed due to glass breakage. I immediately went to front desk and they didn’t even try to make it right. I got my money back and went to Breakers resort. I Highly recommend breakers cheaper and cleaner and more updated rooms.
Stayed in the St. Johns portion of the resort. Seemed like more people living in the hotel, than vacationing. Given an arm band for access to the pool amenities, but the pool was closed for the holiday and slated to reopen on the next day, a Tuesday. The room was small but decent. The toilet was that of a rest stop. The water pressure in the shower was affected by other rooms and would reduce to almost a trickle.
I WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN! Everything was going fine checked in, room clean, nice view right on the beach until I laid down and there was a live bed bug in my bed... also most of the ice machine & vending machines are broke and the ice machines that did work you wouldn’t want ice out of them cause they’re nasty and trash everywhere! WOULDNT RECOMMEND!
We have been staying here for years. Some good ups but they always make it right! Our room is ocean front always a great view! And dont forget to have breakfast here omelette station waffles made to order.. fabulous and always a deal going on just ask what it is . !
The Caravelle was WONDERFUL! It exceeded my expectations! In hotels I am often concerned if there will be noise through the walls of other rooms or above me- BUT IT WAS SUPER QUIET! The room was very clean and tidy. I had originally wanted a front oceanview but got a Sideview and it was perfect! GREAT VIEW! Great hotel - 5 Star experience! (Perfect for the health conscious with a full size fridge and kitchenette! )
Nice place, I had a problem with one of the rooms but the front desk took good care of me and I enjoyed the rest of my stay.
