Murfrees Wetland is a place I can go every week and see several different animals and birds! It is absolutely beautiful there!

We spent a few hours walking around and watching the wild life. We saw lots of turtles, fish, and beavers. We even saw a small but shy little snake. The plants and flowers were beautiful. Lots of birds too. Theres a discovery center too but it was closed on Mondays. Looking forward to visiting again.

A great place to bring young ones. Learn practical applications related to science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. You can visit for a few minutes or stay for hours...and hours. Its so interesting here for young and old minds alike, dont be surprised if you hear some crying on the way out!

It was a nice place to walk, but the garbage floating in the water was pretty disappointing. I did not take pictures of the trash.

Nice wetland with broad walkways. Diverse, observable wildlife. Interesting gardens, a playground, cool art, and lots of benches.

Can’t beat free, unique, local community parks like these. The park isn’t too big for a short walk to enjoy the natural beauty and nature that is captured at this spot. Cities, like Murfreesboro, should be commended for funding and setting aside land for these types of experiences - a special and serene location where otters, beavers, cranes, and other wildlife can be observed. The visitor center was closed because of COVID-19 situation, however, after peering in the window, it looked like something for smaller kids anyway. I would give it five stars except for all the floating garbage that detracted from the overall enjoyment. We could see a variety of styrofoam, toys, beer bottles, food wrappers, etc. After talking with a local there, we were told that the city (or whoever) used to clean it out, but for some reason, stopped doing it. She also mentioned that some wildlife recently died from eating some of the floating garbage...

I was disappointed at the trash that people had thrown in the wetlands. It is a beautiful place that needs to be protected. Our cub scout pack was also very sad by the trash they saw but enjoyed discovering the ecosystem and the wildlife.

This a wonderful park to take your kids. Lots of tn wildlife they have little playground also in the front. They do need to do a wildlife clean up where people have come and dropped things in the water and it just floats.in to a little island. Otherwise wonderful place for the extremely easy nature lover. All pathways are paved.

Yes please!!! Mimi & PopTim took the Grandboys here for a quick mid-afternoon stroll. Wow! How fun for us AND the boys! Now, this is nature, so patience is a must. That said, we were able to see plenty of wildlife on our stroll that entertained a 3 yr old & 12 yr old - just with the wetlands walk! (Which is FREE, btw!)Inside, the a/c is welcome, but Corona boolah-boolah virus threats made me too nervous to fully enjoy watching my boys have hands-on-experience w/water works, fire engine, hearing tests, etc.The Discovery Center encourages, and provides, hand sanitizing stations that are plentiful throughout the inside facility.Masks are not only required, but are friendly-like reminded while youre inside on the premises. Thank you Discovery Center for helping remind us of our safety during these crazy times. We WILL be back!

This is just a wonderful nature area where youd never expect it. Parking is sometimes tight on days when the Discovery center is open for free, but otherwise its a great, quiet spot to walk and enjoy nature. I went twice during the winter so there wasnt much activity from the wildlife, but there are signs of beaver activity and you can hear the birds all around.

Love bringing the kids here we get to talk around and count all the turtles. I wish people were a little more respectful and did not just throw trash everywhere but at the same time I wish that it was cleaned up as well. Has a small playground area, restrooms and reading material throughout the trail.

I used to come here all the time when I was little, and I still love it to this day. It is very peaceful, and a good place to teach children about nature and expose them to Tennessees wildlife. Unfortunately, there is a littering problem, and the ecosystem has been suffering.
