This place is fun for all ages, but especially for kids under 10. Your kids will love the two-story slide, but make sure you ball up a little if you are tall... Im 54, and I definitely slowed down because of it. They have several permanent exhibits, and Tiny Town, a place where kids 5 and under can pretend to run the town! Theres even a baby room for kids from birth until 2. There are outdoor exhibits, too, along with a playground and garden. Murfree Spring has a walking trail and a cool playground, too! Admission for everyone 2 and older is $8.95, and there are membership packages for families of up to 7, some of which include reduced or free admission to most scientific museums in the US. The things that kept me from rating this place a 5 were the fact that most of the exhibits and especially the carpets and walls were very dirty. I dropped a baby wipe on the floor in Tiny Town, and it was black where I rubbed the floor while picking it up, and a lot of the exhibits didnt work 100%, some of which were due to cleaning issues, and some just needed to be repaired.

Such a cool place! I took my 15 month old and he loved Tiny Town! It was clean and the workers were so nice but the problem with tiny Town is that the workers had to go through it to get to a door. Multiple employees were going back and forth and in and out. This adds some chaos to the area but will go again!

We recently visited from out of town, and I wish we could have brought the Discovery Center back to Florida with us. My kids (2, 4, and 6) had a blast experimenting with the water table (and I was glad to see that they had multiple sizes of waterproof smocks to keep the kids dry) and playing in the little playhouse, digging for dinosaur bones, dressing up and riding on a firetruck, and playing grocery store. The clean, bright, and open space is well set up for lots of learning that just feels like play! Well worth the reasonable price.

This place will provide many hours of fun! It’s low cost and there are SO. MANY. ACTIVITIES. your kiddo can do. We are annual pass holders. It is great for many ages - I would say toddlers (I’d say one year old / walking) to 9-10 years old. You could easily let your kids play here for 4 or 5 hours.*Bring a change of clothes, there’s a big water activity area and they may get pretty wet playing there.*Snacks like juice, water and chips can be purchased here as well as little toys and stuffed animals.*One downside is that they have school field trips here and there’s WAY to many kids and it gets WAY to loud.

We will not be back. Came from out of town to visit with the kids. Watched two different ladies blatantly go after a raccoon. The raccoon was at one point trying to hide in the bushes until it could escape and the workers sought it out went in the bushes and were beating it with a broom. You could hear it cry. It didn’t try to attack them or anything. The worst was you could see blood in the bushes when you walked by. Terrible awful people.

This is a great place for kids to experience nature and science inside and out. There are permanent and rotating hands-on displays that show about gravity, water, the solar system, physics, nature, sunlight, and many other physical properties. There are outside walkways and observation areas that wind around Murfree Springs Wetlands that flows to the Stones River. For the patient and observant person, there are lots of things to see, or photo opportunities, including - turtles, water birds, song birds, raccoon families, opossums, squirrels, insects, butterflies, and other animals. I just saw a large family of Canadian Geese with their babies taking a walk through the parking lot this week. Please respect all the animals, they love the wetlands! So this is a place to take the kids to, or to enjoy nature outside at your pace. There is no charge to park and take a stroll in nature. Enjoy!

This place is awesome!!!!! I took all 4 of mids there after the dentist to treat them and I only spent 40 bucks or so on admission! They had an absolute blast! Even my 1 yr old had a great time! Theyve got all sorts of things for the kids to do and even have an arts and crafts room. My wife and I spent over 3 hrs there and didnt decide to leave until the kids started getting tired. We plan to make trips to this place quite often now as its cheap, fun, and not that far away from our home. I recommend this to those parents who want their children to have fun and learn at the same time! Btw, its all day admission. You wont regret going here!!

I have taken my four young children here several times. This last year someone bought us a year pass as a gift. The bottom floor and some of the top floor exhibits are permanent. Downstairs includes some animals, a place for younger children, an art room, a grocery stand, a play house and an exhibit helping the children discover their senses. Upstairs, the exhibits include building small cars, a play oil change car, a big train, and a room with an electric toy train set up on display that runs. Then every few months a new, traveling exhibit takes up half of the upstairs. Some examples have been the rainforest, Clifford, and Curious George. Outside, there are two play areas in addition to an extensive walking platform above the wetlands there. On our last visit we saw a pair of otters. This is definitely a place my children enjoy going and its good for them too.

It was just okay. Many of the activies are showing wear and are missing pieces or broken. Some have signs attached to them that are outdated stating more about how it use to work or how it used to be. Five buses of kids were there for a field trip today. You might want to check ahead when planning your visit. With the high volume of visitors we saw today it was easy to see why there was wear and tear.

This is my daughter’s favorite place! We go once per week and she never tires of playing here. I’d say that the activities and exhibits are definitely geared towards kids under 7, and it’s very safe for super small children as well. Really disappointed, at every center we visited to explore and play at had items missing so we didnt get the full effect. I even tried to place items I seen laying around back where they went but they still had parts missing. The craft table had nothing but coloring crayons and some buttons with empty glue sticks, no paint. The 3 girls working did nothing but sit at the front desk. All the centers that had costumes were dirty and smelled bad. So again, we didnt get the full experience. I feel like the facility has neglected to clean up and be sure every thing was in place, however I do understand that with kids its hard but being a kid friendly environment I would hope to have clean toys and costumes. Germix was placed around but again 2 were empty. It wasnt busy so that was pleasant. I really would love to see them call the donors that have donated or sponsored a center and let them know that there area needs ungraded or replace the items. Im sure Tn orthopedic would not want there name on something that is not working properly as well as home Depot! I also feel like the employees could have walked around more and replaced art supplies as I seen cabinets full of nice supplies!!! I also think employees could spray the hats and clothes with LICE spray or germicidal spray as kids love a full participation activity!
