I was here for a photo shoot and it was a very sobering experience. I havent read the history of the house yet, but I plan on it today. Im from Natchez,MS so I grew up around plantations galore. Its still a surreal moment considering I couldnt stand here a free man about 170 years ago. I enjoyed my time here and I will be back for a tour soon.

We had our wedding here and it was absolutely gorgeous. Connor was so awesome and everything was just perfect that day. If you’re planning a wedding and thinking about this place, do it!

This place is amazing around Halloween. The mansion gets this dark and majestic glow, and children come out and play at night time. Some people say they come from the graveyard, while others think theae are children who are child spies. Oaklands Mansion is definetly the place to go on October

Oakland Mansion is just an all around beautiful property to just go & walk, my lil one loves to go walk the trails & read all about the trees thats on the property.

While visiting friends in Tennessee who recently relocated within the state to Murfreesboro we discovered the Oaksdale Mansion and decided to check it out. The property, mansion. And furnishings were all beautiful. The tour super informative and the whole experience pleasant. The staff went out of their way to make sure the tour groups were not too big and eager to answer questions. The area is sometimes overshadowed by other places, but this is one well worth catching while in and around Murfreesboro.

Dec.1 2018 just finished the candle light Christmas tour. The mansion was beautiful! But the Bell home and the B&B were awful.Very poor decorating! To much junk! The two new homes on the tour were the best Not really worth the drive from Paducah.

The grounds are a absolutely beautiful. The home is made of brick and is evidenced by the deep doorways which are covered in plaster. Its simple yet elegant for the early to mid 1800s. I enjoyed all the clothing on display, yet is now going back to Atlanta. We were fortunate to see it.

My wife and I went to their annual picnic fund raiser and had a terrific time. It is well worth the money to preserve the history of Oakland Mansion.

We entered the main building and received a very warm smile from the gentleman at the desk. As he led us from room to room very interesting details of this historical plantation helped us understand the 1980s history and the family that had built this estate.

Wonderful place！

What a gem in the middle of the city. The whole place is really well kept. The grounds are well maintained and perfect for outdoor events. If you get a chance to take a tour of the house with one of their historians dont pass it up as the house is amazing and full of history.

The Tour Guide knew so much about the home and was enthusiastic to tell us all he knew about this beautiful home he loved so much.

Unfortunately I visited at a time when the house was closed. However, I still had a great time and learned a lot while walking around the property. I cant wait to go back at a time when the estate is open for viewing!

I enjoy the Oaklands mansion tour and its historic significance especially during the battle of Stones River when the owner, Dr. John Maney, opened it up to wounded soldiers, first Confederate then Union.Interesting are his medical tools and equipment as well as other historic pieces. Yes, there are blood stains in front of the lower fireplace and its said to be haunted.

Excellent mansion for children (and adults) to learn about local history. They also host many good educational events.

I had an amazing time! The tour was very informative and interesting as well! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable.

Friendly staff, ready to share their knowledge of the home. Went on flashlight night, planning to go again soon for a more informative tour.

Drove 45 min to see the place. Hours say they’re open until 4pm. It’s 2:25PM and no one here. Closed up tight.
