How can you do Milwaukee and not take a few minutes to do the historic birthplace of the Cheesehead?! This original location where it all began is convenient to downtown, just a handful of blocks south of Third Ward, and close for Bayview and the South Side (near Cermak Grocery & the AB clocktower). Havent taken the tour yet but will soon as we have guests to show around. Yes, you can meet the inventor and make your own. Even if you only have 5-10 minutes to spare, visit the store and/or go online to see the many varietal offspring that first Cheesehead spawned. We just visited and the trademark facemasks have arrived... Stock up & have fun while doing your part!

A fun and unique tour filled with Wisconsin history! I thoroughly enjoyed making my very own cheesehead. An added bonus....there are alcoholic beverages to purchase for the tour as well.

I have lived in Southeastern Wisconsin my entire life, and I had no idea about the history of the Cheesehead, and that they’re all made in the cutest little factory in downtown Milwaukee! We just took a tour this morning and made our own cheeseheads, and it was such a unique experience. We had the most adorable tour guide, and she was so friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. Everyone should take this tour. So cheap and an experience to remember. Highly recommended!

You NEED to do the tour where you make your own foam cheese item at the end!! I’m a local and saw this place in an article about fun things to do in Milwaukee. Did not disappoint! Got there a little early to look around the store and have a photoshoot, the tour was informational and cheesy Our tour guide was happy to answer any questions we had. The best part by far was making our own item at the end. When I purchased the tickets I thought it was a little pricey but it was 100% worth it, especially since we got to take the items home. I’d recommend to anyone!! Very kid friendly.

We had such a great time on the tour with our commander in cheese Mark! We loved all the cheesy jokes and getting to make our own cheesy hats! We were visiting from NYC and this was a definite highlight of our whole trip. Were looking forward to sporting all our fun new headgear on the plane ride home

We were there this past weekend, to go to a Milwaukee Bucks game with our son. I need to qualify that none of are Packers fans, either!! Needed something for him to do in the afternoon before the game. We did the tour, the tour guide I must say, very nice, knew his stuff very well, and is great with kids. Our son is 9, his interest was in it the whole time. Tour was fun, got to see all of the weird Cheesehead creations, then we got to make our own Cheeseheads. Very easy to do, and kid friendly to make the cheesehead. Lastly just as we were leaving me met the creator, such a wonderful man. You can clearly see why this is such a great company! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone!

This is an awesome off the path stop when visiting Milwaukee! They have a gift shop inside with lots of cheesy items. They have beer and wine available to take in while you get the tour. They also have a photo spot set up while you wait to take some photos in cheesy gear. This is definitely top three of things I did while visiting the city. Unfortunately I cant remember the name of our tour guide but he was VERY knowledgable, easy to talk to, and had midwest charm. The tour began with history of the company and how it began and a short tour of the factory. After the tour we got to make our own foam hats which was essentially just pouring the foam mixture into an encasing and letting it firm up. Every question we had he was able to answer and we were even fortunate enough to meet the maker of the Cheesehead hats as he was hanging around the factory! Another thing to mention is my boyfriends hat initially had a marking on it that made it less than perfect, but we would of been fine with it. However when the guide saw it (we didnt say anything) he made my boyfriend a new one. Awesome!! Definitely recommend!!

I would highly recommend this tour. I took my family on the make-and-take hour-long tour for the holidays and had a blast! The building itself is fascinating, and the cheesehead-making operation is a fun combination of high-tech and make-shift rigs that made me feel like we were in the Myth Busters workshop. The tour guide was also fantastic - lighthearted, witty, and very informative. Then, of course, was the making of the cheeseheads. We each got to pick our mold and the guides helped us pour our very own! Again, highly recommend!

IT WAS A BLAST!!! The staff was friendly and very informative, the tour was about an hour and it was just me and my girlfriend, you get to choose what kind of cheesehead you want to make and it was well worth the 25 bucks. We even got to meet the founder Ralph who came out to say hello it was the best tour we took in Milwaukee a Must DO

We came for what we thought was a cheese making tour. There is no cheese here lol. Nonetheless, we did the tour and got to make our very own cheese head hats. It was a great time. The tour was fun and entertaining with lots of cheesy jokes. It was kid friendly and something different. Staff was very friendly.

After wearing the cheesehead hat for 4 or five hours to a packers game, my scalp turned red and skin was very irritated. My doctor said that its the hat that causes this irritation.I think the hat is made from some kind of chemical liquid that its not skin friendly. Very disappointed.
