Was looking for some place to go for a late afternoon fall walk. Was a perfect 30 minute walk through the beautiful woods of Manchester. Definitely worth checking out if you havent yet. Its beautiful.
This was great hike, getting back to nature and the woods right here at home in Manchester. Trails are naturally packed with great rocks and roots. Not too difficult to navigate, the maps on the trails are easy to see to get you around. I brought my homemade walking stick which is great as a 3rd leg. Enjoy the ruggedness and outdoors!!!
Lovely hiking area, elevation change is not significant, so perfect for anyone interested in getting into nature. Some lovely plants and trees, very peaceful.
Relaxing hiking loop with lovely foliage. Great for a quick, casual hike perfect for those who want to escape from the hustle and bustle for a bit and just enjoy nature.
Beautiful trail, I average around 5,000 steps and takes about an hour if I take my time. I have seen two Cubs and a mama bear near dusk awhile ago.
It is a neat place to go for a short walk. No dogs allowed.
If you are going here in the Summer definitely bring at hat and bug repellent. Some of those bugs like to dive bomb into your hair, so the hat is helpful. Also this is a very poorly marked trail, with endless roots and uneven rocks for a trail, you often dont know where the path is, you know where it is not. So if you are new to the trail, or pretty much anyone, its NOT a good path to hike close to sundown.A picture of the walking path was posted, its a fair representation of the hiking trail throughout. It would be great of the parks dept. actually made signs that made sense. You can run into multiple trail forks, one after the other, and both paths will have the exact same name, rhododendron loop to the right and rhododendron loop to the left, so the signs are often worthless.
Nice place to go for a a walk!
Another great local NH hike!
Good for a short and easy hike
My favorite hiking trail ever. Its magickal. I could get lost here for days and be perfectly content. Truly beautiful.
Great trails and fabulous rhododendrons!
Great trails, quiet, not many people at all. Could certainly use another parking space or two
Its a nice short hike within the city.
One of the best swamps in all of the southern NH area that begin with C
Lovely trails and loops through a swampy forest. Just bring bug spray
Great little reserve. Very short trails though. There are three loops you can do but all together they dont take much more than an hour to an hour and a half to complete. No dogs allowed which is also a bummer. The area itself is very nice though.
Excellent walking trail. No massive crowds yet. Be careful of the hills and rocky trails as they can sometimes be challenging. The trails are clearly marked but I always bring my compass.
Interesting area. Unfortunately the best hiking companions in the world are not allowed, so I won’t be visiting again soon.
Awesome, rustic hiking trails that make you forget you are on the edge of a Neopolitan city. All the trails are well blazed and could be used as a comprehensive Land/Nav course.Come here to have fun. Please remember: Leave nothing but footprints. Take nothing but memories. The trailhead needed a little TLC (someone had left trash. Beer bottles, Gatorade bottles chip bags). My family and I cleaned up for them. Please clean-up after your self so other wont have to.
Fun
Its a swamp. Expect mosquitoes depending on the season. Otherwise awesome little hike.
Its a nice trail, it is a swamp so expect bugs.
Lots of orange newts!
Several short, nice hikes for the family or what have you. Interesting elevation changes lead to some cool landmarks in the woods. Very cool short hike.
Beautiful trails, just enough challenge to keep you engaged.
Nice quick walk sorry picture this time
I have seen deer and a mamma bear with 2 Cubs!
Great trails. Very nice woods. Easy trails to walk on.
If you like studying the diversity found in natural places, this one is special. You get to see three different and somewhat unusual native flora in one location: first, giant Rhododendron; second, Atlantic White Cedar; and third, Black gum trees!
NO DOGS ALLOWED!?!?Ridiculous.
Beautiful spot right in the city.
A relaxed environment
No dogs allowed, but a nice park
Awesome nature trail
Cool place
