Cute museum! Would check out to get information about where you live, after moving to Manchester it was fun!
Since moving into a Mill building 2yrs ago in Manchester Ive always wanted to know more about the history of Manchester. Not the negative stuff everyone says about this historic city. The Museum had a little of everything to see. Our forefathers built a great city and this museum shows you that. Highly recommend
Friendly and helpful staff. Great displays of the history of Manchester.
Because no one got back to me so no one has the pictures im looking for how full is that.
Very good service
Much smaller than I anticipated but it was still interesting. They had special closed hours that didnt show up anywhere prior to our arrival so we arrived 2 hours before the special time opening. There is no parking lot just for the museum and so parking is a big challenge.
What a great museum detailing Manchesters early history as well as the period including the cotton Mills start and finish. We highly recommend the museum. And the low admittance fees.
Wonderful place. Beautiful building and great history as well. My goodness all the displays could go on forever and forever. We took so many pictures and the museum keeps changing so its always interesting. Its best to go early because there is so much to see. Great for all ages and see if your local library provides day passes. Manchester did a few years ago. Call both locations to confirm. Would go definitely go again. Plus the childrens science museum was next door as well.
Fine museum with mostly static displays through the history of NH and Manchester. I grew up in Manchester so lots of interesting things. They have interesting world war 1 exhibit. Low cost. I joined as member as planning on attending Feb presentation on The Ledge.
A small yet beautiful museum: they have artifacts predating the European settlement of the region in addition to a wealth of knowledge from the textile industry when it dominated the river banks. The artifacts are extremely well kept and displayed. This is the perfect way to look into the history of Manchester.
Great look at the industrial revolution, have the only pen stock left open that let the water in the building to run the water turbine that mechanically powered the building.
Great place to learn about the Mill! So very cool.
Excellent place to get a concise history of Manchester and surrounding communities.
Great place for you to learn about the area mill company, family had a awesome time, and just upstairs is the science center
It was a wonderful experience. The students learned an awful of important information. Excellent tour guides. Activities were great. Thank you do much.
What a great little museum! Lots of interesting exhibits packed into a small area. Definitely a must while visting Manchester and appreciating its history.
Definitely a must-see in the Manchester area. We spent about 3 hours reading through the exhibit, but some families may not need as much time. I loved that there were so many interactive parts of the exhibit that would interest young children. There were also lots of places to sit down, which my 90-year old grandmother appreciated! You dont see that in many small museums. What a great way to spend a Saturday, so glad we stopped by and learned so much about Manchester.
For more than a century, Manchester was dominated by the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company, whose buildings still define the cityscape of today. One of those buildings is the home of this museum, which presents interesting and notable artifacts from the companys manufacturing heyday. It also describes the companys decline and bankruptcy, and the subsequent revitalization of the area, which continues to this day. If youre interested in local history, definitely check this place out.The museum is one level below ground and was only accessible by elevator during our visit.
A great place to go if you want to find out more information about the Mills that used to dominate the Manchester riverfront
Great place... Few cities our size could have a museum like this, which bodes much for Manchester... History always has something new to say
Good local history museum. Fairly text heavy. Gives a nice overview of a fascinating community.
Great history lesson with this place. My kids loved it.
Nice museum. We enjoyed spending the afternoon studying the displays. Very informative.

This is a must stop if you love history. Tickets are cheap and it doesnt take long to walk through the whole place. They have some amazing nh relics in there.
Excellent small museum. Call ahead for tour times or to make certain they are open.
Fantastic museum of Manchester history. Lots to see and learn in a smaller museum. Take your time and read the signs, look at everything! You will enjoy it.
We can learn something new
Really pretty neat. Being able to look into the canal is really cool and love the steamer
This is a wonderful museum with great historical information about Manchester and the mills.
Well done, great history of the textile mills in Manchester NH. Must see if youre a firefighter or other responder, gorgeous restored antique fire engine this was manufactured in the city.
Very interesting museum, showing the history of NH. From Indigenous people through the industrial revolution. The museum is small but packed full information.
Great story and great presentation. Loved the artifacts!
One of the best exhibits in NH, tour The Millyard Museum and see Manchester history. At entrance, a penstock greets you, once delivering water to turbines powering the mill. Entering the main hall you see the vibrance water power brought to the Queen City. While your are in the building climb the stairs to check out the Millyard Lego Model at the SEE Science Center.
Lots of things to look at. Fun. And gift shop
The Millyard Museum is a fun museum where you can learn all about the history of Manchester and its mills. Its pretty informative about the European history of the city and provides some great artifacts and film reels about the citys history. Its a decent trip for adults and kids.
Surprisingly very interesting and informative. Im glad I went.
Great place to learn history of NH mills
Not as easy to find as one might think. They could use signage to help people find it, and let people know it exists. It was very informative though once I did find it.
Great museum for local Manchester history. Really enjoy the downtown Elm street fronts they have put in place. Seems like they keep adding new exhibits.
