Its a beautiful park. The lake was very calm this morning. There were a few fishermen but it seemed that the fish werent biting when I was there.

My granddaughter asked me to take her on a nature walk, so we jumped in the truck and got a lunch snack and went to Waverly Park. There is a lake for fishing with a group of ducks to feed bread crumbs. A nice fenced in dog walk area, bike and foot trails and best of all... the kids swings are open and working. Its a clean well serviced forest park.

The park has a nice Lake that is stocked with Catfish and trout three times per year.There are hiking trails throughout the park, including a gravel or paved path around the entire Lake.There use to be a couple of port-a-cans but there is now a restroom facility that has been constructed.

Fished out, there are people who live close by that fish there every day possible! Other than the river Kentucky doesnt have naturally formed ponds. They stock trout in the fall months because the fish do better than in the heat. Its a neat little spot though, nice pier. Ill be back. There was a maintenance man picking up trash from the lot, not nearly as bad as some others Ive been to.

Nice picnic area. Fishing lake. Playground. Dog park is nice, but needs grass mowed more often.Bike trails and hiking trails, too.

The park was beautiful and the lake, our dog really enjoyed the dog park area. But there was a lot of drug paraphernalia laying around and it made us nervous to see syringe caps in the woods close to the parking area. Could use some tlc in that aspect.

Really nice mtb trails for the Louisville area. Semi strenuous climbs, but the trails are pretty smooth and not technical so good for beginning riders. Trails are good for running, as well.

This place is so nice.The road there is crazy curvy.But once there it was very nice.Well worth the crazy road to get there.

I went to this park when I was a child and was thoroughly impressed with the changes that had been made from the last time I had been there over 40 years ago. It is well maintained and clean. It has been updated with bathrooms and water fountains for drinking as well as walking paths. There are bike trails. There has been a dock added over the pond/lake to fish from and to see the fish and ducks. There is a small playground for the children that has two swings, 3 slides, climbing rope ladder, and bridge. The park is full of wildlife as well. There are frogs, toads, ducks, geese, lizards, and deer. Definitely a must for a relaxing and fun filled day!

Great little park so close to home.

Nice little oasis in Louisville. Very scenic with trails throughout. Little to no trash. Tried catching bass with an arsenal of lures, no luck but Ill withhold judgment until a few more visits. Would be a great place to take children. Nice and quiet with a little playground near but not too close to the lake.

Love loved it there we had a wedding there and it turned out wonderful. It was clean other people there didnt bother you or interfere its even got a big lake. Very clean friendly environment and you can let your kids play at the play ground and dont have to worry about them finding needles.

A beautiful place to walk around

Hidden gem. Almost always you will find somebody at the fishing pond, but you nearly always have the trails to yourself and a few others. Cant comment on the fishing, but the trails are a great time for hiking, walking pets, trail running or mountain biking.

Great place to take the kids fishing or go for a little hike through the woods

Mountain biking here was very cool. Great exercise for old man like me. I will be back.

Nice park with plenty of trails and a decent lake. Note for anglers: although Ive caught some big largemouth and catfish out of waverly lake, it is HIGHLY pressured.. Id try to find somewhere more lowkey

I was able to get into the dog park at Waverly but a fence was broken that the dogs could get out of. I called the number on the sign and they said that it cost $35 a year to join to be able to use the dog run. FYI

Great park for fishing about 10 different types of fish stocked in the pond there. Saw a kid pull a full stringer of fish he caught back to the car. Fun stuff!!

As a mountain biker, my review is based on that and not necessarily the other parts of the park. They have an amazing network of trails that are great for beginners all the way to Advanced Riders. Lots of climbing but fun rewards on the other side of those climbs. Good technical sections and really great Trail work. The trails are well-thought-out and give a great variety of riding . The park itself is beautiful as well.

Me and my boyfriend had a lovely time here! Fun trails to explore, and over all a nice place to visit. I do recommend it!

I love the pond, paths and forest. It was very beautiful. I loved exploring the woods with my then Girlfriend. The woods was so romantic and beautiful that it influenced my decision to make it the place that I proposed to my now wife. I love this place, its perfect for walks, fishing, exploring nature, and walking your dogs. They even have an enclosure for your dogs, so they dont run off through the woods. The creek that runs through the woods was awesome as well, there is a lot to see. 10/10

This place is best geared to fishermen and mountain bikers. They are trying to make improvements, like a new restroom that was just put in. The road is very steep and windy. Drive carefully. I have not seen as much wildlife in this park as in some others. Beautiful in the fall.

Great trails. If you are going to run the trails get there early because around 10 am there are allot of bikers. No problems sharing the trails, you just have to be aware and ready to let them pass.

Ive loved this park since I was a little girl! And its still so much fun just to slow down for a bit and feed the ducks and geese

Fun park for the kids. 6 swings and a few slides. Theres a walking path thats 1/2 mi next to the playground. Very easy for my 5 & 2 year old children to walk. However, people are not picking up after their dogs defecate. The mountain bike trails are fun and challenging too.

Always beautiful. Paths for pets, bikes, or people ample areas to explore. Nice dog run area (Dont really no the usage policy). A little lake to fish on and enough space that you arent reminded of Thunder of Louisville. Peaceful and serene. Make sure to check for ticks before you get back in your car to leave.
