This is a review of the Jack O Lantern Spectacular only - its a really great event, even with the long waits in line (for me arriving after 9, a solid 1.5 hour wait.) There is section after section of themed pumpkins like saloon, fairy tales, cartoons, space, under the sea, pirate, one after the other each with their own music. Theres even a really touching segment at the end with pumpkins carved for those we lost this year. There is a general scene set with plastic static pumpkins and sets with beautifully carved large pumpkins up front every few feet. They really are amazing!My only beef with the event is that for a family, $35 (nearly $40 with tax) is reasonable, but for a single person in a car, a tourist from out of town with no contacts here, its pretty steep just for one person. And almost the ENTIRE display is oriented to the passenger side of the car. It obviously geared for one person to drive (and not stop) and for the passengers in your car to take pictures and look. But again, for a solo traveler, it was really hard to drive and try to take pictures out of the passenger side window at the same time! Plus it was raining pretty good, so with the passenger side window fully open, I ended up opening up my umbrella to shield the passenger seat and its contents from the rain. I managed, but it was kind of miserable. By the end, I was cold and damp and it was after 11:00 and nowhere was open for me to get a warm drink. I kind came away from it pretty grumpy!It is worth going, but Id like to see what its like on foot with concessions and an opportunity for better pictures.

Love this place....loved riding horses thru the park when I was young... I think they still have stables beautiful place ...evrn has playground area for kiddos..they have courts for hoops and plenty more

This is the nicest park in the city imo. Great trails for running or hiking. Very nice playground. You’ve got an amphitheater, golf course, disc golf course, multiple basketball courts. It’s beautiful there year round as well.

Went to the jack o lantern exhibit. Its amazing. $35 for a car load, and everyone loved it! So much talent!

I have been wanting to come down to the park to attend the Louisville Pumpkin Spectacular for many years, but with the wait times & crowds we never went. This year with the drive thru it was the perfect time to go. What. Neat thing to see!!! Pumpkins everywhere with the most amazing things put on them. We will definitely be back for the winter/Christmas event that starts the end of November.

We went to the JackOLantern Spectacular. It was a feast for the eyes and absolutely blew our minds. Well worth the 2 hour wait in line. They kept it safe by doing a car tour this year and it was fantastic. Beautifully done.

Park kept up well considering restrooms lived in by homeless people who do not give a care one about how they leave them . I commend the city for what they do to keep this park clean and. Trails accessible to all who use it. The disc golf area well maintained as well

Our first visit to this lovely park. Came all the way from Knoxville to attend the Jack O Lantern Spectacular. So impressed with the artistry. We hope to return next year and be able to walk and admire the carvings.

The Jack o Lantern Spectacular was AMAZING! This is a must see at least once. We went on a Thursday arrived at 7pm, and had an hour and 15 minute wait to get it. The attraction itself lasts about 30 minutes. We felt it was worth the wait.

Although not in the greatest area, there are a lot of people who visit. I havent come across any trouble. Most people seem friendly and its a nice place to walk your dogs.

Went for the Jack o lantern spectacular and will definitely be back. It was awesome.

Jack-O-Latern Spectacular was awesome! We picked up pizzas from Blaze and had them while we waited in line. Be prepared for an hour or so wait. So worth it :)

A beautiful park. My favorite of the original Olmsted designed city parks. Been going there since I was a child. Developed, mature woodlands, abundance of wildlife, and shady trails.

The scenery was beautiful but they had people in golf carts moving you along.... one man told us we couldnt stop and take pictures!!We had waited in line almost 3 hours to....o go thru plus paying the fee.... so we took pictures!!He was not nice at all!

I loved the trail seclusion its serene and very enjoyable. Giving me time to relish in the beautiful pleasures of the trees and nature that lives in the forest....a perfect pit stop to take a moment to refocus and slow the scene of the city..thanks cuz the pleasure was def all mine .

Although its changed a lot since I was a kid. Ive been going to the top of iroquois park since the late 80s. The view used to be a lot better due to the trees being smaller, however its still amazing. Great place to take the family. Me and my son used to go a lot now I take my daughter often. Its a must visit.

We went to the pumpkin thing last night and it was BEAUTIFUL!! Major props to the teams and teams of people who spent their time putting all of this together! Very cool designs, (clowns were a bit scary but AWESOME details) My favourite part was the dinosaurs amd then the GIANT pumpkins near the end. Very cool experience! Waited for an hoursh and it took us about 15 minutes to get through. Cool stuff!

Great park. Good hills. Enjoy running here. Pumpkin Glow was amazing. Worth the wait.

So I should first mention that the photos for this review were from the annual Jack O Lantern spectacular which is held at night so being able to see the park and critique everything is slightly skewed, however I have been to Iroquois Park a few times previously and I have really enjoyed it each time. The park is large and perfect for some outdoor fitness. Theres an outdoor amphitheater that is absolutely beautiful when lit up at night. We had a great time and we will be back.

My family had such a fun time at Iroquois Park for the Halloween pumpkin display. It was a unique and beautiful display-- I totally recommend!

Took my family for a hike. It was decent. Nice trail but there was trash strewn throughout. We have a 3-year old so it was a bit annoying to tell her to avoid the litter in the forest. I don’t know what the park could do but it seemed to me like that was a maintenance issue that may have been overlooked thanks to the pandemic

There is so much that goes on here that everyone needs to check out. Plus they have beautiful trail rides and beautiful scenery.

Wish this gem was COMPLETELY opened to the ENTIRE public like it was in the old days when we could drive to the top. Now that my wife and I are disabled, and the front road closed, we cant even enjoy a ride all the way around the bottom. So sad.

The pumpkin walk is worth the wait.

We spent two and a half hours in line for the jack-o-lantern spectacular and the park was absolutely gorgeous! Sans these two weirdos giving a Weezer karaoke concert, of course....

I love this park. Have been bringing my kids here since they were little. Now I bring my grandkids and the new water feature is family fun for everyone.

I went to see The Jack-o-lantern Spectacular, it was drive thru this year, I loved it!, A lot of very nice pumpkins.

Its never to crowded, I can walk my little dog without worrying about running into any problems and the trails are easy, fun and peaceful.I visit at least 5days a week.

From pumpkins in The fall, lights and music all holiday season, and not to mention the v>ew you have to at least see once in your lifetime to know the experience yourself. There is plenty to experience as well as explore.

Halloween Spectacular is an excellent event to get out and enjoy an festival family night. Theres plenty of free lighted parking assisted with plenty of parking attendants. Several excellent staff members and volunteers to assist you with any of your needs. The park is provided with high visibility of security and police officers. Great event.

Went tonight 10/9 w friends to night which is thru October. It was amazing!!! Check website for details. Ticket price is per car, no walk thru this year. Long wait to actually enter, 2 hr but so worth it! About 30 minute drive thru, hundreds of carved pumkins, themed sections was so fun!! A couple of stops where portapotties avail. Go early for line wait but best if enter after might fall. Great time for family entertainment!!

This should be obvious but dont go there at night. I went to see the meteor shower and a car of young people showed up, wandered off, and withing ten minutes I started hearing gunshots not far away and got out of there fast.Otherwise a great park, just stay away at night. Closes at 10 should be closes at sundown.

I only saw it at night. There was a pumpkin patch there when we went. A lot of really cool professionally done pumpkins. All in all, a really nice place!

Went to play disc golf. Theyve cleared a lot of the underbrush and moved some of the baskets. Its made some of the holes easier. But overall a good course.

Nice park. They have some trails and a lot of places to relax. I have been here a few times to have a picnic. My dog loves the trail I have taken him on, and everyone Ive come into contact with here is very friendly. The only reason I have it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it could use some serious landscaping. The trail isnt overgrown but there is a lot of fallen trees to the side. There could be some effort into making it nicer, but all in all a nice place!

Great place for walking with family or the pets.

My favorite place for a challenging walk/run in the city. Paths and trails are wide and well maintained, though, the trailheads could be a little more well marked. Great playground and water park for kids. Play equipment, jungle gym included, is wheelchair accessible and there are adult size swings with secure, hard plastic harnesses for individuals with special needs.

Worth the Wait in Line

The Disc Course (ha) is tough as F. Any par achieved by this Dude is worthy of a Caucasian after 18 arduous holes.

I rated Iroquois Park a four-star because Iroquois park is in a sketchy part of town where there are shootings and stabbings going on but if you are with a group of people and you have something to protect yourself you should be fine and if you do get a chance to go I recommend you do because if you get to the top of the hill you can see an amazing view of all of Louisville. So yeah to wrap it all up I highly recommend this place. But like I said please come with a group of people or something to protect yourself.

Nature. While hiking through the park I came upon 5 beautiful Does grazing and then ran into two more times. Also, I enjoyed all of the variety of birds as well as the views of the city off in the distance.

We drove through Iroquois Park in mid-November 2019 and it was just beautiful. The leaves had turned brown but that created a rich hue that was absolutely gorgeous. I had not been there in years. The lookout was closed but we weren’t disappointed. The walkers and drivers were all respectful and conscious of safety. A lovely drive.

My daughter always has a wonderful time here no matter if she is playing on the playground with the other kids or if we are climbing the hill to get to the lookout... Theres always a great time to be had here.

I was at Iroquois Park in October for the pumpkin trail which its self is something you cant miss but the park is lovely and huge so a nice hide away right outside the city. Its only down fall is parking not getting in but getting out it took a solid 10 minutes of driving in circles in the grass there are no signs or people letting you know a little stressing but youll figure it out eventually.

Fun family friendly park, even while the playgrounds are closed!
