Great to visit. 18th and early 19th century structures. Farm. Trails to hike. This state nature preserve is special. The Tyler family lived here.

Beautiful grounds perfect for little kids. The draw of the animals coupled with some nice hikes makes this site seem new every visit. Our family loves it here.

The donkey’s ankles were raw and bleeding and the horses had raw spots where their harnesses were. Awful.

Blackacre is a hidden jewel! Over ten years ago, I started bringing children to the homestead during the summer where they enjoyed playing in the over 200 year old barn and exploring their grounds. We would pack a lunch, have lunch along Jackson Hole pond, sketch nature and play for hours. Sometimes we would bring carrots for the horses and goats to eat. Its always great to see the two old donkeys, Taco and Salsa.

Blackacre is a hidden gem in Louisville. The staff are absolutely out-of-this-world amazing—the best hosts/guides one could ever ask for—Dale, Ally, Farmer Larry, the whole crew could not have been more accommodating and generous during my two-week stay here. If youre looking for gorgeous views and a refreshing getaway, this is really your spot. Im jealous of everyone who lives close enough to regularly enjoy such a scenic and peaceful preserve.

Sad to hear you now require photographers to pay to take photos here. We asked our photographer if we could do the photos here and she said she was required to pay a fee. But thankfully Louisville is full of beautiful free parks.
