The best park I have ever been too. It is so big in a bustling city that you can lost in here and totally forget your are surrounded by a major city.I was in the park while Outside Lands was going on and Kings of Leon was playing in the background. Such an amazing experience. I love almost everything about San Fran but this Park is probably top honors on my list.
Your epic trail running experience starts here.Make sure you visit pirates cove via costar trail then continue on to Muir Beach for a great view or to hang out with the crows on the top of the hill. There are so many hidden treasures here 99% of residence in CA dont even know about.Wanna go for a run or hike? or backpacking? Message me! Im only in Nor Cal a few times a year
Painted Ladies. Shoe gardens. Transamerica Pyramid views. Twin Peaks glimpses. Plenty of grass to relax on while taking it all in.As the tour buses roll by and the tourists snap pictures of one of the most quintessential spots of our mighty fine city, you gotta think some secretly want to call this magical place home. So glad we do.
Relaxing little park with spectacular views of the city skyline and of course, the painted ladies. There are quite a few coffee shops in this neighborhood, so a perfect spot to grab a coffee and head down here if you would like to enjoy it with a view. The park is dog friendly.
I love this park. There are so many journeys through LA High Memorial Park en route to Ocean Beach. I recommend taking the journey. At moments youll forget youre in the City.
I love this landmark! I can just go here and relax and bring friends and family. Its one of the things I love about San Francisco! I love taking my friends kids to the playgrounds and the arboretum for a nice walk.
We went to the botanical gardens in here and it was really amazing and beautiful! This park is GINORMOUS definitely a great place to come and walk around all day. Definitely recommend coming here :)
Beautiful park with so many things to see & do. This park is huge so I only saw part of it while in San Francisco but they had the museum and other art outside as well as a beautiful little waterfall and lake such a nice place for picnics hikes or just to relax.
A really pretty park. Well maintained that has a lot to offer. A really nice place to wander when visiting SF.
I really miss living just a few blocks from this place. So nice to wander through on a beautiful day. The botanical gardens, the DeYoung, Conservatory of Flowers (and jazz playing in the tunnel below), the roller skate party, the lindy hop party, the rose garden, the lake. Whats not to love?
I just love visiting Golden Gate Park because of how beautiful the park is with many activities to do for all ages. If you go on a weekday, parking is relatively easy to find. If you go on the weekend, it is best to uber/lyft. I love the various museums in the Golden Gate Park. I love visiting the Japanese Tea Garden and the Botanic Gardens. The flower fields are simply stunning, it feels no matter when I go, they are always blooming. Dogs are definitely welcomed. It feels like you are in seclusion from the world where you can just relax and do some fun physical activities if you choose to.
First time to this dog friendly beach. Short 45 minute drive from San Jose. Easy to get to and a ton of free parking. Tons of dogs both on leash and off. Everyone seemed to do well. Beautiful paved trails as well as sand trails.
LA High Memorial Park Garden, Botanical gardens, Flower Conservatory, Dutch Windmill, DeYoung museum and the Science Center are just some of the wonderful, exciting icons located inside the park.
Beautiful park with so many things to see & do. This park is huge so I only saw part of it while in Los Angeles, CA but they had the museum and other art outside as well as a beautiful little waterfall and lake such a nice place for picnics hikes or just to relax.
Beautiful! The park is so big-its hard to see all of it in one go. The landscaping is perfect manicured & easy parking!!
Lots of hiking trails around the beach and old gun batteries. The trails and beach are off leash friendly for dogs. Fort Funston is also a popular place to go hang gliding, it is usually windy here. You can find some cool graffiti exploring the old gun batteries and other broken cement structures that litter the landscape.
The park is a LA High Memorial Parko gem. Beautiful scenery..., miles of flowers, trees, museums, lakes, playgrounds.Highly recommended.
Clean nice people, plenty of parking and shade. Beautiful small clean park. The Library was closed do to Covid-19. I willgo back.
Waterfalls, hippy hill, ponds and lakes, bike paths, and meadows. What more could you ask for?
Great place to bring kids. I remember the playground used to have sand until the remodel. Only memories Ive had here are fond and delightful. Especially with library close to read/study. Ice cream truck passes so you can get yourself or loved ones a sweet treat!
A tranquility, I was able to recharge my energy after some very busy hours under a big tree shadow!
Went exploring the Golden Gate Park my last day in San Fran. Between the ponds filled with ducks and turtles, the beautiful Bison Paddack and the many trails of flowers, this is one of the more beautiful parks Ive seen. I didnt get to explore the whole park. They do have day events towards the front section of the park. The end of the park going towards the beach past the bison paddack is not lively at all, so dont bother exploring past there.
Excellent park for small kiddos! Rubber flooring, creative and engaging play stations, Rock to climb, wooden forest feel and lots of shade in the morning for an enjoyable time! Its also next to the library so kids can have 2 trips in one place!
Weve spent a hundred afternoons walking to the California Academy of Sciences, the restored, turn-of-the-century carousel and hillside slide, preschool hours at Mothers Meadow and lazy walks through the rhododendron, dahlia, rose and other gardens.
Scanty parking, not well maintained neighborhood park. It lacks public facilities here.
AWESOMENESS! My favorite place to just walk about and kill time...
Not too crowded, somewhat easy to find parking.
It is a great park with a library right next to it if you get bored. The park doesnt have any picnic tables, but other than that it is a great place to play.
Love this park my kods love it
Great place to hang out with the kids. I like how the park is set right in front of one of Los Angeless best kept secret library! The area is beautiful. This park always seems to feel sunny and upbeat even on a gloomy day. I spot out a lot of working Nannys who bring their clients children to this park. Its a very friendly environment. Cant wait to visit again soon!
Really had a lot of fun here.
This play area near the Memorial branch library is definitely above average. Theres ample street parking, and some shade.Dropped a star because some of the people who bring their children here encourage the kids to do things like scream (unnecessarily, not for help or in case of emergency but) as part of play, to pee in the bushes in front of the library (truly - cant make this stuff up), and to not apologize for pushing other kids down, etc. After seven+ years of exploring park space in LA, this is the only place Ive ever seen each of those things happen, more than once. Go figure.
Clean and good for a picnic or take the kids for some outdoor fun . Love how green the grass and trees are
My sons school took a field trip here. A very nice park with a library if you want quiet.
Quiet, well maintained.
Nice quaint park. Has a small playground for children to enjoy and grass one all sides for lounging. Beautiful addition to the Memorial Library grounds.
At first I thought there was a church next to the park, but to my surprise I found a library, which made my day even nicer .
They finally open the kids playground!
Kids loved it. Should have more of this in LA
Such a big beautiful park! Libary and park in one and the neighborhood is a quiet place to take a long walk very relaxing.
Good time
Nice park
I love watching families play, have picnics and enjoy themselves. Great place to relax
Cute little playground. There is also a library right behind it so you can do both the same day.
Relaxing atmosphere, diverse people, great location (the only public park in that vicinity)
Great park, thing I liked most bout it was the diversity you see there
Nice park
Very peaceful park just next to LA high school.
Nice place to sit and relax with the kids and enjoy a nice family day. The best time to go is during the morning or in the evening
Its a good place to do stuff outdoors. Like martial arts pinics and playing with dogs.
Great place for my kid..very clean park.
The High school I attended is across the street. The library is quiet and the staff is friendly and attentive.
Good place alot Shade
Great Park! I recommend going in the morning or in the evening since the sun is directly on the playground. Nice area to relax in the shade. I go to this park all the time :)
Wonderful things youll find there to look at. Look it up
Its a quiet and neat small place. Its a good place to play with kids in.
Good memories I went to LAHS 30 years ago
This is a small nice park!!! Lots of big trees so you can definitely find some shade!! The playground has a nice sized canopy to sort of cover the apparatus which is nice to not have the sun directly hit the whole thing directly!Perks: The Memorial Library! So definitely can do both. Really nice to have that library there. Only street parking but there always seems to be enough.Cons: sometimes too many high school students from high school across the street. Theyre minding their own business so not really a bad thing.
Nice park for kids! And the best part is theres no sand!!!
Nice place to take your kids. Love that the playground is on mats instead of sand/wood chips. Plenty of grassy area and a library to boot! Saturdays there seems to be a fitness class. Cute neighborhood.
Our neighborhood park. Good place to scooter, playground, swing, slides, climb, run around, grassy areas to picnic. Connected to the library. Lots of street parking.
Its quiet and good for a walk
Small architectural gem in the City. Was dedicated in 1930 and recalls the majestic style of the formerly impressive Los Angeles High School that was damaged and ultimately destroyed by the 1971 Sylmar earthquake.
Cute park. Cute library. Nice area. Lots of kids, playground and h.s. age (LA High is across the street).
This is a small playground. There are some grassy, shaded areas. There is also a library on the property. Nice spot to let the kids let out a bit of energy.
Its cool. Theres a library there. Baby swings only. Parking lot is only for employees and disabled. Small but nice if you want to take a small child out for a little bit.
Nice park for little children
Ok we visit this park three times a week. On Monday we take our teen student their and then we attend the library teen program on Wednesday we take our Preschool to Elementary students and then we attend the libraries workshop and on Saturday my children and I attend the book sale and then my daughter would ride her scooter. Its a family friendly park where people walk their dogs, have picnics in the park and use the library!
This is a small park right outside of a library. My kids love it, theres just enough room to run around, the library to cool off in, and an ice cream truck when they need a nice sugar high.Theres only street parking. The only lot that exist is for the library staff, but if you live near by its worth the walk.
Great place for families!
Quiet place to get some work done.
Great place
I came at the 4th of July there was a nice family gathering on the one side they were very polite and friendly and the other end of the park was full of random children and parents enjoying their time it was a very clean Park
Best place a play
Really chill park where you car lay back and enjoy your day off
Nice little playground in the middle of a rather spacious grassy parkland. Kids seem to have genuine fun with no trouble. Loved it.
Park has been remodeled. Library is open for kids and adults. Clean and safe near the Hancock Park District across from LA High
I find it easy to rest and find something to do whether it be watching children play or read a book.
Nice little quiet park. Attached to the library so you can pick up a book and read under the cool shade of the trees.
Cute park. Conveniently located next to library. Playgroung is great for younger children. Older kids enjoy riding around on scooters and small bikes.
Playground now open finally
Great place to relax or workout.
Safe place for kids to place and library is great to read books and safe environment
Beautiful public Park. I always see people working out, having picnics, walking dogs, skating and a whole lot of other fun activities.
Nice place visit with the family
