This recently opened park (as of 2018) was lovely, with plenty of green space, restrooms, and dog-friendly (they must be on a leash). Typically very quiet, during a pandemic holiday, it was teeming with families and visitors. The Metro Gold line runs right past, and Chavez Ravine is just west...you can see Dodger Stadium’s lights. Perfect for a picnic or a place to exercise. Enjoy your local parks!

Its not big, but this park is like a small, peaceful, grassy oasis. Perfect for a picnic, a workout, or a short walk. It closes each night which is unfortunate since you cant stay long after sunset, but it also ensures the there are no homeless and that it feels extremely safe. Free parking as well.

Came by to enjoy the scenery from the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge. This place does live up to the hype of TripAdvisors #1 Tourist spot in CA!It was pleasantly unwindy and crowds were light upon arrival late morning. Parking was available and the scenery was beautiful!...bring some pastries and enjoy the scenery and hike up to the top!No admission fee or parking charges either!

Had a great time hiking Runyon Canyon and seeing all the doggies on the trail. The climb was mild-moderate difficulty and has a great view of the city even though we went on a fairly foggy day. Everyone on the trail was so nice and we struck up conversation with a few groups and took pictures for each other. Parking was a little challenging but we ultimately found street parking on Fuller Ave.

Beautiful views of the city and beyond. I came here on a Saturday afternoon, so there was definitely a large amount of people trying to walk, drive, bike and park all over the place. I passed the first few turnouts and opted to park farther up the road and walk back to the trail I wanted to take me to Kirby Cove.I live locally in the East Bay and love to plan a day to come here and explore, and then hit up some of my favorite spots in Los Angeles.

Took my little boy to Fort Funston today aka Doggy Heaven and it did not disappoint! He absolutely loved it! He decided he was a mountain climber and went for his first mini swim and played with all sorts of dogs and got SO dirty that we both needed a bath and a 4 hour nap when we came home but it was worth it. Cant wait to take him back!

Simply having a small walk is one of my personal favorite things to do along the vicinity. At times it can be crowded, therefore I suggest to go around the less popular days during the workweek. Great place for a live concert! We visited for Odesza and I would happily return. There’s a great way to actually take in concerts for free, by just parking on the side of the park that’s on the hill, above the train tracks. Great place to walk & enjoy the outdoors with an awesome view of DTLA. Plenty of parking spaces available, they have numerous park benches & tables throughout to sit down & relax along with trash receptacles for those who choose to walk their pets. Im a pet owner myself & the only thing that can become a nuisance is the irresponsible pet owners who choose to walk their dogs without picking up after them. So make sure when you do walk here to scan your path, last thing you want to experience is stepping in dog feces & smelling it all the way home due to a lazy pet owner.

Los Angeles State Historic Park provides an extraordinary opportunity for recreation and education in the heart of Los Angeles. Often referred to as “Central Park of Los Angeles,” within its 32 acres of open space directly adjacent to Chinatown, park visitors can wander pathways and enjoy a view of downtown, as well as discover and celebrate the natural and cultural heritage of Los Angeles. Some of the parks amenities include bathrooms, water fountain, and benches. Plenty of street parking available. You can run, walk, ride a bike, have a picnic, fly a kite and even look for urban wildlife such as birds traveling down the Pacific flyway. You can see the Metro Gold line pass through the park. Overall, its a good place to hangout, do fun activities and watch the sunset.

Pros - beautiful views, long track for running/walking, picnic areas, trees to lay in the shade under, bathrooms, drinking fountains, elevated viewing area, ample paid parking, adjacent free street parking, visible ranger presence, friendly staff/management, clean and well maintainedCons - no crosswalk on spring/pedestrian hazard, hours are wildly random, bathrooms are frequently closed, several of the pedestrian gates are never open forcing visitors to enter through the active driveways, festivals usage seems poorly managed, notifications of festivals and events are not posted to notify visitors of future closures, grass has been dead the majority of the time that the park had been open (this may be because the water is coming from the LA river but if it’s the water killing the grass than how safe is it for the kids to play on)I work across the street and take walk my dog in the park at least once a day for the past 6 years. The new park has definitely major upgrade from the previous one, but there are several areas that could use improvement.

Was here for 2 music events, both at night. Both were well run and the venue itself... the park that is, is an awesome place to see a show because it’s roomy and outside and there is a little hill out in front of the main stage that makes watching fun and relaxing. — not sure how it rates for a daytime park but for concerts is awesome (and generally don’t like concerts)
