Beautiful and big. Has a rocky beach but mostly smooth. An area for swimming and lots of room for watercraft. Main issue, ladies pay attention, the toilets are permanent Porta potty. The paint on the metal toilet is wearing off and rusty.

Usually is not so packed but today was almost 100° so it was a little crowded

The lake is great but they dont enforce correct parking! It was very frustrating when a young Mom was trying to leave with her children and she couldnt because someone boxed her car in 3 deep! And when we were leaving because it was waaaay too crowded, my wife had to try to stop traffic at the top because people illegally parked and it was down to 1 lane in and out! They need to enforce better.

Great place for kayaking. Beautiful, not deep. Lots too see and do.

My summer spot

Great spot to blow up your floaties and chill for a few. Watch the soldiers jump out of helicopters and bald eagles. Many of them. It is truly an American lake.

Fun place to bring family.. just remember to use the bathroom BEFORE to arrive. SUPER GROSS restrooms

Boat ramp is wide enough for 2 trucks at a time and theres space to unload kayaks or other small craft next to the ramps. Can get quite busy on nice days

It’s a beautiful Lake!! The water is clean and perfect temp in the summer! We love taking our boat out all summer. Just remember you drive counter clockwise!!!

This is good launch with lots of parking most days but it gets crowded quickly with nice weather!

Good launch site, if busy prepare to fight for parking then a fight to get out.

Too many people half of them dont know how to drive a boat the other half dont know what a no-wake zone is and theres really no place to fish other than that it was a beautiful day

When I want to enjoy a day on American Lake I usually launch my boat at the American Lake boat launch because there’s a lot of room and easy to access

Nice boat launch, but you cant see the ramp (there are two) until you crest the hill at the top. Your boat may or may not be centered. It would be nice if they were marked with uprights so you can back your boat in right the first time.

Ive been going here since I was a child. Even when I dont catch fish I still continue to come back. Its very relaxing nice to go to Bills boathouse and still see it here. Prices are kind of high but its a nice place

Beautiful and easy to use. Get there early though as the wait time increases to 30 minutes just to get the boat in the water after 10 am.

Well maintained dual boat launch not common everywhere Only complaint is wish bass tournaments boats would stage accordingly past cement pillars their boats so everyone can launch nd stage not just them specially during the hotter months

If it wasnt for the terrible trash build up I would rate this a 5. Lots of boats for rent, plenty of shore spots, and absolutely beautiful to visit

Way over priced and law enforcement can be selectively overzealous at times. If youre launching your $100,000 boat, expect a positive experience. If youre trying to take the 12 foot smokercraft out to take the kids fishing, expect to get hassled for any possible/imagined infraction.They do not allow fishing off the docks at any time.

Beautiful place to visit for lunch. Not only did we see a nesting pair of eagles fishing, but we also got to see the Army doing parachute water drops.

Will never drive this dusty, one way road to this launch again. Close off I-5 but if you want a dust and dirt covered boat after leaving the water and have to come so close to other boaters entering or leaving the launch on the much to narrow entrance gravel road then this is the launch for you.Will be using the west launch from now on.

Super busy but everything flowed well

A decent place to launch a boat. Two ramps and a place for people to enjoy the beach and go swimming. Kids seem to love the place. Department Of Fish and wildlife parking permit required or a discovery pass.

Great for launching any type of watercraft. Pleanty of free parking for rigs and trailers. You must have a Discover Pass or the parking pass that comes with your fishing license to park here. Gets busy during Summer, but people tend to be patient and follow the rules. #LetsGuide #LocalGuides

Good boat launch.

Lakewoods Boat Launch is very special to us. Thanks to the Park Department, there is a park with restrooms that are cleaned. We buy yearly pass for boat trailer. Try American Lake. its one of larger Lakes in Western Washington.

Beautiful lake! Boat launch is nice with plenty of parking. The only bad is the parking lot is gravel and if people drive over the recommended speed they make ALOT of dust. The restrooms are absolutely disgusting. I literally got sick as soon as I opened the door!!

2 small ramps, no dock, on a gravel shore so plan on getting wet and beaching the boat. Bathrooms are so gross no one (even grown men) wont use them. But of you have a aluminum or old boat it will get you on the water.

We go here at least twice a week in the summer. Sometimes there are poeple fishing on the boat ramps. There is no launch fee but you need a discover pass. There is no dock.

The launch itself is good, not very steep compared to the north one. Lots of parking, and feels secluded. There are zero garbage cans at this entire launch/beach front. Bathrooms were not maintained at all, and toilets need to be emptied bad. Tons of fishing line along the shore, some with weights, I even found a few with hooks. Lots of garbage laying around, due to lazy people and lack of garbage cans.

Nice lake to fish, check out your boat, ski, or swim. For the Tillicum launch you need a Discovery Pass. Ft Lewis launch is $5.00, Lakewood is apps $12.00.
