Beautiful piece of nature. Garbage is the only problem and folks walking their dogs dont pick up after their pets. Its funny how some guys reviewed this place as not safe when the school right across the street have the kids walking the trails constantly. Ive walked my dog here since he was a puppy and its safe enough for a 8 year old to walk by themselves.
The park itself is quite nice. Lots of tall, shady trees full of song birds. Its especially beautiful in the spring when the leaves turn a dark, lush shade of green and flowers are blooming. Parts of it feels almost other worldly, as if youre alone and deep inside a hidden forest. The problem is its local inhabitants. All around the park in far corners are homeless encampments. At times, they become visible by pushing a shopping cart across the trail or leaving behind their trash. Some nearby residents routinely walk their dog and do not pick up their dogs wastes, so you have to constantly be aware of what you might step on. The parking lot section usually contain people idle in their cars, doing drugs or eating fast food. However, on most non-rainy days the park is quite nice. Just make sure you dont go it alone.
Safe place, right across is the Lakewood Police Department. Very close to the YMCA, in which is temporary close. If you love a straight trail like Stelicom park, this is an open trail. Very many parking and Great walking distance to keep your cardinal going. Great place to move around and safe.
Its and good place to go and think
I didn’t feel safe here because I saw a lot of people just sitting idle in their cars doing nothing but hanging around. I was with my friend who is a man but I wouldn’t recommend for women walking alone. Will not go back as the trail was heavily littered and not maintained. Has the potential to be a nice trail because of the tall beautiful trees but it’s not up kept
Great little trail, short and peaceful, passes by a few major retailers and the police station so its safe and convenient.
Nice trail for an escape from the city. Not full of transients and litter. Good hike for nature walk.
It’s a bit sketch out there on the trail. The trail is about a mile long and there is a police station across the street. I don’t think I’ll ever be back just because there are way nicer and safer parks out here.
Lots of broken glass and garbage which made me a little uneasy walking with my 2 year old. But if you just look up it’s a nice stroll!
A lot of trash. Needs a clean. Otherwise super pretty!
I can see why some people wouldnt recommend it. Its a little shady looking and kind of scary to run or walk on at first. But for me, its exactly what I was looking for. Its quiet, shaded, secluded, and the perfect size to run a few times.
A relaxing stroll
Lovely place
Definitely homeless camping out here. Regulars are there every morning in the parking lot doing trades, just isnt the safest. Safer to walk on the sidewalk of the street where people can see you. Its maybe too wooded and brambly for a city park? Which I know defeats the purpose of a park. But it is currently not a place people can enjoy because it provides so much privacy for the homeless camping there and thats a shame because it is close to the YMCA, a senior center, a private school, and a police station....it should in all rights be a great and safe park. I hope it is part of the citys plan to do something about it in the future.
Give it a miss. 1/3 of the walk is next to an apartment complex and 1/3 is next to the road. My wife didn’t feel comfortable walking alone. It’s worth the extra drive to go to Chambers Bay or somewhere else.
I like to walk here but not safe to leave car had a big rock busted out my car window.
Lots of homeless people. No access to the tiny bit of water that is there to fish. Lame.
Heavily vandilized, with tons of homeless people in the summer months. Go in the winter when its flooded and there are fewer people camping in the middle of the wetlands.
Seeley Lake Park is a swamp encircled by business roads and apartment complexes. A gravel trail runs the circumference and is an easy walk, though one half of the view at any given time is the aforementioned infrastructure. There is a brief length of trail with water on both sides, where the ambient traffic noise is almost indistinguishable, but this blessing is canceled out by the copious amounts of trash littering the entire park. Its clear that the park is a hot spot for homeless encampments and has probably hosted a number of late night drunk high school student gatherings. I visited during early March, before most of the flora has returned. I would anticipate the experience being significantly more enjoyable during and after the Spring blooming period, as the greenery will further dull the traffic noise and cover up the unfortunate garbage situation.
Love the trails around the park, great place to run.
We had about an hour left until the movie. We were too full after lunch and had to look for something to do outdoor. As I didnt know the area much, I googled around to find things to do. This park looked good on the map with a little pond.By the entrance of park, few parking spaces were available, but there was only one car parked at 2PM in a sunny weather. We jogged by a trail, however, after jogging for 5 minutes as we entered the park more, it was a bit scary because no one was around but a pair of shoes left behind on the floor. We also face a shopping cart parked on the way with a full of something.Although a police station is located right next to the park, I probably wont consider re-visiting the park.
Bring your bug spray & your stick to beat the homeless plus cell phone just in case. Not a bad park but a wet oneGood news in 10,000 years it will turn into coal.
Great place to stretch your legs, grab some fresh air, take in the sites.
Nicely groomed and very flat. Biggest downfall is the litter.
A nice little nature walk
Beautiful ️ Park if you are I. The area I highly recommend you stop by and visit you will not regret it!
Beautiful wooden trails. So peaceful!
The walk was very nice. I couldnt help but want to clean it up some though.
Good if you are close and dont have alot of time. Its kind of disappointing in that its not well maintained as far as litter goes. Also the walkers on this trail tend to ignore the no smoking policy for parks unlike most other parks Ive walked in. Not a very peaceful place to walk either, lots of traffic noise.
The perfect place to walk your dog. The trail is about a mile long, so you can take your dog on as many cycles as you like. Mostly in the shade. Id probably only visit the place during daylight hours, though. Seems like druggies might use some of its nooks to shoot up. Save enough I think of you have a decent dog. Or if youre armed. Wouldnt recommend it to women walking alone.
This park is great because it forces you to run faster so that you can get back to your car before someone breaks into it.
Just a scenic loop. Pretty though. Nice if you just wanna walk a trail. Couple spots were muddy. I would suggest stsying on the main path, seems like homeless stay out there. Is one picnic table but not on the trail or anything.
Cool little trail, kid friendly.
Lakewood has some phenomenal parks, and this is one of them.
Its pretty
The water is grey and the homeless tents are not inviting. I hope Lakewood plans to do something more.
Quiet n relaxing place to chill n unwind
Ive been here in the winter and it was kind of gross, the fall though the trees are gorgeous. Homeless scattered throughout and bad smells take away from the experience though
Its a swamp with a nice trail behind the lakewood community center, i see homeless people their kinda sketchy.
Pretty meh. The trail needs some serious work - not well maintained, flooded, fencing behind peoples houses does not adequately keep dogs contained and does not make me feel safe to walk there. The building is also kind of old, but I suppose its functional.
Seems just like a dirt trail with a bunch of scumbags on it. As soon as I got out of the car to walk my dogs, some piece of garbage accuse me of taking a photo of his car and then called me a junkie. I’m a guy walking five dogs in the middle of the day and this loser called me a junkie. I saw a bunch of other miscreant types around. I wouldn’t go there without your pepper spray or whatever protection you carry. A little funny because the police station is a half a block away from it. I saw a bunch of junkies, but no police :-)
This place was gross and creepy there was trash in a lot of places and overgrowth was barely cut back from trail there is evidence of homeless and clear drug use in the area I am appalled that such a place is next to the police station. Don’t bring your children, don’t go during the evening and protect yourself.
I went during the day, during the week. Felt so unsafe i didnt even get out of the car. I was clearly the only one who wasnt there to buy and/or use drugs. Tons of drug use- in broad daylight. This needs a major cleanup
Nice place for the kids.
Awesome for walks. Its a nice outdoor area.
From the community center parking lot the trail is exactly 1.2 mile. It cuts close to nearby apartment and you can smell all kinds of stuff from garbage to delicious cooking. LoL! Its ok for walking but the trail is too short for me to jog or run. As other had expressed in their review, it needs routine & random patrol by officers.
It was more on a nature trail then a park, tbh.
Friends who live there their pool great nice clean
Nice place to walk, or walk the dog...
I felt really unsafe there. We left, I was glad I brought my big dog with me. People tend to back up when they see Zeus.
Dirty with random trash and clothing by homeless. Definitely only passing through during the day time. Might be a good short run or jog spot
Nice nature spot
Great place for peace ofMind
I absolutely love this place. its a nice place to walk though the trials.
Nice little loop you can walk around the water. They have geocaches and its kept looking nice.
This is a pleasant 1 mile or so walk around the lake, well it is more of a drainage marsh. Homeless are starting to car camp in the parking lot and others are setting up camp in the far corners
A little ghetto and lots of homeless.
Nice place to relax
Tried walking the park with my dog and wife. Path was flooded out and couldnt complete loop. Lot of trash and panhandler reeking of pot from Seeley Lake lodge (Greater Lakes Mental Health) next door
I live close to this park and decided to walk down and check it out. Half of it is flooded, there is trash and clothing everywhere, druggies insisted on talking to me both times I walked by them. I felt so unsafe that I cut my walk in half and rushed home. Couldnt even keep my headphones in for fear of someone sneaking up on me.
Lots of trails. Fun park
It could use some cleaning up.
Secret circle!
Fun
Littered with beer cans and plastic bottles.
Nothing spectacular
Path winds along busy road and then behind the Big Lots. Also super flooded so not a good winter adventure.
Relaxing environment
Relaxing day off
Homeless man came and sat next to us whole eating lunch
Good park.
A lot of trash
Great walking loop
My home
This park has Wabbits :)
Great park...
Piece of crap owners
More like a trashy walking trail surrounding a swamp.
