A nice sized park with two separate sections. People are friendly at the park. Option to walk the golf course after to really tire out your fur baby. Owners seem to pick up their dogs poop more than most dog parks in the area. Fresh water always available with a pump on site. Dog poop bags are available as well.

This park is perfect for my dog with anxiety. It is HUGE and allows for us to walk off-leash and approach other dogs in a very low-stress way. There are several entrances each with the safety, second area to let the dog off leash before entering. There is water and poop bags. It was very busy on the weekend, so parking was tight, but there was still plenty of room in the dog park.

Favorite park in town! I like to walk my dog around the trails before going into the dog park to let her play, since shes still a wild puppy and her energy sometimes overwhelms other dogs. All the dogs and people who go here are really friendly. The park is well maintained and my dog loves the flowing water dish.

My favorite dog park in the area. My dogs always have great experiences here, occasionally a dog or two may get rough, but for the most part owners keep a close eye on their pups. This park is HUGE is great for taking laps around. Small agility area. Water onsite.

Large park with separate area for smaller dogs. Also has set aside time on Sunday morning in the small area just for greyhounds to run which I have never seen anywhere else!! Not a lot of trees or shade but there is water supply during warmer months for the dogs. Water is shut off in winter so pipes dont freeze

My two corgi puppies had a great first trip to the dog park! There were not any aggressive dogs while I was there. Also if it starts to rain a bit there is a covered area as well as a big tree that covers an area. There is a water available in the dog park area as well.plenty of trash cans to throw garbage away. Cant wait to take them back.

The park is huge, most people clean up after their dogs, it has several spots for off leash with your dogs, and there is a small area in the off leash part that has a few agility/obstacles. It also has a big field, has a forest and a lake, it has a play ground, and they host events and farmers markets here. Expect a lot of people to be here on days with good weather.

A little bit out of the way for us as were from Puyallup, but its our preferred park to take our pup. Huge open spaces inside two fenced areas to separate the big and small dogs. There are trails and a few seating areas in each. There is also a water fountain for them to drink from when they get thirsty.

Dog heaven. Pet owners are attentive and, for the most part, pretty sane. Rich mix of people of all kinds and very wide range of all types of dogs, big to small, lean to chubby, outgoing to shy, runners to play fighters, and puppies to cranky older curs. There are interconnected fields, all secured with double gates with donated poop bags in dispensers and plenty of garbage cans around the perimeters. One field is particularly for small dogs, but this is not a hard fast rule. If your dog is having a hard time or youre feeling crowded, one of the smaller fields is perfect as a little refuge. Last time I went, my brother brought his dog from out of town and it was very convenient to have a side field for our two dogs to meet each other. As for the main field, its packed with very diverse terrain. Theres an open field with space enough for plenty of simultaneous games of fetch, a central gazebo with volunteers supplying free water in bowls (an actual fountain is located near the main entrance). Theres a wide forested area near the back entrance, a bushy interconnected path area, and even an agility course to try out. This is a country club for dogs. People are usually very good about cleaning up after their animals, but you will have to occasionally watch your step. Sometimes it gets a little busy on nice weekends, but theres plenty of space. I havent seen an overly aggressive dog become a problem yet, and I have a feeling that such incidents are rather rare. Hope to see you there!

Great park, lots of room for the dogs to run. There are a couple areas section of for smaller or less active or hyper dogs. There is a small agility area with a few obstacles to play and train on. There is a small covered area to get out of the sun and they have jugs there, sometimes its out so I recommend bring your own water just in case. By far the best dog park in the area (stellecom, lakewood, spanaway and Puyallup).

Ill rate this dog park based on the location, size and cleanliness, rather than experiences with dogs at this park. This place is huge which gives the dogs lots of room to avoid other dogs or situations that might be trouble. There are trees, a massive open field area, a separate area for small dogs and even a patch of scotchbroom for your pups to explore. Its a little bit tucked away from I-5 but its worth the drive.

As with any public dog park, each individual experience can be affected by the level of responsibility observed by the pet owners that are present at the time. That factor aside, this is a truly wonderful dog park. There is a small dog field, a pen for introductions and an extensive large dog area with trails, shelters and equipment. We visit this park frequently and, generally speaking, the pet owners are paying attention and responsive. If you have never been to a dog park, be sure to read the rules before entering, to include; only one dog family in the entry holding pen at a time.

This park has a massive amount of space. They have a park for large dogs and small dogs. However the space is a blessing and curse. While it provides a great opportunity for your dog to run and socialize, it does not prevent them from aggressive dogs or ignorant owners.I suggest leash walking your dog through the park until you both are comfortable.

The park itself is absolutely great, has three different fenced in areas for the dogs one small area a medium area and a large area, as well as beautiful trails. The only downside to the park is some people do not know how to control their dogs. I guess that goes with any dog park but it just seems some owners that go here really just trust their dogs to much.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND this park for your fur baby and yourself as well! Beautiful, clean, fenced in, upkept dog park! Our 3 pitbulls and 1 golden retriever love this park. It takes us about an hour to walk around (can be done in 30mins). Lots of trees and greenery also a large open field great for throwing toys. There is a walkway in the park for the owners to use as well that goes throughout the dog park. Also, it has an agility course inside the large dog park. They have water stations too. You hardly run into other dogs because the park is so big. Everyone has been friendly and the dogs as well. Three different dog parks are all connected, small, medium, and large.

I really enjoy taking my Great Dane here. It looks like this place has special events like for greyhounds on Sunday mornings which is great! Also, plenty of water stations/poop bags, and a cool agility course.Nothing to get too excited about. The tube is literally collapsing so even my sisters dog couldn’t fit (40lb. Dog). They are always maintaining the grounds and mowing the lawn here.Just wish some dog parents wouldn’t bring their small children age (2) or so into the off leash dog area. Especially when they’re on the phone and not even paying attention to their small child. I have visited when there are some pretty bad dog fights or just roughhousing. Dogs don’t pay attention to where they’re going and can easily knock over a small child. But of course in the end us dog parents are going to pay the price. Even though this is an off leash dog park, and not the children’s playground. Just be smart about it PLEASE!

The Fort Steilacoom Dog Park is a national treasure. While its not perfect, this dog park is amazing. The space it covers is enormous for a dog park and the grounds are surprisingly clean to freely walk around. There is a separate area for smaller dogs. Water is also provided in a central area for the dogs to stay hydrated. The people and dogs who frequent this dog park are incredibly friendly. Our dogs have a great experience every time we go. This is a great place. Two separate big enclosures. The smaller of the two is generally accepted as the small dog section and the larger as the large dog enclosure. We have been going here for years with dogs I raised from pups that were very well socialized. The most recent addition to my family is a Mastiff/Shepard mix. Great with people but has some aggression issues towards other dogs ( especially smaller ones). We keep him on the leash for now but there has been some great dog owners we have met that understand our predicament and go out of their way to help us with our training. Great park with thoughtful and intelligent handlers!

Dont leave your valuables in your car. Enclosed dog park is popular. However there has been aggressive dogs causing serious harm to other dogs. Many homeless people (not homeless families) living in isolated areas. The lake, Waughop is filthy as it was a dumping spot for rendering bi product of old Western State Hospital practices. Across the street is current Western State Mental Institution and violent offender unit.

I loved it with our grand dog. He could really run@ But then there can be aggressive dogs and he will not usually submit to one trying to dominate him. Therefore there were several almost fights, that I had to intervene in because the other owner would not take control of their dog. So it became a job to watch out for those bratty dogs. Also 2 times we encountered regulars- groups of humans walking together and their dogs run in packs and ganged up on him both times. Their owners didnt intervene until I had to get heated up for them to get their dogs off mine! They were rude about it too because it interrupted their talking. Needless to say it became no fun anymore.
