The park itself is really beautiful, but BEWARE the PLAYGROUND IS CLOSED. Its behind the fence. There is no sign on the entrance why its closed. We went here with our 3yo only because of the big playground, but couldnt get there. Very disappointed.
Weve visited millennium Park and before one months and found it all to be safe, comfortable, accomodating, and covid safe, by closing the BATHROOM, because in your most have bathrooms and now most have sewage, if not you have a waste box . Being outside and is a great way to get out and away from covid.WE LOVE THE PARK AND WILL CONTINUE TO COME WE ARE TO OLD TOOread less
Not the most traditional situation for a review but as part of the Alabama Task force 1 sent to lake Charles for hurricane Laura. We set up a 110ft mobile tower so that our guys would have radio coverage through the city here at millennium park. I will say the kids play area is one of the most well built things I have ever seen as it looks almost untouched while everything else is heavily damaged. Hopefully soon the park will be cleaned and repaired and people can go back to enjoying it. The bathrooms are damaged so they are closed no running water, lots of debris in the park as well.
The weather is really nice, the park is very clean. There’s a lot more to explore than the photos I took that day. There’s a big kid park, it’s closed right now, of course due to the pandemic. There’s an amphitheater, a memorial for soldiers. It’s a really nice place to just sit for a bit or skateboard if you have one. The fresh air always is a pleasure! Further down is a white sandy beach and the kids enjoyed playing there as well, there’s a place to shower off and there’s a changing room but again it’s closed right now.
I feel pretty safe with my kids here. The bathrooms could use some work but overall nice. The people at the pg are very friendly.
Excellent kid friendly and great place for a pit stop if you are passing through. Has a splash pad for the hot days. Has a place for toddlers all the way to teenagers.
It used to be a fun park, but now the town has decided the parents can no longer play in the play ground with the children! It used to be better, but it is ok still I guess. There used to be a nice water rec area, but never saw it operating this past summer. Things could be MUCH nicer than they are on Lake Charles, but they just want the casinos running.
The view o the lake....the atmosphere is why i keep going back....Saturday nights cars come out to play and show their lights
This is the biggest playground Ive ever been! There are several different play areas (including 1 specifically for toddlers) and everything is very well made and maintained. There are plenty of shaded areas to sit, a concession stand, drinking fountains and public restrooms. The best part is the splash pad!! Its a pretty big area with lots of different water spouts and fountains that any age can enjoy. And its all free!! Dont pass up the opportunity for your little ones!!!
Great place to take kids and let them get wet. There is a little something for everyone. First there is a very large playground areas for kids all ages to enjoy. But playground area has enough area for even parents to follow their children. The playground area is divided into an older children area and a toddler area that has safer settings for young children. Lastly, there is a splash park adjacent where you and your kids can get wet and have fun. There are bathrooms and outdoor showers to rinse off after the splash park. The entire park is even wired with music. Definitely a park to visit regularly.
Its a great place to go
Great place to watch the sun set and if you want to get outside with your kids, friends, family or a date it is a nice place in a town for not much to do. They keep it clean and anytime I have been I always feel safe with my friends or alone. Its also a great place for working out too. If you bring your dogs make sure you bring doggies poo bags as they do NOT have them out here.
Free playground and splash pad with separate playground for a little ones. Huge climbing treehouse like structure for elementary ages. There are handicapable swings, covered bench spots for shade and nursing mothers, Wi-Fi hotspot, and picnic benches for eating outside the park. This is a wonderful place to spend the morning or afternoon on a summer day.You will see pollinating flowers that have been very carefully placed and cared for within the park.️Theyre also security guards patrolling the playground area reminding parents and children to wear shoes. ️There are two single room restrooms but beware that they are not the nicest and one has a broken door lock and appear to be unkempt. There are also no changing rooms so you may need to do that prior to coming.See you on the road, @gabrielcraft.me
I loved all the historic informations thats resented and that there is more than enough space to socially distance while there. A great breath of fresh air for those of us that need to be in nature
Super fun and good crab snagging
This is an awesome hidden gem in downtown Lake Charles. There is so much for kids to do they could spend hours there. It has a splash pad for those hot Louisiana days to keep things cool. The park only had one entrance which helps with security and they even have dedicated security on site. The park backs up to the lake, so if you get tired of setting at the park you can walk the boardwalk by the lake.
This is a great park. Lovely location by the lake. Super clean. Recently, food trucks have begun to park there, so now there are food options!I really like the layout of this park. Its surrounded by a large gate, then its inside another gate. One side of the play area is designed for under 5 with swings, a low level ramp area to run around, up, down etc. The other side is for older children. Large slides, climbing apparatuses, see saws, etc. Theres lots of seating for parents, so you can sit back and watch your kiddos. Also, there is a splash pad for the hotter months. The only downfall I feel is, weirdly, the size of the park. Because of its location there are lots of people, so it can be easy to lose track of your child. My 2 yr old got separated from my 5 yr old. I saw him wandering around looking for his big brother, then he was gone. Luckily I found him between the two gated areas. I was honestly worried that if I hadnt gotten up, he could have wandered completely out of the area into the open fields or the road. So I do wish there was some kind of extra security measure.
To start off, it’s undeniably a beautiful and relaxing place but it’s a park. I understand the security concerns for ‘safety’ but it’s literally a place where people go to spend quality time with others. What could it literally hurt to let the kids take their shoes off and run around? The park before didn’t have as many advantages but I promise the kids had more fun back then. Let a park be a park.
I wish I could give half start... the park is 4,8... Great place for your kiddos. Park structures are great and very nice decorated. Have tables, benches, around the area. My kids enjoyed the splash pad. Im not giving 5*, because restrooms wasnt clean, men restroom was nasty. I understand that is also part of the people that is using the park, but my son couldnt change after play in the water because he couldnt breath inside.
Excellent It gave our Excelsior team a high that we could never ever feel again it was well worth the time
Something for everyone here! Picnic, fish. Bring the kids and the dogs! My family and I really enjoyed it!
Very fun and unique park. I played here as a kid before the rebuild it after it burned down. It is so much nicer! A water, sand pit, giant play castle, swings (and baby swings), as well as many more attractions. Bathrooms are spacious and usually kept up well!
Been gone 27yrs from swla and am totally enjoying seeing the old stuff and the new! And bringing my kids who didnt grow up here to learn about their roots!!!
Nice place for just hanging out. Usually clean and quiet. Park to play and sidewalk for walking. Some fish here as well...
Great place to go walking, fishing, or just relax. And if you walk the entire park its about 2 miles, with lots of ducks.
Been here a few times with my kids. They love it! It is by far the best park in the area. Today was the first time they got to play at the slpash pad. It wasnt crowded. They had a blast!
Not bad for a park. clean and fun
Went with my daughter and granddaughter.. it was lovely to watch her have so much fun
Wow this place is amazing! Stopped here on our road trip and it was a much needed break for my 4 year old. They have a tot area for kids up to 5 years old in addition to the bigger playground area. One drawback is it’s hard to keep track of little ones on the big playground structure since it’s so elaborate but my son had a blast and we will be making a weekend trip to Lake Charles from Houston sometime so we can spend some more time at this park.
Beautiful views and nice walk way to walk while taking in the day. Also one of the biggest playgrounds Ive ever seen so well worth a visit if you have kids
Some older kids a lil cussing but a nice play area
Awesome water park with clean restrooms an a huge jungle gym for the kids also a lake you can fish at without the worrys of gator eating your bait
We loved our visit the park is a child dream. Its so beautiful veterans memorial park was serene. I had a moment of awe for what the fallen did for us i recommend every one visit its a much do in Lake Charles we had great weekend
Excellent, fun playground. Clean and accessible. There are play areas for multiple age groups. Clean bathrooms. Splash pad with shade.
Gorgeous garden and the best play place for little ones and its free! Sandbox and water play area were so fun!
Beautiful and a really great place to take the kids overall.
Awesome park along the waterfront
Very nice park. Lots of things for kids to do
My boys love this park and always have a lot of fun there .
Hands down one of the best parks we have been to. It is easy to access and beautiful. Great walking trail that follows the lake.
The park is kept very clean and everything is of newer condition. Nothing is broken or needing to be fixed. My nephews love going to this park. Theres a lot of different play areas. A great place for the kids to play.
This park is cool. One of my kids favorites but they run the water feature all year which seems weird and I personally think shouldnt be allowed to keep people from getting sick.
Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit with our daughter. She had a blast & we loved watching her having a blast. The park & splash park are next to each other so its fun to play a while before you swim or vise versa.
Yes I loved this place. It has a big playground for children and a big splash pad. it also had tables and benches. Clean restrooms. I loved that the playground floor was that sponge material to cushion falls. It is very beautiful and senic. You must visit to capture the beauty on the water here. it has a dock with boats so besides the playground and splash pad for the younger crowd. It also offers marine enjoyment for the older crowd that enjoys capturing like i did.
Great park for kids of all ages. Water park with sensors. Giant tree and pirate ship. I bring my son there least once a week
Beautiful scenery, Great place for the kids to play & the adults to excercise.
It was nice kids enjoyed the place
Place is awesome. Looks like they have a splash pad. It isnt open due to the season, but I know during the summer its probably the place to be.
Great place to let your kids have fun..Its clean. Great environment. I love that its so close to the beach ..I actually go often
Nice! Great place for a romantic Saturday afternoon date. Like my hubby and I.
Great place to bring your family
Fantastic park off of bord du lac and lake shore Blvd. Has a splash pad, restrooms, sandpit, and extensive pirate themed playground. Please also note that a maintenance sign by the gate says the park is closed Monday mornings for maintenance but reopens at 1pm.
This place is great, I really enjoy coming here and spending a couple hours with the kids. They have a huge fort for the kids, theres multiple swing sets, they have a wonderful little water park and an amphitheater of all things. Its located right off the water so you can look at all the boats or even fish. They have plenty of seating and security there is always making their presence know which is nice to know your vehicle is safe. Its free, its very nice and the kids love it!
I love this park, but it is impossible to keep an eye on more than one child. Bring spare help because its worth it. Huge, fun park!
The best lots of playground equipment splash pad nice scenery
Love the park this is one of my favorite parks to take the kids at. And they got security just sometimes I feel they close a little too early other than that its an awsome park
Great for kidsThe water fountain was niceThere is a lot lf parking spotsAnd lake Charles is behind you to enjoy the scene
A must place!! The kids in your life will never forget the time spent at this playground.. By far the best in playgrounds!!
This a very well kept playground. It is great for play and imagination. There is nice seating for families but during busy times it isnt enough. There is only one way in and out for safety. There is a bathroom but only one stall for the girls and one for the boys so that can be a problem with little ones. However, it is safer for them. There is a splash pad with seating and shade right next to the restrooms. Its by the water and there are sidewalks to walk along. There is plenty of grass for frisby or whatever else.
We were there with kids. They had a blast. I especially am jealous of the soft ground 8nntye okay area, as I only recall playing on rocks.
My family and I visit this park at least once a year, when we come from Atlanta to visit relatives. The area for kids is always clean and safe. We love this park!
Good place to bring the kids, there us a really nice play park. There is also a stage where bands perform. Amphitheater kind of. Bring chairs or a blanket or just sit on the grass.
Safe and really fun for the kids.
Loved the fact that, my friend and I got to our lil ones the doves and ducks.....go and walk the board walk it was very relaxing
Dont miss going to millennium park because your kids will love it. Its got a splash pad to keep cool in the summer and its a one of a kind playground. Relax while the kids play in plain sight.
Great place for the kids to go play and let off steam! Parents can get out there and play with the kids due to the sturdy well maintained equipment! #putthephonedown#
Very AWESOME experience for the family....thank you to too great employees Mr. Aruthur and Mrs. Gwen. They were very courteous and helpful.
Just a beautiful place
My baby loves this Playground!!
This is a wonderful park overlooking Lake Charles - it is appropriate for children of all ages and includes a splash pad for summer fun. Highly recommend!
Beautiful things to see
Great place, the city has done really well with this park, take the kids and enjoy
Absolutely Beautiful There was so much there for the kids to do. I was impressed by the Cleanliness also. We also stopped by the 911 and Pentagon Memorial. It is so Perfect and Calming
Very nice park. I like it especially because theres only one point of entry. A huge gate at the front. Theyre closed on Mondays though until 1pm for maintenance.
This is the coolest park!! Its HUGE and had a separate area for small children. The park is very clean, and they have music playing, which we thought was so fun! Theres also a really neat splash pad right next to the playground.
My 5 year old said it is the greatest park ever!
Moved to the area recently because of my husbands job. We are from West Palm Beach, Florida. There wasn’t much to do around here with my 4 year old son and when we found this park we both loved it! We come every week! There’s shaded benches for parents! Different themed playgrounds and a special area for 5 year old and under! Plus the amazing splash pad! Don’t miss out
I walk this park every morning and really do enjoy the environment.Larry F....
Beautiful place to relax and let the children run with out worries due to the fenced in area
Lots of fun chasing the kids around! Watch your head if youre over 4 feet tall.
If you are in LC with kids, DO NOT PASS THIS PARK UP! Free attraction right here! Good for little ones and big ones, and mostly fenced in. Great visibility through all play structures ( in other words, its easy to find your kid)
The best in the city, great playgrounds. And refreshment place to take a public shower with fun!
Nice.. humidity is high..
Very nice and clean will visit again
Was at the Civic Center for the annual Dragon Boat Races.
Very nice place...niece and nephew def enjoyed themselves
Awsome park for the kids so glad we have it
The renovated park is a fun and safe place for the family and children. With the added benefit of being close to our event pavilion and across from our beautiful boardwalk it is a wonderful place to spend your afternoon.
Great park to get the kids out the house without spending money! You can pack a picnic with goodies. They usually have venders on the outside with dip n dots etc. The pads in the park area get extremely hot so be sure your kiddos or yourself have shoes then there is a water area so have your swim suits and towels as well. It usually is so hot you will dry off before leaving and will not need a change of clothes. There are not changing rooms you have to use the bathroom which is a one person restroom so it can take time waiting in line.
Perfect place to stretch your legs while on a road trip with kids...big play area....fountain pad...plenty of seating space.. very clean n maintained.
Mice place to bring kids..free
Grandson ALWAYS enjoys himself. We feel somewhat safe taking him there. Nothing no one did.. its just nowhere is safe anymore.
Super awesome park. My little 4 year old boy truly enjoyed himself. I like how theres one way in and out for safety. The playhouses are made out of composite wood so no splinters. Also turf with good padding under it to prevent those bad falls, scraps, bruises and grass stains. I will definitely be back as the smile on my kids face was priceless!!!
Nice and clean. Super fun for little kids and big kids!!!
Nice park. Plenty of parking and water front waking.
Went down to check out pirate fest. Its fun and has good music just not as large of a scale as one would expect.
Great place to take your little ones. My son loved the music
Great playground for kids of all ages!!! Beware that no pets are allowed inside the playground
My kids absolutely love this place and beg us every year to go
